Great decision. Apple sucks tbh, and the OnePlus 12 is hands down the best phone I've ever used. I hands down the best phone I've ever used and there's just no comparison. The crazy fast charging is unreal, you can plug your phone in at 30%, go take a shower and by the time you come back in 15-20 mins, it's already at 100% lol. It's the smoothest phone I've ever used and it's just soooo customizable. You're going to wonder why you didn't switch years ago, apple is terrible, they force you're going to wonder why you didn't switch years ago. Android is just such a superior platform due to how customizable it is
This should be a One plus 12 vs IPhone 15. I know the one plus 12 is a flagship phone but they’re both the same price at $800 starting price. Using the Pro Max isn’t fair because it starts at $1199
Oneplus is great, had a OP6, OP7 Pro, and currently a OP9 Pro. Great phones, but the OS updates are too buggy and unstable at times. The android 13 update, my home swipe wouldn't work and I had to backup my data and factory reset the phone. That's unacceptable in my book. Also they don't hold any trade in value, even from Oneplus. I went ahead and return to Samsung after all these years.
My experience as well. The hardware is great and everything is awesome the first year, but as soon as major OS updates come around, all bets are off. The bugs and constant breaking of basic features like incoming calls on my 7T was unacceptable and Oxygen OS12 made things even worse. Hardware is top notch but I have zero faith in their long term software support.
I've been holding onto my iPhone XR waiting for a phone that has a decent display for PWM sensitive people. For the first time in my life I am considering the switch to Android and getting the OnePlus 12. All reviews point to a really great display that won't kill your eyes.
the 4500 nits claims probably done by measuring a single pixel. oneplus does sound a little over distort maybe they're trying to max out the speaker beyond its limit.
Nope, it's a 10% window. But there is an option in the developer settings which you need to enable and you can achieve that peak. It's only an experimental option for measuring brightness and not actually useful
@@serrael-182 They say it. They say 800 nits max for manual, 1600 max for outdoora and 4500 nits peak brightness. They never advertised the 4500 nits as a sustained number

1. See when we say flagship killer, it doesn't necessarily mean better than flagships in every way, Rather it means, providing several flagship features and hardware at a significantly lower price, hence making you wonder if it's really worth paying almost double for a flagship when this phone can performs 95% similar in real life 2. Regarding brightness, u'll see it only when it's in auto mode under sunlight, that's why u couldn't observe it well 3. You should have waited couple months more to make camera comparison, as always they roll out the first update soon, making everything significantly better and more optimised, then it would be a fair comparison of thier max potential But overall great video!
Listen, here’s the deal I own every Apple product I’ve ever made and I can honestly tell you my iPhone 15 Pro Max feels exactly like my iPhone 13 Pro Max, which felt exactly like my iPhone X and it’s just annoying and we basically keep on buying the same phone every single year with subtle subtle modifications, while other companies like Google and Samsung are pushing the limits of AI and featuresand you take a look at yourself and you say why would I want to buy the same phone over and over again that only does the same things I blame Apple for losing my interest in Apple I think I’m gonna start as the real leaders of technology
I agree on one hand, but on the other hand, and at the end of the day iPhone and more iOS is just state of the art in terms of just working! Camera is awesome even on the iPhone SE or the basic iPhone 15 models. So maybe the Pro models aren't that innovative but I would always prefer even an iPhone SE over an Android cause it has the same functionality and support as the big models! I'm having the 15 Pro Max and before that the 13 Pro and don't see that big difference (apart from the camera, which is amazing) I tried Pixel, Sony and Samsung but at the end I always ended up with iPhone cause it's just smooth and working!
I miss my O+5. It was such a good phone. But one day it got an update and it restarted and never turned back on again... Scared to buy O+ phone again after that
Fun Fact : Exynos 2400 is even better than the 8 Gen 3 in Ray Tracing Performance according to Solar Bay benchmark. Also, despite being weaker in benchmarks in raw graphics, the Exynos pumps out FPS that are neck and neck with the 8 Gen 3. Gotta give credit to Samsung's new team for Exynos.
Excellent video, as a suggestion I recommend you make the comparisons of the photographs taken with both phones on a PC, since the screens of the devices are different which can lead to a false perception of how they capture the colors. On a screen on a device the colors can be shown more or less saturated among other aspects
Best phone so far with that price also. Better than S24 in many ways. 1. Better, bigger battery and charge waaay faster. 2. Better screen due to more BIT colors and smoother scrrolling due to their new tec and much brighter. 3. CPU has been showen better in many benchmark tests here on TH-cam. 4. Face onlock is way faster and does not lack in miss readinga.... Basically This phone is better in all the areas that really matters.... Samsung still have a better camera tho if you are into that sort of things and some gimmic things that really doesn't matter..... It's pure crap by Samsung to have a phone like that with that price when you can get this.
you're def not wrong. how long does OP usually push out software, use qol, security updates? thinking about picking it up over the s24u if they push out updates as much as samsung
The iPhone 15 Pro Max 256GB in my Country in Europe costs €1500 while i can import the Oneplus 12 256GB for €650...less than half. Ignoring the ecosystems what should i get? I think it's getting harder and harder for Apple (and Samsung) to justify those stupid high prices...
I’m very happy this phone came out. As an iPhone user, I want to see Androids get better and better so that Apple will be forced to improve faster than they are. When I upgrade from my 13 Pro, which has been the best phone I have ever owned, I hope the upgrade is extremely noticeable. After 13 years, I have no desire to switch to Android. I just want them to surpass the iPhone so Apple has to compete. It’s better for both iPhone and Android users at the end of the day.
I agree. Competition moves all companies forward. I did switch from Android (Oneplus 7 Pro and Realme GT2 Pro) to an iphone 14 PM, and it was not a very good experience software wise. I prefer a lot more how Android does stuff than Apple, but I do think that having one company doing good things will make others follow up.
So actually, for the OP 12 you need the brightness on auto for it to hit it's speak of 4500 nits, or at least thats what MrWhoseTheBoss did to get it to show. Either way I love the screen on my 15 pro, i wouldn't need a crazy peak of 4500 nit brightness. 😂

Iphones don't have any vapor chambers, they keep making more powerful chips and including ANY HEAT MANAGEMENT system. Which is why the 14Pro line up had for power users faster battery degradation. Can't wait to see what happens to the 15pro line up in 5 months
I really like the blind camera tests you guys do and now I have a pretty good idea of how iPhone stacks up to Samsung and Google. Would love to see that with other smartphones. It is both fun and insightful to do the tally and see the results
Thanks for your Honest Review. I have a One Plus 8 and thinking of the One Plus 12. It's like 1/2 the price of Apple and Samsung. So I'm ordering the One Plus 12!!! With Discounts, I can get it for $700 (trade-in) so it's a no-brainer and doesn't hurt my wallet when I need to upgrade to something faster in the future. I'm just bummed that One Plus didn't bring their One Plus 12 (24GB, 1TB) phone to the US, Only China. I would have bought it in a Heartbeat!!! I need 24GB of Memory. Anyways, I've had no problems with One Plus. It's the only phone, I've ever owned that actually lasted more than a year. I've had my share of Apple Phones and their Hype and Price don't entice me as well as their "Controlled" way of doing anything on the phone. Android for the Win for me! BTW, Subscribed!!! Nice to see a non-biased reviewer out there. Kudos to a Job Well Done!!!
By setting the OP12 to full megapixel count you lose pixel binning and end up with a worse picture, so not a great comparison but otherwise great review as always!
if im not mistaken you tried to activate maximum brightness but In manual mode.. it should activate in auto only.. so it was with all phones.. I don't see here that you achieved that.. I'm still waiting for my to arrive
I never understand why reviewers all do the exact same thing when reviewing oneplus phones. They take the most expensive phones they can (Latest ultra from samsung or Iphone Pro Max) and then show how "close" it gets. But surely if you are trying to be give a fair go to the OnePlus you would show how good its hardware is compared to a phone thats actually in it's price category like the base Iphone 15. I just dont see many customers looking at an iphone pro max and a Oneplus 12 because they are worlds apart in price. When you do that the Oneplus becomes a far more compelling product. This is just comparing apples to oranges.
apple only focuses on build quality. But android phones not only focuses on build quality but also listening to their fans feedback. I will always be an android fan.

As a current iPhone owner (iPhone 13), I'll be getting the new OnePlus 12 with 512GB and 16gb RAM as my next upgrade (had OnePlus 6T). I'm just tired of paying more for less ! To get an equivalent on the Apple side, you have to get the iPhone pro max and upgrade the storage to 512GB....that double the price here in Canada ! Apple, wake up !

The tech is there it’s just soooo many steps and apps that have to be used for appple just to come up a tiny bit short. Anywho leaving the 15 pro max for the s24 🎉 😂
Been an android user my entire life , switched to iOS this year to see why people are so obsessed with iPhones , long story short it’s the worst decision I have ever made, now I can’t wait for the s25 ultra to come out cause I’m definitely switching back 😂😂
The OnePlus 12 leaves Apple in the dust - bye bye bye Apple - THE 12 ROCKS !!!! I ordered mine immediately after the OnePlus Keynote !!!
waiting for mine traded in 11
Haha keep dreaming
Keep dreaming 😂
I know this may sound crazy but I’m trading in my 15 Pro Max for this phone. I can’t wait to get off the Apple high price train.
Android is just such a superior platform due to how customizable it is
It would be the worst decision u wud ever make and will be back in no time
@@jamesw657 oneplus is garbage
This should be a One plus 12 vs IPhone 15. I know the one plus 12 is a flagship phone but they’re both the same price at $800 starting price. Using the Pro Max isn’t fair because it starts at $1199
Specs
I haave a oneplus 9, never any issues.
Imagine my surprise when I noticed these guys are actually different. You both look like twins.
I've been holding onto my iPhone XR waiting for a phone that has a decent display for PWM sensitive people. For the first time in my life I am considering the switch to Android and getting the OnePlus 12. All reviews point to a really great display that won't kill your eyes.
And significantly superior battery performance and charging
And the charger included in the box
Great video! I'm actually going Android and upgrading from the 15 Pro Max. Got my pre-order in for the one plus 12!
Good choice 👍
Nice
the 4500 nits claims probably done by measuring a single pixel.
oneplus does sound a little over distort maybe they're trying to max out the speaker beyond its limit.
jup haha. probably when the whole display off and just a single pixel is on it can shine with 4500 nits
Nope, it's a 10% window. But there is an option in the developer settings which you need to enable and you can achieve that peak. It's only an experimental option for measuring brightness and not actually useful
@@eduard6450they shoudnt have done the advertising if its like that. Feels very close to lying.
@serrael-182 not really most ly does that it's partial temporary brightness
@@serrael-182 They say it. They say 800 nits max for manual, 1600 max for outdoora and 4500 nits peak brightness. They never advertised the 4500 nits as a sustained number
All these geek bench scores are irrelevant when it comes to daily usage of a smartphone.
But when iPhone beats android in these test you say it's soo Relevant. OnePlus will be much faster day to day then iPhone especially running daily tasks and better CPU cooling.
watching from OnePlus 12🔥
Me too 😂 switched from an S23U bc I'm tired of the crazy pricing. I used to have a OnePlus 6 and a McLaren Edition back in the day
@@andrewsolis2988 🙌❤️
1. See when we say flagship killer, it doesn't necessarily mean better than flagships in every way, Rather it means, providing several flagship features and hardware at a significantly lower price, hence making you wonder if it's really worth paying almost double for a flagship when this phone can performs 95% similar in real life
2. Regarding brightness, u'll see it only when it's in auto mode under sunlight, that's why u couldn't observe it well
3. You should have waited couple months more to make camera comparison, as always they roll out the first update soon, making everything significantly better and more optimised, then it would be a fair comparison of thier max potential
But overall great video!
Apple needs to cut down on marketing expenses and put that money in actual science and technological innovation
Did you turn on High Performance mode on OnePlus 12 before tests. By default turned off.
Most likely had it off
I miss my O+5. It was such a good phone. But one day it got an update and it restarted and never turned back on again... Scared to buy O+ phone again after that
Still uding it since then as main phone and its fukin smooth snd fast
Apple needs to cut down on marketing expenses and put that money in actual science and technological innovation
I’m an Apple user, won’t switch for many reasons, but I’ve always loved one plus. They just kill it for the price
You definitely did not have high performance mode on when you did the benchmarks because the oneplus 12 has over 7200 points on multicore
Finally, someone with brain quallcomm has no rt tech, but they fake it funded software
@@kalpanajagarlamudi8795 dude what? Qualcomm literally does have ray tracing tech
Even funner fact: Solar Bay is reflections only RT test, so mostly worthless for determining RT performance.
@@Samhain__UK yes, this is in fact correct
Gotta give credit to AMD for that gpu in exynos not Samsung's new team for Exynos.
Would love to see a comparison of OnePlus 12 and the most basic IPhone 15 - as it’s price range are closer to eachother and therefore more comparable.
GREAT JOB ONE PLUS... GREAT PRODUCT. GREAT PRICE. MARKET DISRUPTION. AKA FLAG SHIP KILLER
Oneplus's display is bright enough to be comfortably legible all the time. So i don't know why you want to kill yourself over it.
13:55 im kinda liking the one plus more ngl 😂 iphone looks artificialy sharpen while 1+ have more crispy looking shot
Excellent video, as a suggestion I recommend you make the comparisons of the photographs taken with both phones on a PC, since the screens of the devices are different which can lead to a false perception of how they capture the colors. On a screen on a device the colors can be shown more or less saturated among other aspects
Did you turn on Dolby Atmos and Spacial audio on OnePlus 12?
Exactly 🤣 he's biased towards iphone lol
@@ghostedsuicide4 years for major updates and I think 5 years for security.
@@Broski__ Which is pretty neat for a Chinese phone company. I didn't regret buying a OP11 in 2023. It rocks!

S24 ultra doesn't have a better camera
Geekbench is an apple glazer, I wish we would compare antutu scores from android and ios directly
3d Marks is best cause Its also comparing cooling system. When iphone started to overheat it slowed down a lot

Apple is behind but the more elderly crowd is Apple to tech crowd is young
Android has surpassed iPhone.
@ElCarnivoroBBQ No
I agree. Competition moves all companies forward. I did switch from Android (Oneplus 7 Pro and Realme GT2 Pro) to an iphone 14 PM, and it was not a very good experience software wise. I prefer a lot more how Android does stuff than Apple, but I do think that having one company doing good things will make others follow up.
you said oneplus 12 is the budget best phone?what if compared to z60 ultra which one will you go for
Curious how the snapdragon 8 gen 3 does video rendering (speed)
Like average people get up every day and render videos?!
@@villavan😂😂😂
I hope you’ll be comparing it with the S24 Ultra too…
Still waiting for the S24s to come in
So actually, for the OP 12 you need the brightness on auto for it to hit it's speak of 4500 nits, or at least thats what MrWhoseTheBoss did to get it to show. Either way I love the screen on my 15 pro, i wouldn't need a crazy peak of 4500 nit brightness. 😂
It is nice in the Texas summer sun.
What about the efficiency? Look again at 3d mark 20.8 vs 29fps
iPhone camera is the 3rd best so yeah that's justified 😂
Dude that phone is much better than that pro max 😊
Oneplus 12 rivals the iPhone 15 not pro Max for its price. And it completly destroys the iPhone.
oneplus win every on everything
iphone win on camera
iphone kid : ahhh we won
android user that can buy 2 oneplus and stay at least 10 year using them :🗿
yes iphone win on camera but yall forget the price?! the double on lower Ram 😂
for me the IR blaster in the OP12 convinced me to migrate from Iphone 15 to it.
Iphones don't have any vapor chambers, they keep making more powerful chips and including
ANY HEAT MANAGEMENT system. Which is why the 14Pro line up had for power users faster battery degradation. Can't wait to see what happens to the 15pro line up in 5 months
I think OnePlus 12 is better
I really like the blind camera tests you guys do and now I have a pretty good idea of how iPhone stacks up to Samsung and Google.
Would love to see that with other smartphones. It is both fun and insightful to do the tally and see the results
WWWHHHHHHYYYYYYYYYY!!!!! Max Tech? Why are you not including a battery test???🧐 Please do a battery test a standard feature of your comparisons. 🤓
Thanks for your hard work brother ❤
80watts charger for the one plus?
My fiancée bought his OnePlus 12 yesterday and had a 100w included 🤔
if im not mistaken you tried to activate maximum brightness but In manual mode.. it should activate in auto only.. so it was with all phones.. I don't see here that you achieved that.. I'm still waiting for my to arrive
For this Review, I just zoomed to the last section of the video for a quick review 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Remember being at school did your maths teacher ever say "three ex five equals fifteen"? No it's 'times', 'two times, three times' etc.
I will always be an android fan.
i just bought the op 12 today went with the silky black one, the emerald is too exotic looking for my taste ....anyways i just wish glossy white would've been an option like in other regions...oh well. Also could really care less about the brightness we are all going blind as it is...with eye strain and what not.
Apple, wake up !
man love the surface of your table. how you guys make that?
I have the open and think it's the phone of the year from last year. Although I have the s24 ultra I'm still getting the OnePlus 12 the price is crazy for what you get!

You'd have to use manual mode probably to lighten up the shot and bring out the shadows

This is the best phone on the market hands down and for 500 less then most. Like wtf? Lol also it is a flagship cost doesnt matter when the specs are this good. Its got flagship equipment.
I did a test between my old Samsung s23 plus iPhone 13 and wife's iPhone 15 and the OnePlus is away better in photos
those being phones, used to be the main purpose of which is for communication, i would also like to know which ones are better in terms of signal reception and transmission. could prove vital in cases of emergency when in far flung places or places with weak signal, where the marginal advantage of one could provide a big difference. having outstanding cameras, display and power for better gaming are all good. but let's not forget, those are not the only purpose of phones.
Must important thing, charger on the box with real fast charging. OnePlus please, a small version with flat screen 🙏
Nord 2t flat and smaller screen.
Wrong. Watching the brightness comparison. The iPhone is Clearly not as bright as the one plus 12. Watch your video
The zoom camera test was unfair. You should've zoomed 120x on oneplus and compared it to iphone 25x + digital, as oneplus could then do ai stuff better just like iphone did.
Samsung:We want innovation. Apple: We want stupid customers.
What's Samsung have to do with this? He's comparing iPhone to OnePlus, not Samsung. 💀
If oneplus can improve thier camra software this phone will be a win and also fix so that it disnt throttlenfor no reason + in gaming the oneplus has a special chip to be able to play unsupported games in 120fps and make the resolution higher
