Old Overwatch there was 2 choices when down 1. Backup and regroup (if able) or go in aggressive and hopefully clutch (if can't regroup). Now there is only 1 choice as it is really hard to back up safely with the dps passive.

I'm new to the game, I've always liked to play support and I always get locked by the DPS.
Any tips on how to survive or run or don't get killed?

- Use map geometry to your advantage - hide behind walls/corners/payload and peek only when necessary.
- Make sure to learn good positioning! Watching some hero guides can help you there.
- Don't waste your cooldowns. If your teammate is not at the risk of immediate death, don't waste that Ana 'nade / Kiriko's suzu / Bap's immortality & shift / etc.. Save them for when they are really needed.
- Don't be tempted to save dumbass teammates who went in too deep and fight a losing battle (i.e. 1v3 or more) - most likely outcome of that is you'll die with them and feed the enemies ult charge. Prioritize your survival. (On the other hand, feel free to help if your presence can turn the battle - for example it's 1v1, tank vs 2 squishies or the enemies are v.hurt and dumb).
- If it's safe, close the distance towards a teammate that can be helpful. For example, an annoying Genji will not be happy in the close presence of a Moira or a Reinhardt, especially if he runs out of cooldowns.
- Ping the location of the harassers! If you have smart teammates, they are likely to be tempted by the presence of a juicy target separated from their team.
- Sometimes the fights are just irreversibly lost and it's better to die ASAP (to join the team faster) or jump off the map (to deny the enemies ult charge). However, if staying alive still is worthwhile, you can make aiming at you more difficult by hiding your head hitbox (turning around & looking towards the ground) or "spazzing out" - AD spam, irregular crouching, jiggling the mouse. And, again, use cover - find something to break line of sight.
Finally, accept that not all matches can be won and it's the sad fate of a support to be harassed non-stop XD
