    When I came across your video today....I was searching for anything to help me and this video has changed me and my newborn's life INSTANTLY 🙌🏽! My nipples have been so sore that they felt raw despite using the best organic nipple creams and trying to ensure proper latch. My newborn was not opening her mouth wide enough to latch deeply. I felt like giving up and just do formula feed, but I put this breastfeeding method into practice right away and it worked like magic. My baby and I both were the most relaxed that we have ever been since coming from the hospital by using this method. It was painless. My baby is 5 weeks now and I have huge breasts.... So for the moms that may be struggling please try this method and I hope it works just as well for you! Happy feeding and resting! 🤗👌🏽🙏🏽🙌🏽 😴❤️

      any let down issue from the other breast( on top)? do we have to have a something there to catch but then it may hurt baby?

      No cream reduce nipple crack... In any position u just insert areola fully inside babies mouth... I have worst nipple crak until 2months of postpartum with my first baby but now it's my 38th day of postpartum with second no crack pain and struggles... Yes i have pain in first week but now correct latching heald every thing...

    Thank you for this video! It is one of the main reasons why my daughter and I managed to breastfeed comfortably after a difficult start and weeks of struggling. At two months, she would already roll towards me when we lay down, so it not only helped us feed more relaxed and without back pain but also helped her motor development!

    This is my second visit to this tutorial in 2 years. I struggled with the same issues with my third born as my second and literally dug through 2 years worth of "watch history" to find this and the "deep latch" video, that's how big of an impact they had the first time. As expected, my breast feeding issues are no more, you literally saved my sanity and breast feeding journey twice now. Thank you!

    8 years later and this video is still a treasure. I do side lying breastfeading, but it's hit and miss most of the times. By now I have figured it out more or less, but it's still not a comfortable position to be in. In my country bed-sharing and nursing lying down is actually encouraged, because apparently babies sleep more soundly as they feel safer and they grow up to be less anxious. of course taking all safety percausions.

      I would recommend the top of bed bedrail style - they clamp right on top of the bed so there is no gap. The other kind are only rated for safety with toddlers as you can lean on them and increase the gap which is a trap hazard. Babies under 4 months should only be on the side of the mom so you can feed with the top boob or flip in the bed or stay awake to roll them back. After 4-6 months it is safe to leave them in the middle with blankets to the waist and no pillows near the baby.

    Do you burp after feeding baby like this? Also, is it ok for them to sleep right away on this position and not eventually get a reflux?

    • @wagonbirdbf
      @wagonbirdbf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +16

      Burping is a comfort measure that was invented for bottle feeding babies. I would NEVER wake a happy sleeping baby to burp them 🙂. Reflux is an overdiagnosed and overmedicated condition in my opinion. Symptoms can generally be resolved with an appropriate, good quality infant probiotic containing the right strains. For more info on this, search for the TH-cam video: NPR microbiome

    • @wagonbirdbf
      @wagonbirdbf  3 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      No one worries about other mammals getting reflux... Puppies, kittens and every animal lay on their side with their mother to feed. This is a very western idea. To not allow lying down feeding

      Sweating in babies is common. Do not overdress or overblanket the baby. Dress the baby the same way you are dressed, but if you go outside, add a hat. You will actually protect the baby's life by not overdressing the baby. Cool cloths can help. If he is making lots of wet diapers every day, with nice clear yellow urine, he is well hydrated. Watch for concentrated diapers. Many babies sweat, and it's ok

    My baby won't lift his head up higher to find the nipple. He just latches on to where he can reach, usually just below my nipple and starts sucking until i pull him off. I can't get the nipple into his mouth for the life of me. Just when he latches by himself and that ends up too shallow. Any ideas?

    Thank you for this video, its very reassuring and informative - my baby is 6 days old and is feeding up to twice an hour throughout the night (basically constantly!) i tried side lying last night and it was really good but both me and the baby would fall asleep after every feed and she would end up sleeping on her side - in the sleep safety you say they should be sleeping on their backs - is it safe for her to sleep on her side or is there a way she could flop onto her back naturally after feeding? Thanks again! Eileen

      My newborn sleeps on her side. Even when I put her on her back, she goes back to her side. So when I lay and feed, I usually fall asleep and she’s still on her side when I wake up. I guess that’s just how she likes to sleep.

      My son is two weeks and sleep on his side. I wouldn't leave him unattended on his side but I'm normally right beside him so he can't roll any further

    Hello mommies. Do I have to elevate my babies head using a baby pillow or is ok to be that way?

    Is it necessary to put pillow under baby's head while breastfeeding?

    • @wagonbirdbf
      @wagonbirdbf  ปีที่แล้ว

      NEVER put a pillow under the baby's head, it is a hazard. The baby's head should be on the flat mattress. You will see in the tutorial here.
