    Excellent video in general, good presentation skills and production values. The first half is more detailed than the second half. Many great useful tips and techniques....some points are covered briefly. In the second half she talks about the three turn a lot but didn't cover that in the first half and never explained it, an important omission. Watch Coach Julia's video on one foot spin for detail on that point.

    Fantastic video. Kudos, and congrats, and thanks. I love the "small steps" progressions. This video has a lot to offer over some others, however there are some important omissions, so don't let this be your only instructional video. One important point that is mentioned but not stressed is that the spin is done on an inside edge. Remembering that an outside three turn goes from an outside edge to an inside edge helps reinforce the change there on the left foot that needs to change to an inside edge for the spin. Another important point not mentioned is the foot position for the two foot spin and I've not seen any video describe the foot position used here. The right foot is held pigeon toed, as 3rd party Coach Julia has instructed us, but Coach Stacey pushes the right foot forward of the left, pointing the left toe at the right arch or at least the right ball. I can't wait to try that! I have a decent two-foot spin but can't get past 9 revolutions. I've tried Coach Julia's "pigeon toed dual rocker" position, and I've tried "pigeon toed left rocker right heel" position, but the secret sweet spot eludes me.

    Great tutorial as always. :) I just need to know if the skating blade is totally at 90° or a slight outside edge when spinning.

    • @fu5ha_edits
      @fu5ha_edits 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Skating blade is on a shallow *backward inside* edge when spinning! As you can see particularly from the final exercise is a 3-turn entry -- literally! Forward outside to backward inside edge. But even on the earlier exercises, the skating edge should still be on a back inside edge, it's just harder to see exactly when the "turn" happens.

    Hello, i love your content! I❤ I have a question. For this progression, on step two, doing a two foot spin, do you have the both foot on the rocker or the base one on the rocker or the other on most on the back of the blade? I cant see it. Thanks a lot.

    I struggle with spinning I always drag my inside edge or I can’t keep the spin and just slow down. Do you have any tips for that?
    I was able to fix it and it was mainly because of my upper body which ppl don’t talk much about (another skater at the rink helped me ! So ask bc ppl usually will help) make sure to have the same arm movements as her in the video, straight and towards your chest. Keep your left arm in front and bring your back arm in. Don’t let your arms fall c:

      @HotelEdenMusic 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I had the same issue, and to solve it I recommend practicing absolutely every movement Stacey is doing in her spin process, but do it off ice and stationary without skates on. Through the entire flow, concentrate on maintaining your balance on the ball of your standing foot, where your rocker would be. This and practice your backwards swizzles on ice, concentrating on where on your blades your weight is, front to back. IMHO these two exercises will give you much better awareness, strength, and resulting control of your rocker on all axes, helping you stay in/on the sweet spot when you spin!

    • @HotelEdenMusic
      @HotelEdenMusic 5 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      @sleepysawada532 absolutely! Another thing, when I was on ice today I realized it is helpful to put more weight on that outside pumping foot at the start of your spin, before and during the three turn, which makes that standing foot seem little more agile and less prone to weird grinding/angles. Then you smoothly shift your weight to the standing foot at the point where it is cleanly entering the nice backwards rotation. The Next Edge folks may support or deny this tactic, though, I'm definitely still learning the basics.
