I don’t have a problem with vintage lume. Many of us are obsessed with tradition which is good but you also have to take into account the entire aesthetic of the dial and imo the cream colour of vintage lume often fits in better with the other colours present and I certainly feel that is the case with this watch - it just works. Thanks for the review! Ps would love to see this watch with a mechanical movement inside it!
I own 2 Q Timex watches and absolutely love them. If you are not hung up on having an amazing automatic movement or needing to show you wear a Rolex, this one looks just as good for a fraction of that price. I know the term grail watch is thrown around because they are unattainable and extremely expensive, but this believe it or not is my grail and I plan to own a few more. I own over 30 watches, but I seem to wear my Qs these days and nothing else. The look of the watch is just a thing of beauty and I have no problems with the bracelet and I'm a pretty hairy guy. Maybe if you have shorter hair? I don't know, but I only experience a slight pinch once a week if that. Nothing to even mention. The bracelet is beautiful and is a joy to be able to adjust yourself and not have to pay a watch repair shop to do it. Also, the battery hatch can be opened with a nickle and you can change it yourself. All around the Q Timex is a home run.
Another great video, I love my Q. However that OEM bracelet pulls your hairs hard! Wish you guys would manufacture a strap that matched the case length and tapper like the OEM one!
The truth seems to me fantastic that Timex makes reissues of the classic models, making it possible for those who were not born at that time to be able to enjoy them and what better time when the 80's fashion returned.
I own this, and it's a fine watch. The bracelet is crap, pulls hairs like none other. The watch itself looks fantastic, and the bezel is fine (non ratcheted). Where I have the issue, is the movement. It's a crap movement, and they should have spend a couple more bucks on something that doesn't cause a stroke with trying to set the time.
Great review and watch. The Q now reminds me of Q in James Bond. I like how the way these re issues of the quartz ones with a battery has an easy hatch, so you can change their battery easily. This has always been a problem for me to change a battery on a watch, sometimes it can be easy but others quite hard. I hope Timex do some more re issues of past watches and I’d love them to re issues their ana digi watches that they had in the 1980s Maybe they will see this and build some soon?
The operative word for this watch really is “design”. It’s not a functional diver, but man if it isn’t cool looking. It’s slim, it’s domed, it’s retro, it’s very versatile, and fits under most buyer budgets. I love mine, and I’ve gotten used to the bracelet. It’s been my daily work piece. I found my Hamilton khaki to be too casual looking, my Oris only goes on special occasions, and my other sports watches are too large or too “functional” to be worn under my dress shirt. I work near magnetic fields quite often, and a quartz piece that is inexpensive and stylish gives me some peace of mind.
Love my Q...41mm would have been perfect and while I love the bracelet but it is a hair grabber for sure. My seconds hand hits each mark perfectly as well!!
A good looking watch that's so overrated it's disgusting. They cant even give you solid links or sapphire? NO decent wr rating? I can buy so many microbrands or knockoffs that offer so much more at the same or lower price. Spend your money wisely and get more bang for your buck!
Solomon Childs Richard legrand, Aquatico, phoibos, hamtun, spinnaker and you could jump on some great value Japanese automatics like Starking or Pagani design. Massive production watches like Alpha or Parnis have great value and great specs for far less money. You don’t have to spend a ton of money to get so much watch.

I'm thinking of getting one now that it's on sale, I'm torn between this and the Timex falcon eye...
I've used this almost daily for few months and really can't complain, excellent watch
Fine. Do you know any strap or bracelet option for this retro watch? Thanks
That is great to hear Miika! What did you think of the strap choices?
@@VenerableYorge If you check out the video we offer some strap suggestions :D
@@watchgecko Ok. Thanks!!!
Does the dust and gunks enters between the link of the bracelet right?

Thank you! :D
the voice overlay is so perfect!!!
Just bought it for 90$ I’m very happy about the purchase, cant wait for it to arrive!
Got it for $105 😄
Best review I've seen on this watch, very informative -- subscribed.
Thats great to hear! Glad to have you on-board :D
Timex was conceptually already a 'quartz brand '
back in the time before quartz movements were invented
Thank you for checking out our review!
Great looking watch for sure! I want one but I am not gonna pay 170 bucks (or more on eBay) for a simple quartz watch which just looks retro.
It really is a great looking watch! really catches your eye.
Only changed my bracelet. Fell out in a lift, easily falls off when rubbed against. Now it's better with brown leather.
Which was your favourite strap suggestions we offered?

A dubious point made with hyperbolic conviction. Bot?
I own this watch and like it a lot. My wife actually loves it because of its looks. I’m glad I purchased it.

That bracelet is definitely an arm puller :D
I have heard the glass is a scratch magnet? Is that true?
Nice review and amazing strap options from you guys. 👍
Thanks Gold Dragon! Which was your favorite strap option?
@@watchgecko id go for the blue suede... as it goes well with the color of the dial.
If you dont mind going bigger, I got a vostok komandirskie gmt and put a pepsi bezel on it. Looks great, automatic, 2 timezone gmt.
Sounds great!
Should I buy it as an investment?
What is the price

did urs get scrached, i heard the glass is acrylic
@@mayank1252 yes, but a little polywatch and it’s good as new. Part of the retro look is getting some scratches here and there.
@@andrewe.8321 Thank you.
I got this few days back in India for 5,900 Rs. (80 USD) from the timex website and I think I'm lucky.😄
@@mayank1252 very lucky! Awesome find. I managed to grab mine on sale for about 120 USD. Hope you enjoy the watch!
@@andrewe.8321 Yeah.. thank you.
Have a g'day.

maybe so , but 41mm watches were considered enormous in the 70s
Can I wear a NATO strap on this watch?
That's their best yet.
It's definitely up there!
Why not go for the new M79 it's the same thing but with an automatic movement.
I either can't feel hair grab any longer, or the bracelet has broken in and no longer grabs hair.
You've become immune :D
or it pulled out all the hair growing against the grain of bracelet
No mention of how the crystal is acrylic? One of the big draws for me.
True BUT the Original had acrylic too - this is a REISSUE of the Original BUDGET watch made in 1979 .
great watch great review 👍
Thanks Alberto! What did you think of the strap choices?
Is a very pretty looking watch, ticks many boxes for its approachable price tag
Made in which country?
“Epitome”? Yes, like Bazooka Bubblegum is the epitome of fine French cuisine.
"Non-ratcheting bezel"..... and in the bin it goes!!!
I guess you wouldn’t like vintage Rolex GMT then either. They also have non-ratcheting bezels.
if they do it 100m water resistance and the glass more tough was more better!!!
Informative but, the presenter sounds bored. Channel needs a better presenter - voice tone is important. Can’t listen to the guy.
