The PS4 version has an advantage. You can install your custom tracks. Whereas on the Switch you can't but it is portable so tit for tat on their strengths. God i wish PS VITA did not go out early as it handled SRW V and X no problem plus install your own custom music tracks.

I love the SRW series. Honestly, as a kid, I only played Super Robot Taisen OG 1 & 2, and eventually got the chance to play Endless Frontier, and I also watched the anime (Inspectors), those are the only ones and I've been dying to get my hands on anything similar and part of the same series of course. @@SwitchWatch - Yup, highly recommend getting ahold of it if you have a GBA, DS, Gameboy Player, or emulation device to play it on...it's a spinoff of Konami's Zone of the Enders giant robot game series that was mildly popular on the PS2 and has gotten remastered re-releases on every PlayStation console since, as far as I know this game never got a re-release though and it's a shame because it's an absolute gem right along with the anime series which I also don't think has been re-released.

If You like It so much not knowing The series i highly recommend watching them, it's like playing Smash not knowing The characters and theres a Lot of stuff you miss. Does anyone know how to order the DLC on these? I have SRW T that I ordered from Amazon, but can't figure out how to get the DLC. I've even made a Japanese Switch account. Any help would be appreciated!
My copy just came in the mail today, so stoked!!! Also another title I would looooove to see come to the switch would be project x zone originally on the 3ds
They are contained stories, you don’t really need to know about a timeline. Although the bonus missions for T do have some connections to the other two games, but it’s not really very important. Yes, all of them have English. We have reviewed them all so follow the links in each review description to find the correct English ones 👍
@@SwitchWatch I believe the stories are the real draw to these games and the gameplay is just a bonus. There's an installment called SRW UX on the 3DS that I never played but I read a fan-translation on the internet and I was just amazed at how they interwoven mecha stories that are based on Lovecraft, Romance of the Three Kingdoms, and shell-shocked veterans of WW2, among other things, with a compelling original plot based on Hindu myths. It's my favorite of all SRW stories so far.
Weston Meyer you right. I enjoyed the Alpha series the most and z was great too. I wish they remake theAlphas and Z with english. OG 3rd gen on Ps3 is cool too.
If you're playing V, X, and T, always play T last. The three games' stories are self-contained, but T has unlockable scenarios in the middle of the story related to V and X. If you also somehow get ahold of the expansion pack for T set AFTER the events of the base game, you'll need to know what happened in V and X first because it serves as a finale for all three games. If you're not going for those unlockable scenarios, just play any of the three because they're all complete stories by themselves.
This game is arriving today! Super excited to finally play one since Super Robot Wars alpha(forgot which one, but one of the fan translation) on the ps1 and the two OG games on the GBA
If anyone is looking and are in the California area, Fry's in San Diego is selling physical copies both PS4 and Switch. Please pass the word. I don't think that they realize what they have.
So basically what he saying is that we can get “super robot wars X & T” and they will play in English on a switch? That means if we order the game from Amazon US or UK the games boxer and will be in Japanese but the game will run in English?
X definitely will. T is a little more tricky since the Japanese release doesn’t have English. However the South East Asian and Hong Kong versions do have English. Make sure to get those
This is basically the modern SRW EX(a game for the SNES and PS1). It is too bad that SRW OG 2nd(for the PS3) is Japanese only, because the beginning of that game actually takes place in La Gias because of EX's story taking place then(and the main character of Masoukishin(La Gias)and the classic series, Masaki Andoh is actually in X).
These games are more so fanservice for fans of Mecha anime if you arent invested in atleast 1 or 2 of them you wont enjoy them -_- This is a game designed to make you squee like a fan girl when you see 2 of your favorite chariters talking to one another
@@demi-fiendoftime3825 TBH that's why I picked up the game series. I watched different Mecha anime like Gundam, Geass, FMP, and even the recent sss.Gridman. I guess I'm not yet on the Weeb level of fan and still value gameplay.
This isn't even meant to be a challenging series so game wise it is really no match to top class SRPGsl. It really isn't impressive as a modern mecha game either when comparing to Daemon Machina. But heck back in Playstation 1 this is like the dopest game ever as mecha games were overall poorly made back in the days.
Out of pure curiosity, how interested are you in looking at the older SRW games? (outside of this channel ofc because they're non-switch) Edit: on other news, just downloaded the game on steam today, barely have the time to play it yet though unfortunately
@Weston Meyer There's a few bit more if he's willing to look for patches but as far as official goes yeah I guess. And even OG1 and OG2 is on the very old GBA lol. I do want to see what he thinks of Moon Dwellers' animation.
@Weston Meyer he's said before that this is a series he likes. I'd think that he's taken a look at a few of those games so if you don't get a response, it's probably safe to assume they like the gameplay a good bit.
@@SwitchWatch Because I'm a nut I actually started learning Japanese due to SRW lol. Anyway I might as well drop names on which games I know for sure have an english translation then; Official: Original Generations (GBA), Original Generations 2 (also GBA), Original Generations The Moon Dwellers (PS3/PS4 afaik, also beware the poor translation) Fan Patches: Alpha Gaiden (PSX), J (GBA), A Portable (PSP) Probably missed a few older games, as I currently don't have plans to play them. Notable among those are Alpha Gaiden and A Portable for being regarded as the harder games in the series, and (at least personally) Moon Dwellers for having criminally amazing animation.
Sadly it probably won’t happen, but who knows, I’ve been surprised by even less likely things happening. I’d say keep an eye on the Hong Kong eShop, if it’s on sale it will be more affordable
Man, I wish that these games were cheaper...I really liked the earlier games for the GB, FC, SFC, GBA, PS1, PSP, etc. but I really can't justify shelling out $60-80 a piece for import titles.
Y'all brother was in CEX and seen Fire emblem warriors for £20.00 picked it up my first Musou game and I'm hooked, looking at Hyrule warriors after this
The problem with Fire Emblem isn't not being "anime style " (because FE is already pretty anime looking), but crappy 3D scene animations (which is even more visible in Three Houses where cutscene animation was done by crappy SANZIGEN studio).
There's a sister franchise to this called Another Century's Episode that uses mechs that were also in Super Robot Wars, has crossover stories, but as an action game. Unfortunately, it never had an English translation. I think Another Century's Episode: R looks the best so far in that series. EDIT: Within the SRW franchise itself, there's Super Robot Wars OG Infinite Battle that has a similar third-person action but using only the original characters that were made for SRW.
Super Robot Wars have ALWAYS been Strategy RPGs. If you're looking for more action RPG like or 3rd person view action; this game isn't the type you're looking for unfortunately.
YOOOO MF NADIA?! Oh my god dude, I gotta play this. I'm confused though, I know the "Asian" version of this game has English subtitles, but does that mean the Japanese switch eshop version? If I buy the version that's on the Japanese switch eshop, can I change the language to English? Or is that only in other versions of the game released in other Asian countries? I'm considering T and V as well, so I have the same question for those.
For X and V yes you can buy from the Japanese eShop and it will boot up in English if you have your console set to English. T, no because it doesn’t have English. If you want T digitally, you’ll need the Hong Kong eShop.
So I got an early have additional with spend a time in Tac p and Exp to received it on so low 12000 vs Boss Final again his enemy are higher rate up to Exp 900000 I've got finally beat em a crap! So S Hard Mode
Better than Fire Emblem? The game that started this type of tactics genre?! I don’t know about that but I’m glad your enjoying this title! Lol! I suppose this has many characters. It’s in English?!?! Wow!! I’m surprised! Very nice!
@Weston Meyer nice info. Video Game history is awesome. History in general is great but you get to see what inspired what. It makes me mad that I found out about Dragon Quest so late. If not for DQ we wouldn’t have Finally Fantasy, or Pokémon, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger or Suoer Mario RPG and many other console RPGs after that.
If you're looking for an English SRW with Grendizer and okay with going retro, check out the fan-translation of Super Robot Wars A Portable. It's missing some of the newer features and gameplay mechanics of recent games though.

This game is arriving today! Super excited to finally play one since Super Robot Wars alpha(forgot which one, but one of the fan translation) on the ps1 and the two OG games on the GBA
Have a great time with it bud!
@@SwitchWatch oh I plan on it!
Alpha Gaiden
It's SRT Alpha Gaiden - The entry with greatest plot of all SRT.
You guys are the reason I purchased T and now the reason I purchase the other two. 😂 I guess that makes me crazy too.
I'm spreading crazy around the world haha
If anyone is looking and are in the California area, Fry's in San Diego is selling physical copies both PS4 and Switch.
Please pass the word. I don't think that they realize what they have.
Cool review Jordan like always.. I like the cutscenes
Cheers Craig!
Is that a link to all the titles?
Are you talking about the purchase links? Or are the games linked by a story?
is this coming to the east? or USA?
Probably not unfortunately
Which one is the best? X or V or T??
T!
@@SwitchWatch thank youuu!
Which of the three is the best t or v or x?
T or X are pretty equal for me. I like the setting and premise of X more, but prefer the characters in T
@@SwitchWatch thanks alot
V is the best. Then T and last X.
Yeah I am playing on Switch Light the animations are amazing!
how'd you get it in english?
The Japanese or Asian Switch version has English
@@SwitchWatch oh ok thank you
Checking back in on this, 1/13/2020
"I fully realize I may be a crazy person." 👍😅
Code Geass mechs are dlc??
No, they're in the base game.
Make sure to get those
SwitchWatch so if I get the SRW X from amazon as a Japanese import, I could theoretically play it in English?
It will play in English as long as you have you system set to English (which I’m guessing you have)
Toxic3610 Not theoretically. The first sentence of his reply was X definitely will.
Whelp! Looks like im ordering. But i guess i knew that already lol
😂 hope you enjoy it
Wow this feels like Front Mission from PS1
So the Japanese version has English as well?
Yes it does buddy
Isn’t only the “Asian” version the one with the English subs? I think the Japanese one is only in Japanese.
@Ogami that's great then. Thanks!
great job and thanks for the review Jordan!
Cheers my dude!
Eagerly awaiting my import to get here. Should have it in a few days.
Hope it arrives quickly!
I will add this to my collection
This is basically the modern SRW EX(a game for the SNES and PS1).
It is too bad that SRW OG 2nd(for the PS3) is Japanese only, because the beginning of that game actually takes place in La Gias because of EX's story taking place then(and the main character of Masoukishin(La Gias)and the classic series, Masaki Andoh is actually in X).
What can I get for the ps2 or ps3 as far as SRW in English though. Also what about Vita or 3ds?? Thanks in advance sir.
I played a bit of these Super Robot Taisen series on SNES and GBA but it makes me drop it, I find it inferior to FE and even AW.
(outside of this channel ofc because they're non-switch)
Edit: on other news, just downloaded the game on steam today, barely have the time to play it yet though unfortunately
Definitely would love to give them a try if they had English. The story is important to me
@@SwitchWatch Because I'm a nut I actually started learning Japanese due to SRW lol. Anyway I might as well drop names on which games I know for sure have an english translation then;
Official: Original Generations (GBA), Original Generations 2 (also GBA), Original Generations The Moon Dwellers (PS3/PS4 afaik, also beware the poor translation)
Fan Patches: Alpha Gaiden (PSX), J (GBA), A Portable (PSP)
Probably missed a few older games, as I currently don't have plans to play them. Notable among those are Alpha Gaiden and A Portable for being regarded as the harder games in the series, and (at least personally) Moon Dwellers for having criminally amazing animation.
Im intrigued, but not 55+ € intrigued. Maybe once theres a sale or european release. Great review btw
Indeed, if they were 20$ cheaper I'm sure they wouldn't be able to export them to westerns fast enough!
I saw gurren lagann and was sold...
Jordan, on the highest difficulty it is by far not easy.
Just got this also!
Y'all brother was in CEX and seen Fire emblem warriors for £20.00 picked it up my first Musou game and I'm hooked, looking at Hyrule warriors after this
Hyrule is even better, so you’re in for a treat!
really love this style of gameplay (crossing finger for queens blade be ported to switch 😁😁😁)
Will you be picking this one up?
@@SwitchWatch not for this month saving $ for tokyo mirage 😉
Thanks!
Awesome Review!
Just picked up a used copy of SD Gundam G Generation Cross Rays ($1200 NTD / $40 USD). What a steal!!
Wow great price!
where is srw new games already 2020
Maybe next year I would think.
THANK YOU!!! Finally someone else agrees that Fire Emblem would benefit from anime style battle scenes
I always thought people would hate me for saying that haha
@@SwitchWatch who could hate you guys?
The problem with Fire Emblem isn't not being "anime style " (because FE is already pretty anime looking), but crappy 3D scene animations (which is even more visible in Three Houses where cutscene animation was done by crappy SANZIGEN studio).
I wish this was an action RPG 😁😁😁
Great job
Cheers Cory!
Lol Bandai owns the licenses.
Better than Fire Emblem? The game that started this type of tactics genre?! I don’t know about that but I’m glad your enjoying this title! Lol! I suppose this has many characters. It’s in English?!?! Wow!! I’m surprised! Very nice!
Yeah great that it can be played in English :D
@Weston Meyer nice info. Video Game history is awesome. History in general is great but you get to see what inspired what. It makes me mad that I found out about Dragon Quest so late. If not for DQ we wouldn’t have Finally Fantasy, or Pokémon, Earthbound, Chrono Trigger or Suoer Mario RPG and many other console RPGs after that.
me too. i don't care about mech and anime. but i love super robot wars series 😅
We need transformers in srw
I really want it but I'm too fucking poor.
Still no Grendizer & Gaiking..*Sighh*
If you're looking for an English SRW with Grendizer and okay with going retro, check out the fan-translation of Super Robot Wars A Portable. It's missing some of the newer features and gameplay mechanics of recent games though.
