For all the times a single stupid metal pipe blocked my ult on last and cost me the game, it's time for revenge.
The change is fine, they just need to add a visual indicator at all heights that are affected.

The solution for making this less broken is to make the ult only work if you're in LoS of anywhere on the circle (instead of the centre like it used to be)

I mean out of all the tanks i really don't mind sig being good. Him and rein are super fun to play against, with and as. Peak hero design imo, thematically and gameplay wise
I do think the change lowers the skill off hitting big fluxes but I do think that they need to add a visual indicator at all heights

this happened to me on the samoa beach map. i was playing under the point in the little caves and had no idea where sigma had placed his ult but i got lifted
The buff seems like it'll mostly be good for keeping Sig ult from being so easy to escape from by just running around some tiny LoS (or being blocked entirely by a good LW)
Looks like in practice it's just kinda bad to try and go for on its own because there's barely any follow-up potential, and at worst it completely misses and wastes a really damn good ult
Honestly, with how much counterplay this ult has already, I think this is actually balanced.

maybe make it so it can only grab you through walls if you're jumping height or lower, the vertical range is silly
way harder for sleep dart to land

Sombra hack - he ults behind a wall or from several rooms away. you have no idea where he is and can’t physically get to him in time to interrupt. Get caught.
Orisa spear - he can safely ult through a wall. You can’t hit him.
Sigma rock - see above
Cass nade - see above
Mei blizzard - see above. Also he could just fly over it.
Ana sleep - see above
Brig bash - see above
@@Theguyoverthere603 if you don't know where the enemy Sigma is or can't get to him as Sombra, you have some major problems. There's very few places this LOS thing can be abused and it actually be better than just ulting normally.

He can literally ult from several walls away and you have no idea where it’s coming from. Sleep? Hack? Nope, he’s several rooms away. Movement abilities? Nope, you can’t even tell where to dash or how to time it because the animation is hidden beneath the floor. Where’s the counterplay?
@@Theguyoverthere603 sigma players already duck and weave and hide once they use their ult so…. Again, all the same counters, DPS just need to be quicker idk…

Why are people always shocked when ults are powerful? Like, that's the point of ults, lol. A problem only arises when someone gets said powerful ult too fast, and that's where ult cost comes in

What the sigma
Can we all just unanimously admit that striving for a perfect balance, even though being an obviously impossible mission will still achieve better balancing results and feel than this random "spin-the-wheel" flavor of the month balance philosophy? At least for me, I completely disagree with people like Flats that want the game to do balance changes just for the sake of shaking up the meta, even if most people agree that the current meta is fun. like they did with season 9. it was overall praised and instead of progressively fine tuning it to an even better state, they just start tweaking and turning random things, out of the blue crazy nerfs or buffs... get your shit together blizzard

7 years wasn’t enough proof for you? They never will. They don’t want to. This game will always have something stupid, broken, and busted. It’s not about whether players are having fun, it’s about the money. I find that I enjoy the game a lot more when I accept the manic hilarious nature of this shit. This isn’t that broken in practice, but it is damn funny when you stop and accept it for what it is.
This is actually the worse change in the game. Why tf would you buff the strongest ult in the game? There’s too many apologetic buffs getting added, that now you can just do random shit and still win.

Sigma ult has always been good but this just makes Sigma able to predict where the enemies are and just go for it. I don't think it's broken yet, not until I actually see what plays he could make knowing this.
he can hide and not worry about getting canceled at all. you can get fluxed without seeing the indicator for it at all when you're in a room and sigma fluxes the roof. the issue with sigma ult is the mobility creep with every new hero having a dash

Hanzos ult goes through walls and he has another ability to see through walls to better line up the shot. I see no issue with a tank getting the same treatment

There's no counterplay to it, except burrow/sleep dart/lamp/suzu/punch/hook/grip/ice block/wraith/fade/flying/hacking and emp/bubbles/trans/beat...oh, and let's not forget every single movement ability in the game.
As an anna, sleep him. As a hog, hook him. As a sigma rock him. As a sombra hack him, as a brig, bash him as a orisa spear him. As a bap throw down lamp and burst heal team. Luceo bust it down. Idk how much more counter you need?
