Thank you Nick! You're right about beliefs and having to work on them. People think that medications will just take away OCD, when that is not true. Medication helped me get out of a depression in order to be a parent, a wife, and go to my job full time. Do I want to be on them? No. Is it my goal to get off of them? Yes. Will I need to be on them forever? Perhaps. Living with uncertainty day by day.

100% agree with my experience with ocd/anxiety. It respectively began with trivial obsssive negative thoughts over many years until it worsened and spiraled. It wasn't unexplainably out of the blue. Its rational to agree if the orgin of it was a chemical imbalance, medication would solely reverse it and its never really the case from what ive witnessed.
So This may be off topic, but can this also pertain to schizophrenia, hence it can stem from environmental causes like trauma , neglect or something tragic. Bc its basically a cluster of many things that lead to that condition like fully blown anxiety, severe Ocd which also causes debilitating depression focused on fearful irrational thoughts & feelings.
I uncertainly feel if the culprit is an inborn chemical imbalance that later gets triggred its when they experience visual and auditory hallucinations and they arent fully conscious of their abstract behaviors/condition. But theres many who dont experience hallucinations and are fully aware of their condition even irrational delusions wether they believe them fully or not. They only exhibit negative symptoms like major depression and delusions stemmed from acute existential OCD; fear, solipsism derealization etc

But what if I'm too worried about passing exams to the point im using "musts, shoulds, etc" in a bad way. Like "i must study a lot or else i wont pass the exams and I'll never be happy and my life is ruined!"
    What to do here??

Can you guys make topics on how believe that you have ocd disorder? And that you will live with it. A lot of the time i find myself denying it maybe scared of it or something
