    If you turn off Demo cut and Simple Select in the options menu of Art of Fighting 3, you will find that nothing has been cut. However, unless you are playing Art of Fighting 3 NGCD on a Polymega, your load times will be much worse.

    I have a soft spot for these CD consoles from the 90s. They gave some 16 bit games proper music at the cost of load times, which can now be thankfully bypassed with emulators. I just wish SNES had a CD Add on so that its games could've enjoyed some CD quality music.

    This side by side comparison has me thinking that the neogeo CD was pretty darn good, except for load times of course. If we look at the first SFII on the SNES, compared to the Arcade version, its like night and day.

    Early CD based systems suffered from issues like long loading times and less RAM, and this makes it indeed to the inferior system compared to the NG. Ninja Masters is another game where you see many differences, mainly in background animations.

      Doesn't the CD have a lot more RAM though ?
      The main problem is the difference between loading from cd Vs cart.
      The CD was the better machine on paper but not always in practice.

      You meant MORE RAM. Neo Geo CD had a lot of RAM compared any other consoles at the time, including the AES.

    For the Neo Geo CD to be equal to the Neo Geo/MVS it would have to have more RAM and a much faster CD-ROM drive, but the cost of this would be practically unfeasible at the time of its launch.

    Em alguns jogos com certeza houve cortes , sprites menores, falta de elementos nos cenários, até animações foram excluídas.Talvez pela limitação de 56 megabits de ram do Neogeo CD . No Neogeo AES/MVS , a ram ficava no cartucho , não se limitando a esse número.

      Vc não poderia estar mais equivocado. O processamento e memória dos dois consoles é idêntico! O Neo Geo CD ainda tem memória cache adicional por conta do CD. O processador de áudio é idêntico, mas o CD leva vantagem por ter faixas de áudio com som perfeito, que não caberia num cartucho. A única diferença é o tempo de loading pois o leitor de 1x não ajudava. Não há vantagem técnica do neo geo AES sobre o CD. Se houvesse um vencedor, pela música, seria o NEO-GEO CD, mas o irritante tempo de loading, frustra qualquer vantagem.

      @@jrtchannel Já tive os dois , reveja o vídeo que logo de cara percebe-se uma redução drástica do tamanho dos sprites em Art of fight 3 , até um cego vê isso, já vi vídeos que perdem elementos do cenário, em Art of fighter 3 na faze do posto de gasolina lutando contra o gordinho da mochila dá para ver claramente isso onde o barril em primeiro plano foi excluido, não é uma questão de estar equivocado meu caro , isso é fato.

      @@andrecosta9253Na verdade, o fato está nas especificações técnicas dos consoles. Não há vantagem alguma no AES. E acreditar que em um cartucho vc tem mais capacidade de armazemnamento chega a ser infantil. Não há memória RAM adicional nos cartuchos. Se houver, peço que prove, por favor.
      Obs. Tenho os dois consoles e prefiro o AES por questões óbvias de carregamento…

      @@andrecosta9253se houve redução de sprites ou coisas do tipo pode ser para agilizar o carregamento que já é doloroso; mas nada tem a ver com superioridade técnica do console.

    Yes it was. the only benefit the NEO CD offered were the epic sound tracks and Samurai Spirits RPG which was unreleased on the Neogeo AES/MVS.
    the system was so inferior they gave up releasing KOF on it after 99. Mark of the Wolves also was not released.
