I’m no where near someone who plays what’s considered “skill heroes” like bap. To me, this is impressive as hell and the most skilled healer I play is Zen and I’m just learning him. Great stuff dude

I went from gold 3 to plat 4 yesterday on support. I didn't even know you could gain that much SR/climb that fast. I won 7 out of 8 games I played though, but still surprised me

The biggest thing holding me back is my aim lol, I played OW1 mainly on console and didn't play a lot of Bap but been wanting to pick someone else up besides Brig and Moira. I'm pretty good at aiming his AOE healing, but as soon as Genji pops into my backline it looks like I'm having a stroke or something cuz I get anxious 🤣

I don't know if anyone else is having this experience but I'm genuinely getting fed up with the ranked experience, I've played the game since launch and have peaked mid masters on consolse. I switched to pc about 2 years ago and had to basically had to relearn stuff because of how fast the game changes. I've put in the time, the aim, the game sense everything and was really looking forward to OW2 for a clean slate. To be met with games where I'm having to explain to a genji why he cant 1v5 or why I cant heal them through a wall is really frustrating. I have now completed 4 placement ranks for support and haven't moved out of plat 4. I'm really trying to stay motivated to play but when u manage to get 7 wins and your rank doesn't move, it just really makes me upset and unmotivated. I don't even get angry anymore at the game its just more so numbness and disappointment. It makes me genuinely sad to feel stuck.
I’m feeling the same numbness. It’s so frustrating as a support-main it feels like you just can’t do anything doesn’t matter how much I heal, how much I dmg, how many kills I get the team keeps running off into flanking death traps all the time and running into 5 people who are full health and wanting me to follow them and blaming me when they die. I used to be diamond now I’m hard stuck gold playing with bronces and losing all motivation to even rank when the matches feel like quick play and people don’t even know how to use their characters.

in my team and I forgot to avoid him and his gold duo. They were the same ones. One was half decent but the other one was entirely new to the game I swear. Didn't place a translocator as Sombra and only hacked healthpacks, never flew as echo and just sat there. He would run into a rein that was swinging hammer while shooting. Multiple instances he ran into the enemy team to 1v5 and the other idiot who was queued with him followed and they both died. I watched both replays and I swear that he's never played the game before in his life but is only in my game because his duo was gold. In the end they had more deaths than the rest of our team combined, 4 and 15 in 7 minutes

I tell you what works really well with zyra, zen and mercy. You damage boost zyra and discord thier target and it's basically game over, you don't even need to heal as the mercy half time, cause the zen can just keep orb on her. Zyra just becomes a death machine
Zenyatta/Mercy is a pretty terrible healer duo, to be honest. Yeah you get double damage boost, but that's balanced out by having some of the worst healing output of any support pairing. (Hell, Moira puts out more healing by herself than both of those two combined) Mercy wants to pair with a main healer who can take care of the tank while she pockets whoever is making a play or needs help in the moment, her biggest strength her is her flexibility and that's severely hamstrung if she has to cling to the tank. Now, if your lineup looks something like Zarya, Soldier, Sombra, Zenyatta, Mercy then maybe I can see it, since that DPS line is pretty self-sufficient.
@@kevingriffith6011 its map dependant. When you run low healing sup duos. Its a team game and your dps and tank can simply take a different approach that accomadates the low healing output.
Zen/mercy has all ways been strong. Its played at the highest level of of OWL and ranked. You dont "need" a main healer. As a team you need to effectively utilize the resources your team can provide and play accordingly. If you can do thatm the combo is great.

Mercy is a good hero, don't let anybody tell you otherwise. But she is 100% the most dependent on her team. It's still a mystery to me where the only support that 100% of her abilities focus on her team doesn't have the highest HPS but ig the morons at Blizzard don't get paid enough to think about it

@@nitely2345 You should never be truly alone as Mercy unless you're walking back from spawn. Sometimes it happens, but it's very important that you always have a teammate to GA to.
That being said, Mercy can absolutely carry at any rank, but it's a measure of your ability to read the game, to know who needs help and when. You can't just hide around a corner and heal the tank and top people up all game. Remember, it's not your job to keep your whole team alive, it's your job to win the game... and sometimes that means picking who is going to win you the game vs who isn't getting any value. If your team's genji goes in with blade and you help him kill 3, what does it matter that your tank died? Maybe let the other healer take care of topping people up if it means you can damage boost your Ash and get Bob faster... at 1600 SR he's absolutely your best damage boost target.

Good stuff! Btw, why is Zen good with Sigma?
Three main reasons: Sigma and Zenyatta have the same win condition, they are poke heroes that want to grind their enemies down from long range and force them to take a bad fight, so naturally they work well together.
Second, Sigma probably needs the least direct attention from a support than any other tank, and that includes Roadhog. 700 HP of fast-recharging deployable shield, 200 HP of regenerating personal shields and a temporary near-invulnerability button that gives him overhealth, he can absorb *so much damage* before he even needs to think about getting help from a support. Zenyatta has probably the lowest healing output of any support in the game, so a less healing dependent tank means he can apply his healing to other members of his team and spend more time just lobbing pain downrange.
Finally, when Sigma's defenses *do* get overwhelmed, Zen has one of the best defensive ultimates in the game to cover him until he's ready to get back into the fight. All the work the enemy did to make their big push and Zen just has to press Q and they're back to square 1.

That all makes sense and might explain why I've been doing well with my friend who plays Zen.
I would agree with you play your best hero up until masters but for the sanity of tank players (including myself), plz don't play 2 of the following 3 combined, mercy Lucio or zen. It can sometimes work, but at the very least plz if it doesn't work swap.
Sometimes you won't be able to do anything meaningful as tank with 2 of these 3 combined because there is just to much burst damage or a rein hammering away in your face.
The feeling goes both ways for Tanks, especially ones that go JQ or Doom (lemme edit in ball too haha). They’re either literal cracked gods, or absolute dogshit. There is no in-between from what I’ve seen.

Bap’s gun does 25 damage per hit (before damage falloff) this means that a full three-round burst is 75 damage which is more than Cassidy’s gun
The thing about Bap is that he doesn't have to stop healing to do damage thanks to the slow firing rate of his healing nades. There are two tempos: Heal - Shoot - Heal to maximize your healing output, and Heal - Shoot - Shoot - Heal which gives you a lot more damage and doesn't cut into your healing that much. The trick is being able to *constantly* flick from target to target over and over again, doing it right takes a lot of practice and strong mechanics.
