If Always-on-display is a "big" thing for you, how come you live without it for so many years? Idem for big sensor ? Idem for haptic feedback when using the keyboard? Idem for...
Basically, you do not care missing features that are on Android... until you are so excited to make a big jump to have plus this and plus that on iPhones. Seems weird to always make 180° turns on every new Apple product released.
We always talked about some of these things in our reviews, comparisons, down site videos etc. always on display is really nice to have and I use it on other phones, but because of Apples ecosystem and their other product the upsides of having an iPhone and downsides of not having one matter more than some of these things they’ve lacked like the always on display.
I wish Apple would make the pretty teal green like iphone 11 which I have

Well Apple‘s website has all the tech specs so he is utilizing his past experience with iPhones in general to give a good recommendation. I think people are going to be just critical of anything it’s kind of silly. This is a way to create content and it’s just simply not waiting for a product to drop to do a video.

I totally get your point. But we should also keep in mind that if he doesn’t get clicks it doesn’t push the video up the algorithm. So he’s not just making titles we like. He’s trying to fight the machine too.
He's doing a Ken Rockwell, who also reviews gear based on specs alone, and then revises the review when he receives them and adds new things. 😄
It would be practical to have a normal screen on one side and electronic ink on the other side that can show notifications and the clock on a mobile phone. Including changing the color. This function can also be used with on-ear headphones where the electronic ink shows the battery status and can change color and texture. I think it's a great idea.
I do not understand why people buy a new expensive phone and do not put in a protective case, the finger print issue, scratches, back glass smashing all goes away generally and even the colour won’t matter unless you use a see-through case.
I bought screen protector front and back for my XR. I’ve only cracked the screen protector on the front and haven’t broken the screen. I’ve dropped my phone several times. I have a semi thick otter box case.

The phone case is exactly what I need. I keep but spigen kickstand cases that look like that but clear. Has crazy yellowing issues though. I’m assuming that with that finish, it won’t yellow 🥂
I wonder if the photo comparisons were done after iPhone’s magic wand editing in iPhoto would compare well from model to model. Does additional software manipulation by its AI make any difference?

I am keen on an iPhone with the dynamic island feature but my concern is the selfie camera will more than likely get smudges and fingerprints more often than usual.

The smaller camera bump on the 14 is really appealing to me. I like the idea of more megapixels, but it's not like pictures with the 12 MP camera don't already look great. I'll trade that for a thinner, lighter phone with a smaller bump.
Then, the 12 Pro Max is the thinnest 5G phone with smallest camera bump.
@@mousepotatoc2566 True the 12 Pro Max is thinner, but the 14 Plus is still lighter. I think the distribution of weight will be better with the 14 Plus since it weighs around the same as the 13 Pro but has the larger screen size.

I want the iPhone 15 Pro Max myself when it comes out. I already have the iPhone 13 Pro 6.1 and love it, but the battery is so lackluster.
I have the iPhone 10 for almost 5 years now, no issue or any problems beside no 5g capability. Should I upgrade to iPhone 14?
That's a real kick in the face to give the pro Max a smaller battery than the Plus. Things like this really make me despise the people that make these decisions at Apple. Reusing the old processor is an even bigger kick in the face and only putting the dynamic Island in the pros is a big kick in the balls

I actually think the old notch looks better than the "dynamic island". And it's also less obtrusive on the screen.
The dynamic island wasn’t enough for me to change. Also I’m not huge into taking photos so the 14 plus seemed the right fit! 🙏🏼

@antoniowilson6903 Pro and Pro Max aren't in my budget. 🥲 So I'd rather consider a Plus variant of 14 or 15. Cuz I require a larger screen. My sis owns a 14 and I have a Samsung mid-range with a 120 Hz screen. So whenever I switch to her phone, It feels so darn annoying, Kinda feels slow while toggling. I'm so darn confused. Well he’s got some interesting points but I am going from an 11 Pro Max to the 14 promax I’m also going from a 256 Gb phone stepping up to the 1 TB and it’s only going to cost me $600. seems like it’s worthwhile to me thousand dollar trade-in on my 11 Pro Max.
Great info, since I am upgrading from a small 11 the battery is my main reason but going with all the bells and whistles anyway... (The 11 gets a second life as the navi unit on my motorcycle)
It only makes sense to upgrade from a 13 Pro to a 14 Pro. Once you have Pro-Motion you can’t go back. You would be worse off going from a 13 Pro to a regular 14.

i got the 14 plus 256gb in blue and i feel that more storage is better as im not a photographer so i dont think that 48mp is that important. The pro in silver is super nice but i couldnt get more storage :)
I feel like the regular 14's should be priced lower or the pro's higher. I think 14 $699, 14plus $799 and then the 14pro $999 & 14proMax $1099 would of made the regular 14's an actual option but with the prices the way they are now I say get a 14pro or a 13 for $699
My watch 7 typically gets 40% battery used in 12 hours, but when I turn the always on off, I use about 30%. I wonder if battery will improve the same on the pros with always on set to off.

I’m going to upgrade from regular 11 and I doubt between these two models, since they are almost the same in price. What is the best choice in long time term: better battery life or new features of pros
On the Apple website, “comparing” the (non pro) iPhone 13 vs iPhone 14, reveals exceedingly trivial differentiation. Apple also no longer sells any Pro model except for iPhone 14 Pro. Both facts strongly suggest that Apple is trying to funnel sales into the iPhone 14 Pro.
As usual, MaxTech is on point, with very little hype. I know so many people, myself included, who hold onto their iPhones forEVER. For me personally, this is practicality over prestige. When Apple’s reveals their AR headsets, they will be a compelling upgrade that revolutionizes the mobile industry - comparable to when the iPhone surpassed Blackberry.
If you think their AR headsets are meant to replace the iPhone, or even compare, I got some bad news for you bro.
Also, these upgrades add up over a few generations. iPhone 13 to 14 isn’t much of an upgrade, but the 10 to the 14 is. Very few people actually upgrade every year. For the average consumer and even enthusiast, this will be a great phone.
Apple doesn’t need to reinvent the wheel. I’m happy with them releasing solid upgrades and not redesigning their phone every year. I’d rather have a phone that works flawlessly than a buggy mess that makes me feel like a beta tester (IPhone X). Also not sure what you meant by Apple only sells the 14 pro, they also have the 14 pro max.
@@Dylan-qy5tc I’m imagining AR glasses as a mobile monitor with customizable content: clock, text messages, GPS, etc. AirPod batteries last a long time despite being small because they are audio specific. Similarly, i expect that AR glasses will be visual only, & require that the bulk processing (& internet connection) be handled by an iPhone. & yes, I agree w you. Most people don’t upgrade yearly; every several years typically. My reference to pro models meant that Apple no longer sells iPhone 13 Pros, etc. iPhone 13 & 14 are solid upgrades for older iPhone models. Me personally? I want to wait for USB C, & the rumored vapor chamber cooling.
It will be interesting to see how Apple will differentiate the similar features of AR glasses & Apple Watch. Both have value, but, IMO, AR glasses more so.

Apple never sells the previos pros from the past year, only new ones go on sale. But apple will keep the regular iphone from past years in the line up. So now you can get 13 and 13mini in addition to all the 14s. But no 13pro/ 13pro max. Those two can be found at the cell carrier such as AT&T, verizon, T mobil.
@@Dylan-qy5tc for AR glasses to replace iPhones, they’d have to have sufficient battery, processing, & cellular/WiFi hardware. I don’t think vapor chamber cooled 2 nanometer processors could avoid bulky weight w/o offloading much of that to an iPhone. To sell AR glasses, Apple would have to create something people would actually want to wear (fashionable), esp for women.
My AR glasses fantasy? When AR glasses are capable of replacing a monitor, & iPhones a full desktop file/folder management system. Such that people easily can work anywhere.
If you are planning to get the iPhone 14/14Plus, consider looking at the iPhone 13Pro/13ProMax first. If you can find one in stock in stores/used/refurbished, I think that's a better deal for the money.

the 13 pro max is better than 14 plus because pro-motion... it's 2022, even in low end devices we have 90hz screens... apple gives 60hz on a 800 dollar BEFORE TAX phone

Idk how I feel about that Dynamic Island. It’s so close to the edge of the phone yet just enough to be annoyingly in the way instead of just being a cut out…like…when I play a game it’ll probably hide an enemy coming towards me or something.

I gotta say now anyone who is in the creative space for tech and advises people to purchase the lesser version of an item because there’s “better value” but turns around and buys the item they steered others away from are doing a bad job as tech media people.
The concept of saying that it’s better to get the baseline version of a device over its better counterpart when the disparity in cost is 200 dollars is really not good especially when the main argument is you can upgrade the storage. Maybe a couple of years ago that could fly but that’s doesn’t work here when the base storage is the most consumed option and again they’re saying to people that it’s better to pay more for a lesser device with more storage rather than just getting the better device that offers a better experience.
Like a 256 gb version of the 14 plus would be cool but the 128gb version of the 14 pro max is always going to be better with a better camera the same battery estimates and a better display and processor.
I just find it disingenuous to have a influencer say one thing only to turn around and only use the better option for themselves. Almost as if to say it’s better for me but for you the person who could have a better experience don’t even bother because of “price”

How does the 13 Pro Max compare, which is now discounted and has more features than the 14 non-pro such as ProMotion?

Short answer yes. The pro motion and cameras alone. Plus the new island makes it worth it. But if you don't need all of that the 14 plus is the best buy over the regular 14.
I don't think anybody should get the regular 14s. You either get the 14 pros or the 13s. 13 and 14 are basically the same, the smallest upgrade in iPhone history. They even ran out of things to say at the event and started talking about how much more contents you could see with a bigger screen. It's kinda ridiculous tbh.

I'm getting a 14 Pro Max 256GB in Deep Purple. My iPhone 12 (non-pro) has served me well but there have been a few issues cropping up. Storage is a limitation having purchased the base model, overheating has been an issue, the battery is starting to degrade, and the re has been a bug where the phone will warn me that the lightning port has liquid in it when its been nowhere near any liquid, and neither has the cable.
I currently have the IPhone XR. Apparently I have too much stuff and not enough storage on the phone. So planning to get the 14 Pro Max in Deep Purple too. Still debating on GB though. My battery is still okay but not good enough for me. I start work earlier in the AM and if I’m listening to music or podcasts then by mid morning. My phone already needs to be charged. I dropped my phone in water. Since then I’ve been getting that lighting port error. New phone is for me. I don’t really need an upgrade but I want it.

I have the 11 pro max and im sooo ready to upgrade. It may not seen ideal but im looking to upgrade to one of the 14 pros cuz im kinda tired of the design and Apple's marketing has me hooked into buying an iPhone with the new Dynamic Island. I wouldve also upgraded my Apple Watch but I got a brand new series 7 LTE&cellular (upgrade from the 4 L&C) a few months ago during Amazon's Prime Day with a nice deal!

The quality of the photo depends mostly on the lens. I think the tiny 48 megapixel sensor is just hype. And the shots will just eatvup storage. Am I wrong?

I’m set on the 14 Plus 128gb. Cheaper, lighter (about same weight as my XR but bigger), battery looks great, has more than enough camera and screen quality for my needs. The camera lenses also stick out massively vs the Plus. I have my phones always in a light silicone case so color, finish makes little difference. I wonder if they have pro max available like 3 weeks earlier than the Plus to get more pro orders in from the impatient among us?! Im happy to wait and looking fwd to my Plus arriving early Oct :-)
I disagree tho, first, its still pretty heavy and it’s definitely overpriced. The iphone 13 pro max was 1000, so you should be able to find it for like 900. The 14 plus is 900, and has the same chip, but the 13 pro max has promotion, lidar, another camera (so better cameras), and a better material build IMO.
@This is not a channel I mentioned pro-motion (promotion = variable refresh rate up to 120hz) but yeah the 14 plus is a bad decision, in fact If I were to upgrade I’d get the 14 pro. The normal 14 = more expensive 13, and the 14 plus = shittier iphone 13 pro max

I thought the pro motion display was gonna be a bigger difference. I came from the 11 pro, my mother as well upgraded from the same phone to the 14 pro and she said the screen looks the same to her.

I also switch from the 12 Pro to the 14 Pro Max. Dynamic island really did. the trick for me to finally decide to get it. Apple turned a „bug“ into a very nice feature.
To be honest, the dynamic island cutout is similar to the punch hole on the s10 plus and the s10 5g but just moved to the middle instead of upper right.

iPhone prices are getting absurd. The 14 pro max 128gb costs 1560euro where i live, and apparently there is a limitation related to 4K footage which the 256gb does not have. I always bought the Pro Max's because of the larger screen. the 14 Plus is ideal. 1200euro is the max i want to spend on a phone
i tested the image quality of iphone 14 pro max and iphone 14 plus camera and it is the same. There is no point in overpaying.
people have been saying if you use your back camera on a app like snapchat or tiktok the back camera starts to shake and make noise. i’ve saw more than one person complain about this problem. i recently just ordered the iphone 14 pro max and i’m not sure if i should cancel the shipping due to this problem. you should probably check this problem out and let all of us know if it happens.

In India they have increased the price of the pro from last year which is about 125$ more than last year, so now the difference between the iPhone 14 Plus to iPhone 14 Pro Max is 500$. So can't justify spending 45% more for just 10-15% overall difference.
I got the 14+ from the 12 mini and living it. Esp the battery. I never had an iPhone last 2 days for me before. My 12 mini would be dead by lunch time lol.

bhai I am from India and I got 14 plus 256 gb for 78k from Croma and I am happy, I am not a camera centric user, I am satisfied with the excellent performance ram management software experience, decent cameras beautiful big screen and fantastic battery life, overall I am satisfied.
those who are buying iPhone for the first time(switching from android) trust me you don't feel that 120hz is matter iPhone software experience and animations are amazing. I switched from Samsung s20 fe 120 hz screen trust me I noticed much smooth than s20 fe because of iPhone's amazing ram management and smooth performance.
The 14+ is a very gadget.I love the battery 🪫 life.I don’t care about the other differences.
Yeah that is so not worth it! I have the 14+ and it’s great. Here in the states it’s only like a 100/200 dollar difference between the two. But I still didn’t think that was worth the extra dough.

I will always go with the Pro Max model. I am happy with my iPhone 13 Pro Max and I don’t feel like upgrading until the contact ends. I am on a 36 month contract and bought it almost 4 months ago. I love my 13 Pro Max. It’s an amazing device and handles almost everything I do on it. I record a lot of 4K 60 FPS HDR videos and it’s really fast. I love it a lot. It’s my favorite device I own! I rather have the 13 Pro Max over the 14 Plus. The 13 Pro Max has the stainless steel body and a slightly brighter OLED display. The cameras are already that freaking good. 📱👍

I’m gonna keep my 13 pro max too! I just got iOS 16 so there’s really no reason to switch.. the notch doesn’t bother me and I don’t really like the pill cut out. I’ll wait a while! I love my 13 pro max!!

And here iphones start at price of 980$(iphone 14). Guess I'll buy pro max and use it for 5 or more years instead of 4. In the UK the price difference between the Plus and Max is £250 (£949 vs £1199). I personally think the 14 Pro (not the 14 Pro Max version) would be a better choice than buying the 14 Plus as it's "only" £150 more. The 14 Plus will not age well from a resale point of view as it's obvious it's an older iPhone because of the notch / absence of the Dynamic Island.

I kept my 8plus from new in 2017 without ever getting the other models in between (x, xS, xR, 11, or 12 series) due to having dismal features in my opinion. My current phone gives me a decent trade in credit so for me I’ll only be out $200 for the latest & greatest… 📱😁

I have a iPhone 13. Honestly I recommend getting a case from Walmart it was $12 … my screen protector broke and I had to wait for a new one to come in and I’m clumsy and dropped twice and no cracks or scratches or anything even without the screen protector

She has a 11 and needs a batterys replacement and wasn’t worth and with Verizon promos they gave us $800 per each of our phones. Definitely wanted always on display and see how the new cameras are. @@ishyameru6232 just wait until the 14 if your getting a pro model. However I one of the people at Verizon told me come October whatever stock they have left of the 13 models will be discounted. I think 13pros will be $100 off each not sure about the regular 13. But the 14 models right now have up to $1000 off thru Verizon and AT&T I believe.

I ordered the iPhone 13 to replace the iPhone 11 after the iPhone 14 came out. Again, the feature differences between one generation isn’t much, but 2 generations is much better. The iPhone 14 Plus is tempting as a new model, but it’s still $100 more and add another $100 for more memory. That’s real money. The last generation is immediately discounted $100. Like duh!!! That’s why you hold out. I’m still sore about the iPhone 6 battery bug. The only time I was prematurely forced to upgrade to a newer model. The iPhone 13 is technically the second generation of the new iPhone form factor.

I got the 14 Pro Max and I don’t regret it like me personally I think it’s just way better like better core, battery life, cameras,and the dynamic island. Also it’s just way more premium than the 14+ which looks exactly like a 13 which brings me to the point of the fact that it looks way better and probably is stronger.

14 plus is the best option out of the line up no doubt because majority of people don’t use the extra bs features that the pro or pro max offers for the normal everyday person the 14 plus is the best option (this coming from a pro max only user from the past)
That’s what I was saying , but Reddit was saying that I am a fool & might as well pay the $200 more for the pro max. I said I want the big screen, but don’t care about the pro bells & whistles, I can take that $200 towards AirPods or something! I am at a full year with the 13 at the moment. Might see what the 15 + is about in September.
The 120hz alone is worth the extra money imo(i'd pay more honestly), anything else is a bonus. Going back to 60hz looks like a slideshow. I envy anyone who hasn't experienced it yet lol, just my opinion
