    Even though these videos are now 7 years old (at the time of me typing this) and the software has changed a little, they are extremely useful. Very good explanation and tips. Great job, thanks for sharing.

    OK I have a 4k camera, and I'm having trouble with it detecting a person walking or even a car. some times it dose some times it down. I have been messing with it. so I can get Deepstack to detect people cars trucks ect. it detected a person but once I played the video new person was seen but on a canceled video the person was one clip a head of the clip showing a person was detected. all my other cameras work fine no problems and they are all 5mp cameras, all working with sub streams, and work flawlessly. So what do I need to set for the 4k aka 8mp camera

    Just tried Blue Iris today after getting fed up with iSpy motion detection false alarms, its amazing!

  • @Purifiedinfire
    @Purifiedinfire ปีที่แล้ว

    Is this being done after the fact? or a screen recording while walking?
    I am trying to playback a clip with analyze with motion detection turned on. But I don't see sense, motion or trigger go black when playing back, and playback controls are locked when the settings windows are open.

    Hello.. i have a little mater.. i want to make blueiris just for surveillance without record and triger, because i don't have space enough. Tell me how to sett or to turn off auto triger in blueiris5, thanks

    Great tutorial. I had the min. duration set to 10 seconds (thinking that it will fire at least for 10 seconds). No wonder I don't see much triggers. Is there a setting to continue recording via trigger as long as the object is within the camera detection?

    Man I have learned a lot from your Videos. I Have Blue Iris, a very powerful tool. I getting mine set up to were it will detect things like Dogs cats my chickens, people, and objects ect but not record Trees, and bugs webs ect. Before this software I was using Ispy and it misted the theft of a gas can. So with testing this software I'm loving it. Thanks for all the great videos. I would Like to have them Record 24 7 but only Save triggered events and record a few seconds before and after and save that. Because sometimes things can happen, with lag missing out a few seconds and miss out on a lot of action that might be needed.

    Sometimes after my camera is triggered for the allocated 'make-time' it does not re-trigger to capture more of the event even though there is still motion taking place. Is this what "Also Re-Trigger" is for? I can't figure out what this setting does as it does not seem to make a difference either way. I've been using BI for 3 years so I am pretty familiar with it (all the motion, contrast, pixels settings, etc. in order to get a good motion trigger) but other than running my 16 cameras in Continuous mode, which I do not have the processing power to do, I would like to figure out why I am still having the problem that I have mentioned above. Any thoughts on this issue and on "Re-trigger"?

    Hello, thanks for all of the very helpful videos.
    On my preset 1 I have the camera (Foscam FI9928P) facing the driveway, when triggered it goes to preset 2 which is a few feet ahead of the driveway, so it pans as the subject is walking,
    kind of following the subject. How can I set up another trigger zone on the section that preset 2 is covering and have it trigger yet another preset, to continue to follow the subject,
    and how do I get it to go back to preset 1 after all of that movement.
    Thank You.

      Eddietherocker You cant, instead what you are trying to do is called auto tracking. Blue Iris does not support that feature and must be setup in the camera config IF your camera has that feature.

    Hi, is it possible in one cam, setup it to record everything that happend but only to send push notification to the phone when one small area is triggerd on the same camera?

    • @hometechvideo5068
      @hometechvideo5068  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Jimmy Pettersson Duplicate the camera and set separate alerts or just do a zone and only have that zones checked in alerts

    Thank you SO MUCH for your videos! I had followed several of them and had my one camera system set up fairly well, then there was a software update and lost everything except the "cloned camera" So, as soon as I have time, I'll be watching all of the videos again and setting stuff up again. Is there a way to save your configuration in a backup so that software updates don't reset everything?

      Aaron Slusher Hello I'm glad you like the videos! Yes you can backup and restore your setting under options > about > Export settings. To resore just select the file when you hit Import v4.reg

    This was a very good video to explain some of these intricacies in Blue Iris. I have just started getting into my own BI-NVR and I am trying to zero in on how to capture motion and not. Do you plan on doing any video on GeoFence and the Mobile app? I am looking to link this setup into my SmartThings configuration based on presence sensors and possibly my home security arming and disarming somehow.

      Yes those are definitely in the works - Geofencing and using the iOS/Android app

      Do you have any home automation at all? I am specifically interested in integrating my BI camera system with my SmartThings and Alexa. I would love to tinker around and maybe help collaborate with you on configuring and setting up an integrated system like this.

      I do have a few Alexa's and a Wink 2 hub for automation. Also a bunch of Hue lights. As far as integrating them all with Blue Iris it's still kinda limited. You can use voice commands with Alexa to control your profile and PTZ presets but that's all I've pretty much messed around with. I'm sure it's possible to turn on lights based on motion on cameras but I haven't explored these options yet.

    These videos are really awesome! Thank you!
    I too am interested in Geofencing and home automation, so hoping you find the time and energy to tackle those projects.
    BTW, would you mind sharing your favorite camera models. I just bought the Amcrest IP3M-941 for inside my house. I need to buy a few cameras for outdoors now. I also have some family members waiting for me to advise on what to buy. FOV, Line Detection and PIR seem to be key features from what I've learned so far.
    Also wondering if you know if Amcrest or Synology Surveillance Station software offers most of same control for motion detection as BI? I installed a "Dahua IPC-HFW4300S 3MP" a few years ago, but the bugs in front of lens have been big problem...but now since your video explains the basics, maybe that can improve.

      Ken Olson Thanks I’m glad they help. I will be getting into some more advanced features like geofencing and web commands soon. Just need to find the time hah.
      As for cameras, I mainly use 4mp Dahua cameras. Best camera I’ve found for the price is the HDW 4433
