    Thank you for the video . I am in the process of collecting all Cash-Register theft evidence . Theft went on for 40 days . I will be extracting hundreds of clips. Your video made it simple , thanks again.

    Thank you!! I work in IT and just received footage of a safety incident for a client. 14k pound motor dropped from the ceiling. The client was sent the footage from another location but was unable to open BVR files and did not have Blue Iris on his PC.
    A quick Google search and I realized .BVR was proprietary to Blue Iris. I was able to get the demo and play the footage cfor him. He wants me to trim the footage and export it to MP4. He was told it was possible by the Electrical Engineers at that work site so I started digging... Found Export options in the settings but still couldn't figure out how to clip and export it. This video was really perfect and very informative! It will make my workday tomorrow a lot smoother as I'm on a deadline to provide the footage.

    I was wondering how you got your PTZ to follow the person / mailman. I have a ptz that is capable but never found clear instructions on how to do it.

      @@wildthoughts6959 you set that up with the camera's software. Blue Iris is only a tool for recording the camera's streams. It cannot change settings of the camera.

    "Set start/end frame" is grayed out when I try to do this. Any tips?

    I record on continuous. What if the footage you want to save is over the 1 hour that you have in that single clip and spans across multiple clips, (in your case over the hour limit on that end point you have i.e. you want the next 2 hours of footage)? Do you have to save multiple clips separately?

    It would be helpful if you had a video that tells us what ver BI you are using and also how you setup the s/w; my BI 5 looks nothing like yours. It would be helpful if I'm watching your videos (sub'd) and watching you explain functions, bu t I really cant because the setups are different.

    How can I set up an external hard drive to blue iris to constantly record and override when full on 4 tb? Does it save automatically to the computer? And uses computer storage? It's not external server storage which is the whole point of bi. Confused as to how it saves these videos...

    • @ShaunPuzon
      @ShaunPuzon 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      All clips are saved to the computer. You can save the clips to an external drive, but you need to tell Blue Iris to route the clips to it rather than to the computer's local disk. These settings can be found in the clips and archiving tab in Blue Iris's main settings window.

    So when you put the profile to Inactive does that mean that BI is no longer recording?

    Hi Richard, My friends car was vandalized while we went out of town around 12am. I have the people walking by on camera but was wondering what would be the best export settings for quality. I need to give the video to the police and want it as best as i can get it.

    i have 9 cameras with a dvr that are connected with bi ... i would like to know if i could also add/use wifi cameras that is not connected to the dvr?

    • @hometechvideo5068
      @hometechvideo5068  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Blue Iris is capable of supporting wifi cameras. Nothing needs to be connected to a "DVR" for blue iris to work.... thats the purpose of Blue Iris to be a NVR/DVR

      If the cameras are Poe then you would need to buy a poe switch.
      All cameras --> poe switch --> Router

      @@hometechvideo5068 DVR camera are usually not IP cameras . They don't work with routers .

      Hello, currently Blue Iris itself does not support Auto Tracking (following the mailman). This is a feature that must be setup within the actual camera GUI if your camera supports it. The camera being used in this video is a SD52C225U-HNI 2MP 25x Starlight.
      Blue Iris however DOES support and can make a PTZ camera move to a preset position based on another camera trigger but the PTZ camera will not follow the object. I'll show how to set this up in another video.

      If the clips are cut into multiple videos I don't think there is a way to save them as one file. Workaround maybe to batch convert to mp4 and use third party program to stitch the videos together.
      As far as the language there is only 1 person in charge of developing and support for Blue Iris. I'm fairly certain English is the only language he will put out a help file in.

      Jerry Nguyen Auto tracking is done camera settings side (if your camera supports it) not in blue iris

    I think the obvious feature that would be useful is to export multiple cameras at the same time to individual files. It is common to have more than one camera covering an area from different angles. But, I suppose exporting videos is rare for most people.
