Agree but I just wish Marvel would quit teasing us here. I mean seriously when is the collector going to start playing a more pivotal role. Guardians was looking that way but still not enough for my liking. Great movie though but hope maybe by Avengers 2. We will get more then just a cameo.
XTC2525 Not quite. At that point he could've just been another mad man with a plan to take over the Earth. The presence and mention of infinity stones however showed just how far they were going to go with him.
XTC2525 See I missed the Gauntlet in the first Thor and have yet to actually comb through it to find what scene its in because it was so miniscule. As it stands it seems Marvel has used the Thor movies to put a crack in the damn of all the crazy stuff to see how people would take to it. With Guardians just finally breaking the whole damn thing wide open once and for all. Incidentally that damn gets broken on my bday so yeah my bday is going to be filled with nerd awesomeness this year. Can't wait.
your right he really isn't evil, just wants to collect things, people, other beings. He does not hurt them, if anything he preserves them. But who wants to contained for all eternity on his ship?
Solar Gaze I'd compare it to someone with too many pets. The difference is that these are people. Sapient beings, not dependent on others the way domesticated animals are. Is it inhumane? Without a doubt. Is it evil? Depends on how we see it.
Taneleer Tivan, also known as The Collector, is one of the most underrated characters in the Marvel Comics and the MCU!!! Benico Del Toro did a great job portrayed the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!!!😎
The Collector is a great choice to add to the Mavel Cinematic Universe, and fitting considering his connection to Thanos. If they dont want to go the Elder route with him I think a good alternative would be to say that he at first, really did want to collect people and creatures around the universe to save them from Thanos. But as it goes on he becomes so fascinated with his findings that he literally becomes addicted to it, and as a result ends up striking a deal with Thanos, that if he would save enough beings to satisfy his hunger for collecting then he would aid him in destroying the Avengers, and maybe even say that he is aquaninted with Death and will put in a good word for Thanos with her too.
Benecio Del Toro, I think acted perfectly for a re-imagined Collector. I actually had to ask myself 'is The Collector a supervillian?' Benecio just put a mild tab of menace into the performance for me to sit and think 'what could be next'
"I introduce to you, the collector..." "Oooh... you have a really cute little raccoon. I must have him" So the collector is basically an intergalactic hoarder
I think you guys should do more female origin stories. Starfire, Raven, Batwoman, Power Girl, Zatanna, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, Rogue. I would love to see those. :)
19Runner88 Yeah, but still. Maybe sometime later this year since there is going to be that new Flash show on the CW. It can't be the Flash without the Rogues and Captain Cold is the leader of the Rogues.
Zane Martin While Reverse Flash has had much impact on the Flash, he killed Iris by the 80's which led to the Flash becoming a murderer and a new Zoom did mess with Wally and the original Reverse Flash did help bring New 52, I always found him to be overrated. I always believed Captain Cold to the Flash's biggest villain. He had just as much of an impact on the Flash stories as Professor Zoom. He was the Barry's first major enemy, kinda had a friendship with Wally, killed Impulse, and led the majority of the Flash's foes. On top of that he has a very interesting reasoning for being a criminal and has proven that he isn't always bad. There is just something that I at least found more interesting about Cold than Thawn or whatever Reverse Flash.
So basically his actions are just those of a compulsive hoarder, but I suppose that's still far from the weirdest supervillain they have ever come up with
he doesn't have any superpower. As an Elder of the Universe, the Collector possesses an immortal body, immune to the cellular deterioration of aging and impervious to conventional harm like all other elders
Can you do more from stuff like image? I have always wanted to learn about invincible and svage dragon, but going on wikipedia and reading comic books to actually find this info, i also like listening to your narrator.
It is a fact that movie is going to be done, and much that Thanos appears in The Avengers, who knows what have planned for the movies, maybe they combine the history of Infinity Gauntlet and Infinity to make that movie, and they continue with Inhumanity movie when the Terrigen Mists are released throughout the world.
I don't like the tendency to divide every character in heroes and villains - black&white, collector is just a character with his own mission and a dark side.
so is he a good or bad guy?? since he collects to save the rare species but then he kidnaps them which makes him a bad guy also what powers does he have??
Hey Watchmojo Don't forget he also appeared in the animated series Avengers Assemble, the knock off of the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. just so you know.
Benicio Del Toro is perfect for this role.
I agree! In my opinion he was the best part of Thor 2 he was so flamboyant, so theatrical it was amazing!
yup he really is... i like how The Collector looks like David Bowie.
I wish we could've seen him as Khan, that would've be awesome!!!!
Agree but I just wish Marvel would quit teasing us here. I mean seriously when is the collector going to start playing a more pivotal role.
Guardians was looking that way but still not enough for my liking. Great movie though but hope maybe by Avengers 2. We will get more then just a cameo.
Too bad all he does is giving exposition about the Infinity Gems.
He's not really a villian... just a guy with a hobby...
Gachman it shows there a little bit of the collector in all of us for me it comics and old toys
comic book reviewer That doesn't make us a villain now does it :P
+Gachman umm capturing life forms of their unfree will is kidnapping....
+killasheen15 wich is a crime wich makes him a vilain.
+Harder Stylers (HarderStyler) he made one crime so he's a major villain. Seems legit
Thats a pretty fit collector. Most the collectors i know have big bellys and cheeto stains on their shirts
Radspakr Wolfbane i think your thinking of hardcore gamers, they have doritos and mountain dew
the fabulous spycrab sphee I'm a hardcore gamer and I prefer g-fuel and papa johns
Fire Ronin that works. pizza, certain chips, hot pockets, anything you can order or microwave pretty much works. drinks are hard to tell
the fabulous spycrab sphee Only I don't have a big belly and I keep my clothes clean
Actually an interesting guy. Love how he can tiptoe between being a villain and a benevolent character. Thanks for the video.
"1 down 5 to go." The line that showed me Marvel was pulling its punches no longer.
Hello, Infinity Stones.
Thanos popping up in the Avengers didn't do that?
XTC2525 Not quite. At that point he could've just been another mad man with a plan to take over the Earth. The presence and mention of infinity stones however showed just how far they were going to go with him.
KazeAizen that's fine. to me marvel teasing the infinity gauntlet in Thor then Thanos himself popping up did it for me
XTC2525 See I missed the Gauntlet in the first Thor and have yet to actually comb through it to find what scene its in because it was so miniscule. As it stands it seems Marvel has used the Thor movies to put a crack in the damn of all the crazy stuff to see how people would take to it. Incidentally that damn gets broken on my bday so yeah my bday is going to be filled with nerd awesomeness this year. Can't wait.
How about we stop Thanos? Nah, fuck that. Let's collect all life forms in the universe, seems easier!
Seems legit.
Well... It does seems easier.
Yhe whole point at first was to collect beings to stop thanos... and then have a joygasm
In all fairness, it seems more easy to collect, steal, and kidnapp then fight a all powerful being.
Well it's alot better than fighting the most powerful guy in the verse
Is he really a villain though just seems like a guy with a really obsessive hobby
your right he really isn't evil, just wants to collect things, people, other beings. He does not hurt them, if anything he preserves them. But who wants to contained for all eternity on his ship?
walexia yeah I guess it's a matter of morals. When it comes to living beings yeah but everything else doesn't seem so evil
Isn't stealing a crime anymore?
in comic is this crime nothing
Solar Gaze I'd compare it to someone with too many pets. The difference is that these are people. Sapient beings, not dependent on others the way domesticated animals are. Is it inhumane? Without a doubt. Is it evil? Depends on how we see it.
Im really glad you guys post these origins. It really helps
Taneleer Tivan, also known as The Collector, is one of the most underrated characters in the Marvel Comics and the MCU!!! Benico Del Toro did a great job portrayed the character in the Marvel Cinematic Universe!!!😎
hes not a bad villain ,hes not a good villain HES JUST A VILLAIN !!!!
wwe roman reigns
Supervillain Origins: Ronan
Can you do Red Hulk?
yeah ive been wondering his origins for a while now
Here ya go.
www.comicvine.com/thunderbolt-ross/4005-3457/
Supervillain origins: Hunter Kraven

Superhero Origins: The Question
You say no-one comes close to this guy when it comes to collecting. Have you ever heard of Larfleeze.
Mine!
never
Yeah, but Larfleeze is DC and The Collector is Marvel.
Thanos beat this guy's aas
@@okaeri80 sorry what does that have to do with the comment you replied to lol
Thanos looks like he is taking a standing dump.
I'm excited to see more of Benicio Del Toro as The Collector in a Guardians of the Galaxy this summer.
"I introduce to you, the collector..."
"Oooh... you have a really cute little raccoon. I must have him"
So the collector is basically an intergalactic hoarder
I freaking love the Marvel universe even more now. I hope to see more crossovers and more of The Collector!
"I pick things up. I am a collector.
And things, well things, they tend to accumulate..."
There is a little collector in all of us
And a hulk (rage that makes us stupid e.g hulk smash!) and a green lantern (good will) and a sinestro (fear) and a...
Wow! Thanks a lot for the clearing that bit up for me! I had no idea who that guy was at the end of the movie!
Divelt Adamson
Yeah. Didn't know about him until now.
He was played by comic book guy in the simpsons were he captured lucy lawess
"Wait. Xena can't fly!"
"I told you. I'm not Xena. I'm Lucy Lawless."
"Oh."
nice reference
Xena needs Xex
You should do origin videos for the dark avengers, desperately of course
I think you guys should do more female origin stories. Starfire, Raven, Batwoman, Power Girl, Zatanna, Ms. Marvel, Spider-Woman, Rogue. I would love to see those. :)
I would love to see a Huntress origin video, as well as a Black Canary origin. Also, the Birds of Prey!
Nah we’re okay.
Do one for every character in the Guardians of the Galaxy movie (I'm sure we'll need it)
I didn't even know who the Guardians were when I heard they were getting their own movie. I need to know more Marvel XD
Supervillian origins: Eobard Thawne/ The reverse flash
The collector is not a villain everything he collects is supposed to make it through the next time the universe ends so he can fix everything
I'd never heard of the Collector before Thor 2, but I just might become a fan.
Me, about every single Marvel movie XD
can't wait to see him again in guardians of the galaxy
Comic Book Guy will always be the one true Collector.
Origins of The Question?
In the MCU he looks like a dead guy walking who can't see straight
Its a sad day when the Collector gets an origin video before Captain Cold.
well him being featured in one of the biggest movies of last year helps
19Runner88 Yeah, but still. Maybe sometime later this year since there is going to be that new Flash show on the CW. It can't be the Flash without the Rogues and Captain Cold is the leader of the Rogues.
If anyone's the biggest Flash villain, its zoom.
Zane Martin While Reverse Flash has had much impact on the Flash, he killed Iris by the 80's which led to the Flash becoming a murderer and a new Zoom did mess with Wally and the original Reverse Flash did help bring New 52, I always found him to be overrated.

Captain Cold? You mean that generic Mr. Freeze ripoff that was shoved into the Flash's rogue gallery?
What can i say!? I think i understand him... For some people, stamps just aren't enough :)
I think I may have heard of "The Collector" before, but I never really read any stories with him in it. Nice origin video!
He was in the end of Thor: The Dark World and Guardians of the Galaxy.
*****
Yeah: thanks for that reminder! They guy they gave one of the stones to.
I just watched the Movies and had no idea who this guy was. Turns out he is quite Badass.
I think it's about time you did an origin of Korvac.
They should do silver samurai origin
why is the collector good in ultimate spider-man?
i see the collector more along the lines of an antihero
Del Toro nailed it.
Holy crap. The art at 0:42 is a dead ringer for Benicio del Toro. Same for 1:16
He isn't a super villain if he's trying to protect the galaxy.
Curious how The Collector is tied to the Infinity Gauntlet. Is he collecting the Gems to help Thanos, or to keep them safe from the universe?
So basically his actions are just those of a compulsive hoarder, but I suppose that's still far from the weirdest supervillain they have ever come up with
He is awesome and so are you Watch Mojo. But could you do another anime top? One that doesn't have DBZ/Naruto/Bleach.
What is the backround theme someone please tell me
The The Collector works for thanos in the new movies right?
Collecting the Infinity gems
Can you do Korvac?
Thanks for the video!
Yeahs I've been wanting this one for ages!!! :)
We are all Supervillains!
i think this is one of the better storylines in comic books
Yes! Well done. I have those issues. Also have Thanos quest, where he gets outsmarted again
Another fine addition to my collection.
i think you missed something, what are his abilities ? or superpowers ?
he doesn't have any superpower. As an Elder of the Universe, the Collector possesses an immortal body, immune to the cellular deterioration of aging and impervious to conventional harm like all other elders
seer1980
thank u
The Collector is a really cool character. Can't wait to see him in Guardians!
Can you do more from stuff like image? I have always wanted to learn about invincible and svage dragon, but going on wikipedia and reading comic books to actually find this info, i also like listening to your narrator.
I still can't believe the collector got a better origin video that the entire guardians. I want a redo :/
The Collector.
Greatest enemy of Stretch-dude and Clubber girl.
Could you do Trigon, Raven and Black Cat please?
this guy is so good presenting origins story...
I think they do these every Monday now
He was a villain? I mean yeah he did slavery and prisoned different spieces, but i never saw him as a villain
do origins of black canary
Can Ya'll do Baron Von Strucker and Madame Viper please?
He’s basically a cosmic HOARDER and it’s kept him busy for BILLIONS of years he is also the father(comics) to one insanely beautiful woman CARINA
im pretty sure you forgot the part where the Collector is immortal but stops existing if he doesn't keep collecting
Avengers 3 infinity gauntlet!
Mike Galil I really hope we get to see Thanos actually doing sh*t before Avengers 3, all he seems to do is just sit there
Can u guys another Top 10 game overs?
is it just me or does the The Collector in the MCU looks like David Bowie
For super villain origins can you please do Ronin the Accusser
finally a villain that has my issues about hording.
The collector is not a villain.
The Collector is not a villain. He is neutral in my opinion.
Superhero Origin: The Question and Cable
I guess someone took "gotta catch them all" way too seriously. WAY TOO SERIOUSLY.
I have a strange feeling that The Collector and Trazyn the Infinite would be very good friends...
damn I forgot trazyn was a collector too. I wonder what weapons from the marvel universe would trazyn collect?
damn I forgot trazyn was a collector too. I wonder what weapons from the marvel universe would trazyn collect?
I thought you did an origin story of The Collector (Comic Book Guy) from the Simpsons
whats the name of the music used in this video.
Super villian origins Nebula would be cool!
i am very eager to see del torro's the collector and how will he pan out all the way to thanos. i hope he wont be cheesy
I remembered X-23 killed Collector when she's saving Franklin and Valerie (Mr.Fantastic & Sue's children)
I don't like the tendency to divide every character in heroes and villains - black&white, collector is just a character with his own mission and a dark side.
so is he a good or bad guy?? since he collects to save the rare species but then he kidnaps them which makes him a bad guy
also what powers does he have??
Hey Watchmojo Don't forget he also appeared in the animated series Avengers Assemble, the knock off of the Avengers Earth's Mightiest Heroes. just so you know.
Is the guardians of the galaxy movie already on usa
one thing i don't understand is how exactly was korvac able to kill the collector? I thought he was immortal
immortal does not mean invulnerable it just mean he doesn't die of old age.
i dont see how he is evil, he is preserving species and things so that they wont die to whatever he knows will happen in the future
Doesn't the DC universe had a collector earlier (don't get me wrong, im more marvel sided, but ultimately anime fan)
What part was this guy in Thor? I don't even remember that scene
after credits
Jonatas Nogueira oh :P downloaded copy... At least now I know
Masterpsflood And knowing is half the battle...
its on the post credits scene..
He's talking about the infinity gems or stones as they call them in the movies
the Comic Kleptomaniac
John Stewart green lantern
I confused the Collector for the other Galactic being the Stranger. Both are a substitute for the Watcher.
So... is he just a horder then ?
what exactly does he mean by one down five to go?? anyone?? I need an answer!
the power stones. look it up plenty of videos telling you all about what they are and do.
what color are they?
i thought there were seven of them.
well the power glove holds 6. again look it up can't believe they would mess it up.
technically they're are called infinity gauntlet and infinity stones.
