Here's hoping that Dandai is gonna release OGs, 2rd OG and The Moon Dwellers on Steam. They have (almost) zero copyright issues, they need little upscaling work, and they even have a translation made for free. 😂
I recently started playing Original Generation as my first SRW game and it's been fun, just beat the Kyosuke route. Good to know that there is a remake with a translation. I had a rought start but after getting how everything works i really had a blast.
Hell yeah! Finally, you cover this game. It's my favourite SRPG franchise ever along with Fire Emblem (since they both have the same mechanic) SRW OG 1 is good but OG 2 is even better (gba gamewise). The sequel improves a lot of stuff like the addition of moving sprites so it makes battle animation more dynamic (past games only had still images of the mech and didn't move that much). Said addition was also present in the other gba SRW title that is SRW J which also had unofficial english translation (which A, D, and R do not). I suggest that you check that one too since it's really good! Great video btw, I highly enjoyed it!
Now that a crossover like 30 managed to get an official western release (including the super fancy edition with the original theme songs), I'm quite positive that we will see the next OG game on PC in English available worldwide. I still can't believe we got a crossover SRW game released in the West.
Huh, I never realized that the animation is perfect in native mode if not for this video. Always thought it's like Alpha 3 and other PS2 era game, with native mode being something like 480p video stretched over my screen. Thanks! I certainly can tolerate some tearing on the normal map for the animation.
The sad part is that I did know you can do this, but somehow failed to mention it. I made a lot of dumb little mistakes in this video, like also failing to mention Will/Morale in the OG GBA section.
The next game will be available online on pc because it's not a licensing nightmare, he says. And then we got srw 30 worldwide on steam. Also, great video
Oh, I'm just as surprised as anyone else to see Super Robot Wars 30 actually get a full official release worldwide. I still can't believe it really happened.
It was on the Top 10 of the Steam charts when it was announced, so I'm confident it will do at least decent. The question is whether it will be enough to outweigh the presumably higher licensing costs compared to something like the Original Generation games, or G Generation which is Gundam only.
Tried out the GB game but found it kinda boring. Now I gotta try it out again 😉 btw are you gonna do a video on DQM2 because of the new translation patch?
To the "low tech game" point, I actually prefer that over the craziness of the later games. Enjoy the more "gritty" feel of the battles, especially against bosses.
I should have expected this, what with the SD Gundam videos, but this still surprised me, in a good way. I like these games a lot when I first played them on GBA, and when I found out it got a translation, I bought a copy of OGs online because I don't like piracy. I grabbed OGG too, holding out the hope that it would be next on the translation list.
What a good game! I reget to never have played it back in the day. Its just that the fan translstions were awful. I went for SD The Great Battle instead.
Thanks!

Replay OG1 and OG2 a lot and it never gets old fully upgrading the knife. Damn thing is lethal with high crit rates can make mincemeat of bosses
13:59 by pressing the Start Button you can change the angle of the camera for a more top down view like its GBA counterpart
Heck yeah, more Merry! Can't get enough
I just pray they can make another OG and actually sell it overseas on steam.

When they release every 6-7 years a New OG Game we are screwed.
They should do a full reboot
With models from Infinite Battle or something

Merrybytes. I like your style!
My brother loved the shit out of this game
1,000 subscriber here!
9:08 omg you actually acknowledged the nonsense that is crop heads thank you for validating me xD
Are you going to cover Original Generation 2 as well?
Yes, although I'm not sure when.
With all these info, I'm surprised that you totally missed pressing START to change the view (of OG PS2) to be top down that makes it easier to see.
The sad part is that I did know you can do this, but somehow failed to mention it. I made a lot of dumb little mistakes in this video, like also failing to mention Will/Morale in the OG GBA section.
@@MerryBytes it's alright, just a small gripe. The video is great and worth watching.
Love these games
Man I love this series, sadly it seems the og story will be left unfinished considering the current state of SRW. I hope I'm wrong😢
I only have OG 2 for GBA.
The only series that doesn't get their budget cut.
The main home console crossover games starting from Z3.1 do starts to suffer from that issue.

@@MerryBytes im personally hoping 30 does well and bamco decides to cash in on the worldwide fanbase with remakes. Alpha remakes

Yep, with the translation being released now is the best time.

Ayo what's going on here.🧐
Just some good old immature humor.
I played super robot wars J for GBA and super robot wars W for Nintendo DS both translated to English

Full busts
18:20 Excuse me whaaaat? 😟
I am very mature!
@@MerryBytes Oh, so you can name them! 😅
I was worried that the Translators were too much into changing stuff for the lulz.
hell yeah :-D stupid German words as Names for Robots (Weissretter = white savior / rescuer)
Excellen Browning Robot is called "Weissritter" not "Weissretter" -_-
It means "White Knight"
^
And more specifically, Weißritter.
@@マジンガーZ-u7t sorry my bad did read that wrong :D and yeah it should be Weißritter
