This position has saved my breastfeeding journey. I have back problems and my baby nurses for an hour and a half minimum! My lower back and shoulders were killing me! Now I can feed him comfortably.
After my C-section I get tired easily and feeding my baby wasn’t easy until my mom introduced this position to me and I must say this has been my favorite for me and my baby❤
Exactly what I do because my baby is always in demand at night. I got so exhausted then standing up at night to the extent that I had to look for a comfortable way with lots of support with pillows in order to feed her while lying. I watched the video to see if I miss anything out. Someone argued with me that I was going to spoil my baby because I started the sideline feeding when she was exactly 2months old. I just ignored because I saw it as another way of feeding and not spoiling an hungry baby at night. She's 3months today and we're happy to be comfortable during night feeding sessions.
This was always my absolute favourite feeding position with our girls! No pressure on back and found it was where we were most comfortable. Thanks so much for sharing ❤️
The day my daughter was born . I always feed her side lying . Now she is 7 month old and still I feed her like this . No back pain no prblm at all . Best position ever 😎
@@akanshamishra1218 hi dear , i was asking what u did when she was on completely breastfeed bcoz my baby is not taking feed on lap , inky taking in lying position that why m asking how u managed while traveling.
I wouldn't recommended this position at night because it might be lethal for the baby if mom sleeps during feeding. She might lean over the baby and thus the baby might stop breathing. I have heard about such accidents, so the mother should sit up with a safe position and do breastfeed as i always do. Hope it is helpful for you
I would say for people who aren’t “cognitively” aware. So if you are impaired (meds etc). Some people like me, are light sleepers ANYWAY. And I’m very paranoid. Even when my babies have been in their own beds etc. I wake up CONSTANTLY to check on them. And if I have babh in bed with me for a feed (mind you, there are times where I 1/2 doze off, even sitting), I set a timer for 30minutes (just in case) and even when they’re in their own bed, I set one for every 2-3 hours.
I had a moment when i snoozed off during the side- lying feed and got really worried. But now my arms, back and tail bone can't tolerate 8 hrs a day feeding anymore. I tried side- lying again, and find that my baby can drink for much longer than sitting up feeds. There are tutorials on pilllow and arm placement for this position to prevent you from leaning over and suffocate your baby. My new born has no feed schedule yet so sometimes she drinks nearly every hour even though we are trying very hard for a 3 hrs gap. I get my 3 hrs extra sleep between 10pm-1pm feed bc my husband latches our baby to my boob while i literally pass out, then he watches her. Now i get 5-6hrs sleep with the help of this trick.
With my 1st Born, I did the side laying when my baby was less than two months and she got chocked by milk which scared the hell out of me. thank God nothing serious happened. Now with my 2nd baby, I'm so scared N always wakes up N sit in the middle of the night to feed her. I'm just waiting till she is 2 then will go for side laying again she would be a little older I guess.
I did this all wrong and am paying for it!! I really messed up my back sleeping in terrible positions. Only the breast touching the bed should be used to feed. I assumed you could feed with either breast while lying on one side.
My in laws and husband doesn't allow me to feed by lying they say lying and feeding causes ear infection in baby .. 😭😭 but there are many who says they feed their baby only in lying position
They are not incorrect. If the baby is less than 6 months and if milk is fed lying on their side then the baby is more prone to getting an ear infection. This is due to milk entering in the Ear internally or externally
@@pradnyasawarekar3813 I did check with 3-4 lactation all of them said breastfeeding while lying down is safe only the babies who feed through bottles are risky
I am a mom of two now last month delivered a baby boy mine was c-section both the times for my daughter I was feeding her in lying position but for recent one doctor suggested not to do so as it can cause pneumonia in babies
hai mam... iam exactly 3months old mother now. during first 25days after delivery, my baby is unable to hold my nipple, so i used breast pump to feed her. later i stopped giving as i felt it as burden. and i didnt feel any heaviness after stopped giving also. but now i realized my mistake and i want to give my baby breast feed again. please give me some tips.

Good
I use this position and set a timer to ring every 5-8 minutes, this is perfect as it prevents me from snoozing off.
Check out safe sleep seven and sweet sleep . Side lying breastfeeding is perfectly safe and so if dozing while feeding.

I tried it but I didn't find it comfortable... my neck and folded arm started to hurt and I felt a bit stuck in one place.
This should only be done when the mom is completely awake. You should never sleep and try to feed your baby at the same time.
Does the baby's head need to be elevated while feeding on a side lying position??
