    The colors look a lot better than those on WRGB OLEDs.

    If you get the DWF version which has AMD Free Sync and is approximately $100 cheaper it does allow you to update the firmware. I have the DWF version and it’s primarily went with it over the DW because of the fact that you can update the firmware.

    • @hemiW8
      @hemiW8 ปีที่แล้ว

      So there is still new firmware version on DW ?

    • @u.b.469
      @u.b.469 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      When you buy a new DW, it comes with the updated firmware from the factory. It's really the early adopters of the DW that got screwed.

    • @ThumbstickLegion
      @ThumbstickLegion ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@u.b.469 Even if you buy DW now, you may get screwed in the future if Dell releases another firmware update since the DW has no way of updating the firmware after a customer buys it. The DWF is the way to go.

      @@hemiW8 I decided to go with the DW over the DWF for gsync and the extra 10hz. It was also only 65 dollars more as they were both on sale. No firmware updates is definitely an oversight but at this point in the lifecycle I am not as worried about it as the one im buying now will have the latest firmware and most of the kinks should be ironed out but yes if you buy a DW now it will come with the latest firmware (unless its an old version that has been sitting on a shelf for a while) I bought directly from dell online though so that shouldnt be an issue.

    Good job. Liked! Just an info - a new qd-oled 2023 v2 (240hz and +30% brightness and x2 durable) - 34 and 49 inch pannels were already certified and there is a rumor that dellienware is planning a new 34 inch qd-oled soon to announce. 49 inch qd-oled v2 from $аm$ung is coming in 2-3 months. suprisingly it is still 250 nits brightness - guess +30% brightness boost goes for less agressive abl? Or i dont know.

    • @ALFGamingTV
      @ALFGamingTV ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@orangejuice6286 about 2-3 months i guess, few sources said dellienware is working on a new 34 qdoled v2, they will probably be first due to exclusive 34 inch panel contract with smasung, just like they were with 3423dw. The panels already exist, certified and i would bet in massproduction.
      But....there will be a fan inside afain, probably 2 and their qc is meh...but 3 years warrianty and burn in is a huge deal.
      I am personally waiting, no need to rush.

    I have the AW3423DWF. The desktop and game screens don’t fill the viewing space completely. There are 1/16 to 1/8 inch wide strips along two or three edges that are not filled in. Is this normal for an OLED monitor?

    • @FPtechtalk

      This is normal. It’s to allow screen shift which you generally don’t notice. This helps with burn in.

    What settings would you recommend? Just keeping it in hdr true black? There are so many calibration options i dont know where to start with it
    Also where do you get the ultrawide motion desktop backgrounds?

    • @lilpain1997

      The only real difference between both modes is truly just your peak luminance in small window, there is no colour difference or saturation difference between both. So DO NOT USE HDR 400 TRUE BLACK. What was said in this video is 100% false and 400 true black does not show off OLED better or have better accuracy in colour or even dynamic range. OLEDs in SDR still produce true blacks and even with the 1000 nits mode it will still produce true blacks. OLEDs will also have infinite contrast ratio regardless. Also do not use HDR while watching any SDR content, it will over saturate it or under saturate it. Leaving you with an inaccurate image

    • @lilpain1997
      @lilpain1997 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@alsius9162 for casual browsing you can just set it to SRGB mode which is what I did. this will make all standard browsing look how should, including games and movies in SDR. The standard pre set is DCI P3 which will just over saturate normal content. Once you want to go on a game that supports HDR or a HDR movie you can just use the windows shortcut before you go on to said media and it will swap to the HDR preset. This is how you basically have to use the monitor if you want an accurate image with everything

    • @lilpain1997
      @lilpain1997 ปีที่แล้ว

      If you pick HDR 1000 which is mode you should be running as, the only real difference between both modes is truly just your peak luminance in small window, there is no colour difference or saturation difference between both. You would just need to then use the shortcut for HDR on windows whenever you are viewing HDR content and it will just swap over to a HDR signal. Do not use HDR mode in SDR content as it produces inaccurate colours.
