Taskmaster is one of my favorite comic characters, not just for his powers but for the conditions and consequences behind them. He's not just a two-bit villain out for himself, there's a lot more to him. I still remember the conversation he had with his "daughter" "I got this...memory thing. I pick up anyone's moves just by seein' 'em. That's a lotta data. More'n my brain's got room for, I guess. So I...forget things. Things that ain't about combat, about survival. People, places... I can't remember what I did last week. By Monday, I probably won't remember this conversation. I wanted ta fight you 'cause... I thought if I remembered your moves, I might remember you."
That event in that comic series spoke volumes to me. He isnt some "I love you" dad he is more of "let me remember you" dad. That lead me to be curious for there to be the chance of Taskmaster getting his own series where plenty of events show up from his past. I can just think of ways of how he may have pissed of Villains or Heroes. I at least want a comic where it shows him as a Dad to Finesse when both couldnt remember. I've been a fan of Taskmaster even since the 2002 comic series. To me had this roped templar look and his ability isn't some gimmick. He can do the moves but not the ability. I love how he spent the time to make his own web slingers and Hawkeye bow. Though I do wish Taskmaster did more to give him an edge and even blend his attacks. Like he could do some sore of fake out attack. He pretend to move like Spiderman but instead use the rope like Ghost Rider and it has a shock effect with the whip. There is so much I want to see him do.
For anyone that wonders, "How the fuck does someone like Taskmaster get demolished by Deadpool" well it is because Deadpool is very spontaneous, he has no fighting style or patterns. There is literally no predicting his attacks.
Taskmaster is one of my favorite comic book characters. But he isn't a villain. He's an anti-hero, he works with the Secret Avengers now. Also, I hated how he was represented in Marvel's Ultimate Spider-man (Disney XD). He's not afraid of Deadpool. He beated Deadpool several times, but he has stated that he's a real challenge. They are friends now, they used to be enemies but not anymore.
i invented lust bitch no one is too strong for Taskmaster. It’s not about strength it’s about how smart you are. Think about it, Taskmaster has the ability to predict every move someone does, so just do the unpredictable
Fun fact: Deadpool is the only one his powers don't work on because Deadpool's moves are TOO unpredictable. Plus in some versions of taskmaster it's a psychic link that allows him to get their moves, and Deadpool's immune to telepathy so...
+Kate Speaks thats not true, in fact Taskmaster beat hiim once, but deadpool was like ,,healing powers, im such a cool character"" and then he beat Taskmaster
+MeandMonkeyLP Deadpool and Taskmaster have fought several times, and every time to my knowledge Deadpool has won. He once defeated Master with his hands and feet bound. There are several reasons for this, one being the healing factor, another being his very spontaneous and unpredictable fighting style which basically counter's Taskmaster.
+MeandMonkeyLP Deadpool and Taskmaster have fought several times, and every time to my knowledge Deadpool has won. He once defeated Master with his hands and feet bound. +Kate Speaks have you read deadpool kills the marvel universe? they fought in that one too. it was a pretty sweet fight. of course, deadpool won in that one.
I've been seeing a lot of comments saying "he can't beat deadpool because he randum". Oh you people are so wrong. In the Death of Captain America story arc Taskmaster was given the job by the government to train the new Captain to fight like Steve, if he did that he would receive a pardon. Taskmaster did as he was told and was thrown in prison anyways. While he was stuck in prison Deadpool was paid to break Taskmaster out and kill him, the two had fought. Taskmaster had Deadpool beat, but due to Deadpool's healing factor he was able to get back up and beat Taskmaster. Deadpool "failed" his mission when he didn't kill Tasky. While Deadpool beat him, it was ONLY due to his healing factor. Taskmaster is the better fighter of the two, he has no super powers to back up his skill.
+Drew Molina I think people are referring to the fact Taskmaster can't copy Deadpool, he had to rely on already known skills in order to fight Deadpool. Granted yes Deadpool is one of the few who have beaten him I will admit it wasn't solely because he has no predictability to his movements.
MeadX26 But why even use the fact he can't copy Deadpool as the reason he can't win? We both know Tasky well enough that he doesn't have to rely on his ability to copy somebody to beat them. What they should be saying is he can't beat Deadpool because of his healing factor, not because he's unpredictable.
Drew Molina I think its due to the wording in their fight. Task seemed unsettled because he couldn't predict his moves so in turn people think that's why he ultimately lost, sure it played a factor but DPs healing factor is virtually unbeatable. However if we look at when Task and DP fought in Deadpool kills the marvel universe the reason Task was killed is because of the fear that took over his mind due partially to him not being able to read DPs movements and eventually hearing the Red voice. It broke Task's psyche and Man Thing fed off that and killed him.
MeadX26 Oh, I admit that Tasky lost that fight in the end, he couldn't keep DP down in the end. As far as DP kills the Marvel universe, they added the whole physic link to Tasky for that comic. He actually was able to read DP's movements, he was mirroring him move for move as the link began to kick in allowing him to hear what Red was saying. Once the link was established he knew exactly what DP was doing which scared him triggering the Man Thing to show up. But that whole series, much like the Punisher Kills the Marvel Universe, was a "what if" thing. Not meant to be canon to any of the characters.
There's more to Deadpool than his healing factor. I never said Deadpool was weak or anything along those lines, only that Taskmaster CAN beat Deadpool, it would have happened if he didn't have a healing factor. Let me remind you that Tasky is a normal human outside of his photographic reflexes, no super human strength, endurance, speed, NOTHING. Know who else Tasky can't copy? Spiderman. While he can mimic his moves, he can't truly fight like him because Spiderman's fighting style is based on reaction to his spidysense. Same thing applies to Deadpool, he can fight just like him but can't recreate it since their's no real fighting style within it. If you can learn to read, then you are allow to call anybody a 'dumb bastard'.
Kaine Parker Ppl say Deadpool would beat Moon Knight. Moon Knight doesn't really beat him. He has immense difficulty in beating him but Moon Knight is awesome and is really underrated.
Deathpool_04 He does beat him in the comic he literally realizes Deadpool has a healing factor so he just smiles takes Deadpools Katana and cuts him to pieces, he's beaten him but if it was to the death Deadpool would win because he just can't die
Kaine Parker Isnt deadpool more skilled than Moon Knight? And if he did do that, the fight wouldn't really be over. Also it depends on how serious Deadpool is throughout the fight.
I prefer task master's original design than any redesigned version the media creates to make him look less "goofy." You know .The hood, skull face mask, the shield, sword, or what ever. They need stick to that formula.
I personally feel like that's what makes him less noticeable. His look doesn't convey his powers at all. Iron man has a metal suit, The Hulk is muscular, wolverine has animal claws, Task Master has?
+ChiefLuxio okay I understand that.... But what that have to do with Taskmaster's origin. It's like having a video about Batman's origin & people all in the comments goin on about how Bane broke his back all thru the comments. What that have to do with the origin?
LJ Soriano I liked the fact that Taskmaster could increase hes speed in combat by watching fighting videos in fast forward.I wish he would have gotten a buff,to make him more menacing.I think it would have been awesome for him to get a healing factor the same way Deadpool did.I think it would have been a good addition to hes power set.If he would have healing powers he can do things such as exerting hes muscles to the point of breaking and hes healing factor would just repair all the damage done, this way greatly improveing his fighting capabilities.

I would call it lazy writing. I mean he has These crazy Powers and backstory and all they came up with, about why he's evil is that he's greedy? I mean the possibilities are endless in comics, why just money?
He is one of the few Marvel characters that I know that would honestly beat Batman. Batman knows every martial art in the world and so would Taskmaster. He would probably catch anything Bats throws at him, right back at him. Not to mention, he always copies the moves perfectly, so there is no fail to not winning in hand to hand. This guy is always one of the last super hero/villians to survive in roughly all Apocalyptic stories in the Marvel Universe. Age of Ultron, Deadpool kills Marvel Universe... He is also the few who beat Deadpool, who is the most unpredictable character there is and combines moves or makes up moves as he goes, to a standstill. He would honestly beat anyone in normal hand to hand combat. Something tells me though, that I have a painted targeted on the back of my head from DC fans.
true true batman would most likely lose unless he somehow made himself mad like deadpool is. when that is said taskmaster would have no reason to attack batman..i mean even if he was paid batman would probably be able to pay him back times 10 exept for the challenge Taskmaster would not have any reason to go for batman
DC has a character with a similar power set in Cassandra Cain who Batman has admitted would beat him. Though she was beaten by Tim Drake who fought her without a style.
Andrew Robertson About 10 other characters have kicked Batman's ass and few fear to admit it. Batman is not invulnerable, he is not unstoppable, he is not stable and he can fall just like every comic book hero/villain that will ever be made or ever will. Drake is just a badass version of batman with a sword and an attitude that I think even Joker would love.
Heartless25 To be fair though inconsistency goes hand in hand with comics almost as much as soft science which is why arguments over character power levels get really confusing when you bring in past achievements they be unable to do now.
You make it sounds like Moon Knight is a bad ass. He doesn't like to copy Moon Knight because his style fucking sucks. MK doesn't know how to dodge an attack and let's their enemies punch him right in the face. Taskmaster humilliated Moon Knight but he lost because the writer was an idiot and came up with the stupidest way of making Taskmaster lose when he had already won. No intelligent person would even consider that bullshit comic canon.
jd johnson Its a special ability possesed by the Uchiha Clan which allows their eyes to copy movements and in certain situations skills, for more in-depth info google Naruto Sharingan

He single-handedly tackled both Captain Americas during the Siege of Asgard, and was the one Norman chose to fill in the blank spot in the Cabal. And he was aware of the "manipulating".
im looking forward to whenever they decide to use him for a Marvel movie, hes just the kind of foe thats perfect for putting all of the Avengers in their place without having to be OP like Thano's
Thats simply because no one can read a pattern that don't exist deadpool just do ramdom things there for he can read a pattern so he can't use his power aginst deadpool
He should be a villian in a Hawkeye/Black Widow film, with him only studying Cap, IM, Hulk, SW, and QS not counting the pair as Avengers like all the haters do. It would show both Taskmasters Strength as well as Clint's and Natasha's
From the comic book image (2:43), one of those minions had his arms replaced with a double barreled laser gun powered by some kind of cable and an (I'm assuming) electric crossbow. As a child, I couldn't have imagined any greater fate. It's these nameless wackadoo background characters that drew me to comics at a young age.
I think due to hardly ever using codenames (save for the Avengers and a couple baddies), we won't really know if Grant Ward is Taskmaster in the MCU, but it's pretty apparent given his ability to study and predict the SHIELD agents' moves, his recent recruitment and ruthless training of new foot soldier baddies, and his seemingly rotating loyalties (though it seems like he's loyal to HYDRA, I'm not entirely too convinced he's a "true believer"). I think they left it open for the fans to decide, but Ward would make the perfect Taskmaster for the MCU. He's actually one of the characters (other than Daisy/Skye, possibly Bobbi/Mockingbird, and of course bringing Phil Coulson back) who I would love to see be promoted to the films. He could show up in a film as one of the villains (possibly a Spider-Man or Captain America foe).
If they'd gone that way I think ward would have been a great candidate for Taskmaster, the HIVE storyline was cool, but having him emerge as Tony Masters would have been better
Arief Imran Roslan Batman has fought enemies who can predict his moves in the dc universe.batman can read body language and deduce traits of someone by the most subtle things, batman has better feats than taskmaster.batman wins 8 or 7 out of 10.
With Prep: Batman also If batman notices that taskmaster is copying his moves, he will create a strategy to counter that. Bats wins. Without Prep: Taskmaster case closed im done here.
In Age of Ultron there is a scene where Tony Stark is choosing a new A.I Assistant to replace Jarvis now that he is The Vision. They look like hard drives but they are named. The one he chooses is FRIDAY but if you pause the video you also see another one labeled Jocasta. And like the video says she is the one who is able to defeat TaskMaster in hand to hand combat because he cant predict her moves. So he might be introduced as a villain in upcoming films.
jarmoksvk Hope not! Taskmaster is a very Charismatic character who as they said he's got a fondness for slang...Ward is very cold and not one that I'd think would use slang.
No doubt they would rig it to go one way when it would go another way like they did with Dracula vs Ganondorf, Zelda vs Peach, Starscream vs Rainbow Dash, Thor vs Wonder Woman, Captain America vs Batman, and so on

For what i know, money. Supervillans pay way more.
Wow, that's extremly lame for a supervillain...
ChokoboLP
Practical though. He does seem to enjoy challenges (he does mercenary work for example) and he seems to get a high training others.
I would call it lazy writing. I mean he has These crazy Powers and backstory and all they came up with, about why he's evil is that he's greedy? I mean the possibilities are endless in comics, why just money?
I wanna see a Task master movie
His first ability is literally the sharingan, except no change in his eyes
So Taskmaster has the Sharingan years before Naruto was ever produced
We were robbed
Yep the movie sucked too..... extremely disappointed
taskmaster is one of my favorite villains. Definitely in my top 3.
Something tells me though, that I have a painted targeted on the back of my head from DC fans.
taskmaster can totally beat batman
true true batman would most likely lose unless he somehow made himself mad like deadpool is. when that is said taskmaster would have no reason to attack batman..i mean even if he was paid batman would probably be able to pay him back times 10 exept for the challenge Taskmaster would not have any reason to go for batman
Mojo please do more of these!
the guy who could kill batman and dead shot, and work with deathstroke.
make a moonknight one, not even the Taskmaster dares to copy his style
You make it sounds like Moon Knight is a bad ass. He doesn't like to copy Moon Knight because his style fucking sucks. MK doesn't know how to dodge an attack and let's their enemies punch him right in the face. Taskmaster humilliated Moon Knight but he lost because the writer was an idiot and came up with the stupidest way of making Taskmaster lose when he had already won. No intelligent person would even consider that bullshit comic canon.
@@Nordrig he does it so that he can get a hit it sounds stupid but its really smart instead of dodging
Superhero Origins: Stopman
Make it happen Watchmojo XD
oh god all hail the stop man he stopped the ex girlfriend from killing her ex boyfriend
Stopman is love
Stopman is life :)
BigTymerz2009 My GOD, I JUST READ THAT AND I DIDN'T KNOW HE WAS THAT POPULAR?
Hahahahahaha! Stopman is a true hero that every man needs to know about XD
All hail Stopman! All hail Stopman! All hail... STOPMAN!
So basically he has a Sharingan
Luciano Martinez Question: What is a Sharingan and why is every other commenter mentioning it?
jd johnson Its a special ability possesed by the Uchiha Clan which allows their eyes to copy movements and in certain situations skills, for more in-depth info google Naruto Sharingan
Space Elephant Ah, thanks.
Yeah only the original version up to three tomoes. Everything else is fucking hack plot shit.
+Luciano Martinez No he has taskmaster sharingan basically has the taskmaster :o
i was when i realized i had watched these videos continuously over the day that i though i should sub. Keep em coming
taskmaster is a hidden gem in marvel comics wish somewhone would make an ongoing series
The Taskmaster should be the villian the the third Avengers movie. Who agrees?
Would be awesome but thanos is already confirmed for avengers 3
HAVOK1134206
Dang:(
Hm poor shame but trust me Thanos is much more worth of a villain then taskmaster ;) IMO
Agreed, I would love to see Taskmaster in an MCU film
No. Maybe a villain in a Netflix series, next captain america movie, or a Hawkeye/Black Widow movie if it ever gets made.
Taskmaster, the original user of the Sharingan before it went mainstream. :P
Before it got stupid.
+Ichigo1423jfk before it became a plot device.
123456789 987654321 Omg don't fucken remind me. Naruto has literally become a failed DBZ.
+zaberfang Lol so true!
+zaberfang I couldn't agree anymore with not just yours but everyone else's comment.
Taskmaster is the Deathstroke of marvel universe
He existed before deathstroke.
@@LarryBonson ok I didn't know that my friend thx u for telling me about that gb 👍
he is sort of like marvel's deathstroke, but both of these are cool in their ways
And taskmaster precedes deathstrokw by 6 months.
Except Taskmaster came out before Deathstroke
You guys need to do more of these. Supervillian and superhero. Theyre awesome. Much better then the top ten zelda and half life video game lists you pump out daily.
That Captain America clip in the beginning was hilarious!
One of my fav villains butchered. BW movie was ok at best but the taskmaster was what irked me the most.
Who’s here after watching how badly they butchered this character in black widow?
Check out these other cool origin clips we have done:
Supervillain Origins: Hector Hammond
SuperVillain Origins of Venom
SuperVillain Origins: Sabretooth
Supervillain Origins: Harley Quinn
Top 10 movies that people say ruined their childhoods.
Good Job WatchMojo! I've been waiting for this one. was wondering how you guys would go about the revised origin from 2011. But hey! You guys forgot to mention me I suggested it too. :(
Supervillian Origins: Toxin.
wow, I forgot I suggested this LOL
Hybrid Phoenix
Toxin wasn't a supervillain...
He single-handedly tackled both Captain Americas during the Siege of Asgard, and was the one Norman chose to fill in the blank spot in the Cabal. And he was aware of the "manipulating".
I came to read the masters' casual comments
im looking forward to whenever they decide to use him for a Marvel movie, hes just the kind of foe thats perfect for putting all of the Avengers in their place without having to be OP like Thano's
And now Black Widow will be fighting him in a prequel and who knows it may not be the last time we see him
They ruined him
I will never forgive marvel for what they did with him
Nat can’t beat our boy. They had to girl him down so Nat could win. Clueless Disney.
His best phase is "Years for you, seconds for me."
One of the best (and highly underrated) supervillians, ever.
he never stood a chance against deadpool though
yea, I was watching spiderman and when spidy said deadpool was with him, he freaked out
I seen that episode (ultimate deadpool)
hell yeah deadpool is waaay too crazy to read
Thats simply because no one can read a pattern that don't exist deadpool just do ramdom things there for he can read a pattern so he can't use his power aginst deadpool
where can i watch this?
What black widow did was disgusting
Plus, he's also in Marvel's Spider-Man when doing the challenge boxes.
Thanks man! I'm learning a bunch from your videos.
Who else is here because of the black widow movie...
He should be a villian in a Hawkeye/Black Widow film, with him only studying Cap, IM, Hulk, SW, and QS not counting the pair as Avengers like all the haters do. It would show both Taskmasters Strength as well as Clint's and Natasha's
Taskmaster is so cool they better not kill him in blackwidow
Even worse, they butchered his character
@@blackclover20 Haven’t watched it yet but I heard 😓
From the comic book image (2:43), one of those minions had his arms replaced with a double barreled laser gun powered by some kind of cable and an (I'm assuming) electric crossbow. As a child, I couldn't have imagined any greater fate. It's these nameless wackadoo background characters that drew me to comics at a young age.
YOOOOOO, this was uploaded on my birthday (Taskmaster's one of my fav comic chars). So hype :]
Black Widow ruined him in the MCU
They turned our boy into another widow. I knew something wasn't right when he wasn't mocking people.
How the hell can Taskmaster mimick Deadpool with the ability not to die?
Body armour
Lots and lots of body armor
So this guy has the sharingan?
I guess so.
Been waiting for this
I think due to hardly ever using codenames (save for the Avengers and a couple baddies), we won't really know if Grant Ward is Taskmaster in the MCU, but it's pretty apparent given his ability to study and predict the SHIELD agents' moves, his recent recruitment and ruthless training of new foot soldier baddies, and his seemingly rotating loyalties (though it seems like he's loyal to HYDRA, I'm not entirely too convinced he's a "true believer").
If they'd gone that way I think ward would have been a great candidate for Taskmaster, the HIVE storyline was cool, but having him emerge as Tony Masters would have been better
task master vs batmnan would be a good fight
Batman only fights in martial arts so his screwed
Arief Imran Roslan Batman has fought enemies who can predict his moves in the dc universe.batman can read body language and deduce traits of someone by the most subtle things, batman has better feats than taskmaster.batman wins 8 or 7 out of 10.
Arief Imran Roslan It would be a good long fight but batman will eventually have a plan b to take down taskmaster.
***** Random encounter taskmaster wins and if batman has prep he wins 8/10 or 9/10.
With Prep: Batman also If batman notices that taskmaster is copying his moves, he will create a strategy to counter that. Bats wins.
Without Prep: Taskmaster case closed im done here.
Who's here just because of the teaser trailer of upcoming Black Widow film!?
aren't all marvel villains former shield agents? XD
No.
rhyswithers73 I know, it just seems like a lot of them are :)
TheZevProductions like who?
TheZevProductions
Yeah; like who? I can only think of Taskmaster but nobody else.
Volcanoran3 hmmm....yeah I see your point..
Underrated villain
In Age of Ultron there is a scene where Tony Stark is choosing a new A.I Assistant to replace Jarvis now that he is The Vision. They look like hard drives but they are named. The one he chooses is FRIDAY but if you pause the video you also see another one labeled Jocasta. And like the video says she is the one who is able to defeat TaskMaster in hand to hand combat because he cant predict her moves. So he might be introduced as a villain in upcoming films.
Grant Ward from Agents of SHIELD anyone?
I hope so, that would be badass.
Ward + T.A.H.I.T.I. = Taskmaster
jarmoksvk yep! possibly!
jarmoksvk Hope not! Taskmaster is a very Charismatic character who as they said he's got a fondness for slang...Ward is very cold and not one that I'd think would use slang.
Steve Jones Gaming but then along comes T.A.H.I.T.I.... :)
To mad ruined him in black widow movie
I would LOVE to see a deathbattle with Deathstroke versus Taskmaster
No doubt they would rig it to go one way when it would go another way like they did with Dracula vs Ganondorf, Zelda vs Peach, Starscream vs Rainbow Dash, Thor vs Wonder Woman, Captain America vs Batman, and so on
Taskmaster sounds like an alternate name for a trapper-keeper.
I really like his design and color scheme
Andddd they fucked up is origins.
