As an OG sub and reformed car salesman, these adds for "after sale" warranty are BS and tiresome. They do speak volumes about peoples fear, gulibility and crappy quality control issues (bean counters). They are a ripoff folks don't fall for it. Now you need to buy a warranty for your new cars warranty? TFL Truck needs to find an other way to monetize the channel. It degrades the other wise pretty good reviews. Next scam will be a warranty to cover the extended warranty's warranty.

Same with the bumpers that used to say mustang gt, they made all of them just say mustang to save a hundred bucks per bumper.

Especially as this has been known about for at least two years on Thai and South African built models. Unless these beds are imported into the USA, assembled, it is quite odd that Ford did not factory modify these front corners before starting US production. Sounds to me like a future class action just waiting to happen. As an average american who has a basic work truck trim level on my truck I fully expect to be able to have a truck box mounted behind the cab spanning the box of the truck that is capable of carrying potentially up to 1000 lbs of tools without any issue. The bed sides should always be designed to be strong enough to carry the max payload capacity of the truck without being overloaded in a worst case scenario without issues for the typical 25-30 year service life of a vehicle. Remember also that if you are hauling a pallet that weighs near the full payload capacity it also needs to be secured to said box tie points and remain that way during normal driving and a potential vehicle accident.

I had a Toyota Tacoma Crew Cab 4x4 with the composite bed and a topper with full size ladder rack. The composite bed kept coming loose on the frame due to friction from movement between bed and frame. The bolts stayed tight but the composite mounting points would wear-out! I took the truck into the Toyota Service and they wouldn't even look at it! They said to take it back to the guy that installed the topper and ladder rack. In the end I made my own bed reinforcement by tying the ladder rack directly to the frame. Good to go, offroading!

So, I see the following hilarious reality in the midsize market: Toyota Tacoma with the super narrow bed that can't haul 4x8 flat and only has 1100 lbs of payload in the double cabs (and 1440 lbs in its highest payload configuration). Now the Ranger can't handle roof racks or a cap without reinforcements. The fact they are both outdone in payload, sheer bed size/capacity (in crew cab versions), and now apparently structural integrity of the bed by the Honda Ridgeline is hilarious. Let's see, the Honda has a 60 inch wide bed with 51 inch wide tailgate, a minimum payload of 1500lbs (max just under 1600 lbs), and can take a cap or racks right from the factory. Way to go Ford and Toyota for building "trucks" that can't out-truck the thing everyone says is not a truck!

This was being discussed on the 6G forum before the trucks came out because the braces were required in other markets where the Ranger is sold. I ordered mine right after I got my truck in April before they sold out. It took me 2 hours to install them on my own. You need to drill out some rivets, cut a small piece of steel out of the way, and then have a 1/4 rivet tool to reinstall the rivets at the end. It's DIY if you are a car person and should be sourced out if you are not.

Flashback! The '79 Scout II required reinforcement of the passenger rear fender end when using the typical aftermarket tire/Jerry Can swing rack. The rack maker did not take any blame for selling it without a reinforcement plate (said the 35" tire was not OEM design)...and IH had put the spare inside (so, not their fault). It was an easy fix with a steel plate bend to a 90' and drilled, but cracks around the taillight were inevitable without the fix. At least Ford recognizes the problem.

The program is called 23P22 and is for 2024 Rangers build between January 4th-September 30th (it currently incorrectly says jan 4th-july 15th) at the Michigan plant, to have the kit installed for free/$169 Refund to the customer.
The program is only open through Septemper 30th, 2025.

The Frontier has the strongest beds/frames and always have. Look up why the 90's trucks are called "hardbody". Andre said he hasn't heard of GM having issues, but their frames are notorious for folding with trailers as light as 1500 lb. I believe adding a camper/topper to a GM truck voids the frame warranty.

I am surprised that US built Ranger beds have not been factory modified for this issue. It has been known about and the brackets available in most of the rest of the world for about two years. Why they do not make those front corners stronger at the production stage, especially after this time scale and very especially for a new production plant in the USA, beats me. It’s ridiculous. FYI I have an 18 month old South African built Ranger twin-turbo-diesel ‘Wildtrak’ and knew about this recommended modification before I bought it. There are videos on TH-cam showing the installation and it is not quite straightforward.
