Great video, thanks for taking the time to create the missing \profile tutorial!

Although Blue iris has changed a lot and some things are in different places. This is still useful.

Very informative and detailed. At 1:12 you mention different behavioral presets for day/night use. Can you elaborate on how to do that?

That's an awesome tutorial. Thank you for that. I have been using BI for a few years now and I never muck around with the profile because I never really understood it. I manually go and change things manually every time and it is a pain. I'm going to attempt to set this up. How do you automatically change profiles or is that possible? For instance, I have one profile for daytime and one for night time and at night say 8 PM, it automatically switches to the night profile. Is that possible?

You didn't even mention the global scheduler tab.

Great video, Richard! Many thanks. Quick question: When I try to copy my Profile #1 settings to Profile #2 (as you explain toward the end of your video) only the settings from that one camera are copied over. Is there a way to copy ALL of the settings from one profile to another? I have 16 cameras so this would save a great deal of time. I just want to clone the entire profile and then make some small changes to the others.

While having the profile selected on the camera you want to copy to the other profiles just hit copy/paste all. This will only copy that cameras profile setting to the other profiles of that camera. Not your other cameras

Thank you for your very speedy reply. So, if I am reading this right, there is no way to clone the entire profile, just one camera at a time?

Dan Jackson Only way to do that would be the "import and export" under the camera 'general' tab. I'm not sure why you would want to copy profile setting from one can to another. I use zones/hotspots and alerts and config these setting individually per camera. A import setting from another camera would really make my camera do crazy things lol

Thanks for your reply. Craig and I were discussing something different. I am looking for a way to copy an entire PROFILE which would include the settings for all camera. I don't want to apply one camera's settings to another camera. I want to "clone" an entire profile (all cameras) to another profile and then make minor changes to a couple of cameras within that second profile.

Oops, My mistake. It was you that I was communicating with, not Craig. Anyway, you get the idea. I was hoping to clone an entire Profile to another Profile because I have such a complicated setup and so many cameras. Thanks again for your help.

Why disable any camera? You paid for them. Keep the video protection going continuous. Hypothetical, a TRUCK just drove across your lawn and plowed into your HOUSE while you are AT HOME. Now you just lost all video of it. Just saying...... I know you are explaining the many options of Blue Iris. Just keep that in mind. Another great video.
