Thank you so much for this video. Harm ocd is awful. You have to know you are a good person and it’s nasty ocd.

Hi Kirsty, you’re welcome - this definitely is good to know in the beginning - I had to be mindful not to let that become a compulsive mantra I told myself while going through recovery ❤

Sometimes I just wish I never had those thoughts in the first place. I know thinking like that isn’t helpful in recovery but I never used to think things like this. It’s kept me from truly living my life, but your video was so inspiring and helpful. I really hope I recover

Hi Jade: OCD can feel so lonely - so isolating - but when brave people like yourself share your story, it brings a sparkle of hope - which is critical for us to move forward. Thank you.

Great video jade! Other than bringing the fear down(which is most legit and beneficial approach), one thing that is helping me alot while doing exposure is I sit with all uncomfortable feelings and try to learn that I have conscious choice just like any other human being put simply OCD cant make me do anything that I fear even in the triggering situation.

I think its the hardest theme in ocd because you can't do compulsions to ease it.

But actually compulsion is when you avoid harm thinking, and when you hide your kitchen utensils to make sure nothing goes wrong.

Thank you, Jade. I suffer from harm OCD and have for over 20 years. I have a number of tools to deal with it but I don't think I've fully committed to ERP and that's why I am, like you said, 70% free from OCD. Have you had setbacks and did you practice ERP to get back on track again?

Hey Stephanie, I don’t I’m afraid I’m just a guest contributor for the channel, everything I learnt and talk about is thanks to the team at OCD Recovery and I worked with Rob in order to get a lot better - highly recommended
