Grew up running a s55 partner and it was a really good strong running saw with a 18" bar

Very nice running saw. I am building a 5000 too. Bottom feed transfers, 2 pieze head, full circle crank. And a big carburetor with intake block.

Sounds awesome. I wish my 5000 was that clean🤦🏻‍♂️

There is more in that saw. Remove baffle it's real easy on that saw no cutting to do and open the out let slightly and yes get more air and you will be very happy. I love these saws you actually get alot of gain when you mod them

Hey if you want a idea for a air filter I have the partner 500 and I drilled holes in the air filter cover and made a filter and put it in. You still half to put in the stock filter

😊😊 U can always mod the muffler open it so the saw can pull and breath and the air filter also the air filter is 2 thick and it won't let the saw pull enough air 😮😮 OMG 9 27 2O24

I actually used beanol to break in few my new builds, with zero carbon, when I've taken them apart, I just switched to red armor cause klotz directions say no good for cold weather

for some reason, I cannot watch this video. It is audio only. Can't figure it out. All other videos work fine. I even waited a day and came back to it. No go. I don't know what is going on. I've changed my video settings and everything. Nothing works and this is the only video of yours or anyone elses that is a problem. Any ideas?

That rev hang issue is kinda strange. I took the crack pipe out of my stock exhaust and made it a duel port. Makita/Dolmar probably has the worst stock exhaust of any saw. My saw makes good mid range but lacks up top and down low compared to other saws

Grind the port rough but to all fresh aluminum then don’t touch it. Use tape to block it from going into the bore. Mix up your JB Weld get it in there and then use a heat gun or propane torch and heat up the cylinder that’ll help it flow into the corners with no air bubbles. Done it many times on 660’s and some the guys having been milling with for 4 years and it’s never come out.

It definitely pulls good rpm’s! I have a little ps510 and the throttle linkage is a cable system. Can’t remember what my 7300 and 7910 have but a little graphite might help!

👍👍 JB weld. Tree monkey does it…he’s been doing this forever and doesn’t have issues. Has worked for me as well.

I've put jb weld in a half a dozen intakes so far, it's a pain because it has to set for a day but otherwise easy to do and hasnt failed yet. If you have a piston that's a touch smaller than the cylinder you can tape the port up really good and jam it in there so the jb weld doesnt leak onto the plating.
