Congratulations on the house! I just wanted to give you a head up - a lot of blinds can be cut down to fit, so it's worth checking if that is the case before ordering made to measure ones. Have fun making it your home :)
Congrats on the house! That pink striped t-shirt is a blast from the past! Just wanted to ask if you guys had checked out blinds2go for custom sized blinds? Not sure what JL prices are but I would imagine much more expensive. Can thoroughly recommend as we ordered all our blinds from there!

The greenhouse is amazing ! Ive seen people use it as an out door dining space. Try and keep it if you can. You could easily grown herbs and greens and other veggies with little work. A greenhouse like that isn't cheap!
It would be so cute to grow the little veggies and stuff with Delilah maybe as well?
I thought the same! It's so cute already, with some painting and love it would look so pretty! :) and there are so many options, could even be nice for a reading nook or to work on the laptop whenever you're tired of being inside :)

Sarah and duck!! Love that program.. One thing I did when we baught our house was hire a carpet cleaner and clean the carpets, i didn't think they were dirty I just wanted it to be fresh, it really made it feel new to me and like it was ours, hard to explain, soooo much more easy doing when you first get the keys than down the line when there's furniture in the way xx

I feel like this is such a good house for you all! It has so many aspects that you've longed for: a garden, stairs, an office and space for a pantry! I hope you enjoy making it your own and can't wait to see what you'll do with it! It's so exciting!
Please can you do a video all about house buying? I’m saving a deposit for a house with my boyfriend and we’re hoping to start looking end of next year and I had no idea about all the other costs, it would be really helpful to know more from other first time buyers!x
anwen-angharad Dixon Make sure you both get a help to buy ISA :) you can claim them back for the same house and would get more back that way x
We’re doing that now which is a big help! We’re also hoping to get a brand new house so there’s no/not much renovation fees but just want to know more on estate agent fees, surveying fees, that sort of thing that you don’t even think about!x
Just before you get rid of your outside toilet... we redid ours as it was super handy when we were out in the garden during the summer not having to keep running upstairs when anyone needed to go. Also where your drain cover is in the garden you could always do decking. Generally you're not allowed to build over them if you can't access them after, but with decking you can always leave a hatch :)

Such a sweet little house! Love it. Is there wooden floor underneath the carpet? Semms like it, because all the closets have wooden floors. Rip the carpet out - wooden floors are so pretty (and they don't stain as easy)

7:53 made me giggle, you can't contain it! Such an exciting time. I've been watching you for a few years now and really you deserve every happiness in the world.
So in terms of the garden and D being still very young, one thing i'd maybe suggest is a arty short kind of fence down the sides of the steps and also between the grass and the concrete so that D can tumble about on the grass without any risk of a bigger injury but also give more spaces of a play space and larger 'adult' space with maybe a barbecue a new kind of raised flower beds, chairs etc. alongside the couple you may have further at the top of the garden so like generic chairs at the top so you can sit and watch D or just enjoy the warmer morning in the summer whilst having the table and chairs and main garden furniture at the concrete at the bottom? Idk i'm no gardener but uno

With the blinds you were saying how expensive they are to have made, then why not look in other shops for the sizes you need. John Lewis aren't the only blind shops.

Hopefully you’ll see this even though I’m super late commenting... you should definitely get a log burner. They are great at heating houses up, open fire places tend to draw heat in and you can often end up feeling a cold breeze if you are near it 😞 log burners also use a lot less wood as they burn slower! Hope this will help 😊

I can relate to you in the sense that I want everything done yesterday, but I am also a perfectionist- not always a good mix. I think with big projects like this the only thing that keeps me sane is writing lists, things to do now, things to do later and long term things lol. Best of luck to you all and try not to get too overwhelmed, it will all get there in the end, well done for finding the time to put up this vlog for us, loved it xx

I can relate sooo much to being excited over finally having stairs! We moved to our house about two years ago and I'm still amazed that I live in a house with a staircase lol. Your house looks lovely, can't wait to see it when it's done!

Absolutely lovely house! How nice must it be to not work on the kitchen table anymore. Random advice about those flowers you got, they're mini roses and over the winter they go dormant so don't think they're dead if they drop all their flowers and leaves, they'll come back in the spring.
Yes! Can plant them in the garden? :)
@@sarahmaurice3930 Yes! They're quite hardy little plants and it's actually healthy for them to be outside in the cold and go through their dormant phase. In the spring/summer they'll be better able to get the direct sunlight they need outdoors as well.

I would really recommend the Instax Wide 300 camera. The photos are much larger and clearer!! Definitely worth the upgrade.

Like yourself I am a bit of a 'foodie' and when you showed us the space that can be used for a pantry I was like yesss!!! I don't have space for one but would have such fun planning stuff for that one. So many possibilities! You, Doug and Delilah are going to have such fun in your new space. I am already picturing it at Christmas. What a perfect chimney for santa to visit you through. Enjoy yourselves gettinģ all settled. For the rusty bits try using a toothbrush! It can get in those awkward gaps pretty well.

Side notes: LOVE Sarah and Duck. 😄😄 For the outside middle bit of concrete area at the farther end of the garden, maybe a pergula of some sort decorated with some fairy lights where you could put a long dinning table for when you have guests over and/or for meals outside when the weather is nice? Lastly, i would recommend the @Mr. Kate channel for any inspo if you are researcing the possibilities of what to do in the home. They are American youtubers that do all sorts of home redesigns that cater to the "soul" of the homeowners. Lots of minimalistic redesigns, rooms on a budget, etc. Love you!
