I usually take between 80 - 100 hours to finish the recent SRW games. It really depends if you watch the animations, do DLC missions, read the dialogues, and take your time to upgrade and arm your units. If you skip most of that, yeah you could easily finish SRW30 in around 40 hours, but it took me close to 90 hours.

@@MikeSmith-db6sf Yes. It gets upgraded to the Huckebein 30th and basically gains the Black Hole Cannon, plus a slightly different animation for all the previous attacks. It's a little underwhelming, especially when compared to other Huckebeins. After seeing Ing's Exexbein, the Huckebein 30th is pretty basic. Then again, SRW30 is a little disappointing with its attack animations compared to older SRW games.

Already finished my first run and loved the game. I really appreciate how the writing team took advantage of the increase of available missions to flesh out a lot of the characters and give everyone small moments where they interact with one another.
Considering how bad the pandemic is in Japan, it is amazing that they were able to pull this off only two years after the previous SRW game.

The Project X Zone of the Mecha genre has finally got a mainline entry in the West. Just like with PXZ, which helped players into discovering and enjoying all those great video game franchises, Super Robot Wars can help get people into enjoying those classic Mecha series from both the past and present.
At least, they were able to bring an entry that has little to no licensing issues for the West, and hopefully they continue in that direction. We barely have any Mecha-based video games in the West and this one is a good starting point at renewing interest in them.
I don't mind playing an easy game, especially as we've seen a lot of punishing games in the past decade or so. Enjoying a good story without having to throw away my controller/handheld device at the wall in frustration is what I prefer and if the game offers such an option, then I'm in good hands.

Been playing SRW since OG1 and OG2 on GBA. Mechs aside, SRW is a pretty solid SRPG. Utilizing support attack/defends, balancing ammo, energy and SP use. It's not terribly difficult but I would rank it up there with fire emblem.

I really want this game, but something tells me that soon there's going to be a US release of the PS4 version with the DLC a la Game of the Year Edition or something like that. If not then I'll import the version with the DLC from Play Asia since I don't play on Steam and I want those Trophies on my PSN account. Still enjoyed V and X and can't wait to get into T, shame I can't get the expansion DLC without jumping though hoops but them's the breaks I guess. Though I wonder if at some point there's going to be an OG Generation collection at some point in the future if this games' sales are good enough.

Nice quick review. In my opinion, SRW 30 is a good mainline SRW game just like the others that came before it, but I can’t shake the feeling that this will be the last mainline SRW game for a good while....Bandai Namco has already emphasized a very telling “お願いします!” several times during their livestreams leading up to release, after all, they did spend a LOT on licensing again including finally bringing back Victory Gundam. The new Missions feature also portends a long break for the mainline series.
In any case, I yearn for the return of the “hot-bloodedness” that SRW used to be known for...that’s why I’m hoping that the SRW OG Team can get back to work. The OG games’ animations are top-notch and truly hot-blooded as opposed to the newer mainline games’ sluggish, more...”artistic” animation style. The games run on vastly different animation engines after all.
In closing, I REALLY hope that at least OG 2nd and Moon Dwellers can be ported to the Nintendo Switch along with a subsequent announcement of OG3.

Just the fact we have the return to the lead heroine trio from Magical Knight Rayearth return to the series as playable units complete with their iconic combination finishing moves Flash Spark and Flash Sword after their first and seemingly last appearance in Super Robot Wars T as well as the debut of Gridman and the Grid-Squad from SSSS: Gridman as a playable team complete with the finishing move being Hyper Agent Gridman aka "Spoiler Alert for SSSS: Gridman episode 12's final fight" the OG version of Gridman showing up to kick villainous mech ass to an instrumental version of Yume No Hero the opening theme to OG live-action show Choujin Denka Gridman is awesome.

  • @gembocobo9484
    @gembocobo9484 ปีที่แล้ว

I love it as it is but I hope if they change anything for the future installments of the game they add elements from other cool strategy rpg games like Front Mission and Valkyria Chronicles. in particular instead of having to upgrade individual units make it a matter of leveling up classes as a group [maybe in terms of Supers or Reals or in terms of what can be loosely organized into Tanks/DPS/Supports] as was done VC.
Keep the attack animations flashy but it'd be more satisfying if the lead up to executing them were done like in super robot taisen endless frontier way back on the NDS or like in Valkyrie Profile [specifically Covenant of the plume also from the DS]. If they try to do it like VP it can even lead to customized combination attacks where players would be allowed to make Squadrons of mixed units [maybe 3-4] bound to the respective face buttons. Then the battle system in general could be a hybrid version of how it was handled in Valkyrie Profile 2 [in the ps2] and Valkyria Chronicles 1-3 [ vc1-ps3 / vc2&3-psp].
When they announced the extra difficulty I was hoping for at least the bare minimum of something like the system that was used for Zone of the Enders Fist of Mars [GBA] that was basically a SRT game version of Zone of the Enders. Instead they just went and removed the power leveling tricks, increased the XP cap for lvl ups which is was ok to me, but for others it didn't really make the game tougher in a good way. It just became more tedious and grindy which can be a huge turn off to potential new players to the franchise.
I love SRT and would be really all for a level of success as seen with Fire Emblem. The Animations for the Attacks are already as good as it can get so I think more focus should be invested in expanding the gameplay elements and challenge that the game can offer. Not just cheap difficulty adjustments like buffed enemy stat and nerfed player units but an expansion to aspects of strategic combat that to be fair was already explored by other great SRPGs out there.
It wouldn't hurt to mix what worked well with others so that the players experience would expand for Super Robot Wars. The Bare minimum would be to do a SRT game that's basically a robo-themed remix of the Project X Zone approach.
All in all thanks for this upload!

VXT are pretty much standalone while in different narrative setting in each installment. Even though they share many repeat robots they did add twist where some OP units from V ain’t so great so you prefer to use new unit they buff the heck out of for that installment. I believe the reason they add Earth and Space route on the game is to make casual fan like me to enjoy next installment differently since Earth focus more of Super Robot and Space focus more on Real Robots (Mobile Suits). 30 feels more like a dream match which is freedom for players to choose how they play and feel power fantasy compare to VXT

Every installment was huge graphical improvement and after picking up 30 expecting ridiculous animation but overall disappointment on the cinematic side. Story was all over the places and felt incoherent compare to previous entry due to selectable stages, however after sinking time into it is definitely fun and challenge is there if you want to limit your self from no returning to ship, no spirit, and etc. Overall 30 reignite my love for SRW and made me buy VXT and emulate previous series

But SRW isn't like that, it was never like that. Progression supposed to make you feel rewarding, having auto means it's less rewarding cause other people can still get to where you are by taking it easy. Hopefully that won't be in the future SRW games. Lol 😂

As a fan of this serie since Srw 4 on the snes i think this game it's pretty meh, the cast is not that interesting, some animations are recycled from the previous games and the removal ok skill points removes what little challenge was left in this serie, leaving a game even a rock can beat with no effort. Yeah, I totally understand the feeling. The hardest difficulty on these newer SRW games are actually easy due to increased accessibility changes to the core game mechanics, especially this time around with SRW 30. I’d have to play Alpha Gaiden and F/F Final again for a real challenge, as those games almost always put the player at a big disadvantage with extremely powerful foes and limited resources...but through all that experience, it made me a good SRW strategist over the years. That’s why I can also vouch that these newer games are piss easy, but still entertaining nonetheless. XD
