Great tutorial. I think i'm going to take my homey and port the transfers and check to see if there is a lip on that bottom of the intake.

I have spent hours watching Bob Ross. I don't think he would be very impressed. We are back to building saws now!

What you are talking about with opening up the intake is commonly called port matching. And you’re right! Port matching is opening the casting to the SAME SIZE as what is before it.

Very good information that you put out here. The only thing I can't agree with is opening the lower transfers from the intake side up, because you could end up shouting the charge more towards the middle of your cylinder which will make you lose torque rather than gaining any (if you go to far).
Overall I really liked what you did and do right here, always very nice and helpful. Go on with what your doing 👍

I agree with that! I was planning on including some of that information with the video on scavenging. I just typically include that sort of stuff in the scavenging side. I’m just trying to give some of the basics and sometimes I forget to talk about certain things. Please feel free to give me some suggestions.

It’s from a DLE 20 or DLE 30. It’s been a long time since I picked it up. Hard to remember.

My dear old dad did porting on our motorcycles, he stressed the importance of smoothing out the flow through the intake, and in some cases, the exhaust as well. "The faster it goes in, the faster it needs to get out"
