Coming from a zowie 240hz, this monitor is amazing. Amazing colors amazing screen. Mostly I play CSGO at high fps but even though I'm going down to 165hz, it still doesn't give you any ghosting. It's amazing. There is no going back to Tn/Va/ LED. Oled is the way. And this is the best time to buy an OLED.
While OLED is good, I'd argue this is the worst time to buy OLED. We are still so early on in OLED panels that you're firmly in the early adopter camp right now. In 3-5 years this tech will mature, refresh rates will increase, and will be a much better time to buy. OLED has the response time to easily push >480hz panels and that's where this tech needs to go.
@@CosmicApewe are not early in OLED panels. Tech was invented in 1987 we aren’t going to see any revolutionary advancements. Refresh rates will keep going up but that’s about it. If you’re good with 165hz and .3ms response times go ahead and buy an oled. They have 240hz. The 500hz Alienware is a meme unless you’re an e sports god.
My first step into OLED gaming, but a return to ultra wide that I desperately missed. The HDR complaints are valid, but I don’t think they should sway users from buying it. Rocking an Nvidia card and it’s been a great experience.

That's good to know. I had this monitor before and tone mapping was abysmal. It was impossible to make look good. I may try it again but I don't personally like curved UW as much as flat 16:9.
You might want to emphasize the fact more importantly than support for FreeSync is support for VESA Variable Refresh Rate which all current cards support.

Any console, I repeat: any console will have black bars on the sides. Ultrawide + Console = bad time. If you don’t have black bars on the sides, that means the same 16:9 resolution is just stretched. I would look for a standard 16:9 monitor like the LG OLED
Bit of topic but would you get the oled LG 27 or the Dell alienware 27 DF 280 hertz ? Price wise I'm saving 700$ if I get the alienware what are your thoughts?
