    Hey Jim. Your golf swing doesn’t require golf shoes. Hell, it doesn’t require shoes.😂

    I watched one of your videos a few years ago on this. I went from a 20 handicap to damn near scratch in 2 years. People always comment how it looks like I’m aiming 10 miles to the right (it took time to get comfortable with that) but its me always taking their money at the end of the round 😉
    But seriously this system might not look like Rory but it’s damn effective and efficient for our level.

      Rory aims off to the right that is how he plays a high draw.

    I've watched your videos but never been able to feel exactly what you teach. This video feels like the eureka moment just went off in my head. The 'moving the machine' analogy makes perfect sense. Im going to the range tonight with this fresh in my thinking. Thank you!

    Hi Jim I felt compelled to report on my journey following your teaching.... I'm 69, retired and lost most of my agility and super fitness (trying to say I'm enjoying retirement a bit too much and turning into a bit of a slob except for my golf lol), anyway I was sceptical about it initially especially when it came to alignment but I shouldn't have worried because all I do is aim a shade to the right and the draw brings it nicely in....the only thing I found that you need to do is aim the club face where you want to ball go,set your stance and TRUST the swing....it really does work and I play to a 3 handicap and maintening it comfortably....this is a swing for everyone especially us out of shape fat b******you...thank you Jim

    So in essence the right hand/arm is just along for the ride… as a person with a degree in Phy Ed /Kinesiology I find your methodology flat out Brilliant…I have adopted it 3 months ago & started slowly and am now hitting my shots with the tight draw also I did a little test with 25 balls hittting a pitching wedge & then a 7 iron & in both scenarios my balls were in a close dispersion with the farthest distance of no more than 10 yards… can’t wait till spring time as I am in Wisconsin

    I've got one problem - the suggestion earlier in the video was that the target line was perpendicular to the leading edge of the mat. The tracer right at the end suggested that the ball would land well right of that target line. Did it do everything else that was stated ? Yes. It's just that it didn't appear to land within a reasonable distance from the target line.

    really really great explanation. alignment has been my biggest challenge. if i have too much draw is it because my right side is too strong or am i too closed?

    • @jimvenetosgolf
      @jimvenetosgolf  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not because of being too closed. Too much draw just means that you’re a little sloppy. Tighten up your set up and stillness.

  • @markhuru
    @markhuru 6 หลายเดือนก่อน

    I have best easiest alignment, set up to the ball , then rotate with club in front of you hip high, rotate till your shoulder are perpendicular to your target now look where the head of your club is aiming, if it’s right or left of target move your feet accordingly, you can adjust slightly if you intend to draw or fade the ball. It’s a quick pre shot check takes only seconds, the ball never travels past your shoulder turn. Works like magic.

    Love these videos. One question, how does ball position and clubface alignment play on as you aim to the right ?
    Thanks

    • @jimvenetosgolf
      @jimvenetosgolf  5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Not aiming to the right as much as I’m aiming right where I want the ball to start. Your ball position has more influence on spin and trajectory than it does alignment and for 90% of the shots I play, my club face is square to where I want the ball to start.

    • @drumcatnau
      @drumcatnau 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@jimvenetosgolf This was what was missing for me. The club face is square to the _line_, not the target. I was doing that, but I thought I was going against your advice. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

  • @pete3953
    @pete3953 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

    All of this sounds very rational. But then wouldn't it make sense for a right handed golfer to play from the other side, so that his stronger/dominant arm is now the lead arm? I'm right handed and when I'm playing tennis, am very comfortable hitting one handed backhands . I doubt I would hit a backhand with the same power if I played left handed.

    • @vinceschiavo5385
      @vinceschiavo5385 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Good point…Nicklaus is a natural lefty and Mickelson is a natural righty.

    • @TheWedgeWizard
      @TheWedgeWizard 5 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The lead arm is far more stable in the swing. It’s like towing anything, say a trailer, pulling it is very stable vs pushing something is very unstable, basic physics. Not to mention compression is where all the distance in golf comes from & compression is if from the lead side, too much trail and you’re scooping at it or flipping it closed. The trail side simply adds some extra stability and speed but the lead controls everything whether you want it to or not so you might as well learn to use it. Plus once you get comfortable with lead side control you have 2 dominated arms. All the trail has to do is a throwing like motion, that’s a basic motor skill ingrained in our DNA, but the precision part from the lead side needs to be learned through practice. Tiger feels the emblem of his glove controls all the small manipulations for hitting different shot shapes & trajectories, that’s one of the best feels because the emblem or simply the back of your lead hand matches the club face perfectly & the lead arm is a straight extension of the shaft at impact.

    So if you were swinging by a clock would your shoulders be pointed at 2:00 or 3:00 and then your Club face pointed at 1:00.is that basically what gives you the draw? Love all your videos.

    • @jimvenetosgolf
      @jimvenetosgolf  6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Negative. Your perception is off. The draw comes from the swing path and the clubface is square to the swing path which is at about 12:30 for a rt handed golfer. You in the gen pop need to set your shoulders closed 45 deg so that you can engage your lead side and subdue your trail side.
      I understand the perception you are speaking from and it is errored from the start because of misunderstanding how the lead shoulder socket works.

    Doesn’t the club face indicate starting direction though? And the swing path indicates spin. I think I have a fairly consistent swing path with this swing, but I struggle with keeping my club face square to where I want the start line.

    • @jimvenetosgolf
      @jimvenetosgolf  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      The face and the path combine to dictate the starting direction. Keeping the club face square is easy. All explained in my school.

      You are basically correct, “the new laws of ball flight”. It’s not 100%/100% & loft changes the amount each affects the shot but essentially yes club face dictates starting direction & the path in relation to the face = curve/spin.

    The question was WHERE IS THE TARGET. You being the Oil Salesman danced around it as usual. Show a DOT or something on your Video to what would represent a FLAG and then hit it. Oh you wont because it will then reflect what anyone with eye sight can see. YOU PUSH the ball to the right. Is there a DRAW Yes, but where is your target? All we see if the Ball flying to the right. Other words a push draw. No way to know if it gets back to the target, why because you ducked the question.
