Koch Chemie Motorplast is an amazing engine bay dressing. You spray on and just let air dry. When dry, it's dry. No stickiness. And the look afterward is magnifico!
I’m a proud owner of a 1958 corvette that has been in my family since 1960. I’ve enjoyed watching your videos and using your products so I can make my corvette the best that it can look in 65 years. Thank you!
This was interesting; hadn't seen the engine bay on a C8 before. Believe it or not, I've never washed the engine bay on my own (serious) car, if you like. After a wash, I wipe down the engine and accessories, as quite a bit of water gets in through the vents on the hood. By the time I go over all of it, maybe 5 minutes if I reach all the way down, the engine bay looks like it was detailed. 17 years now. Been doing it since day-1. I'm posting this in hopes that someone may find the idea useful. BTW, thank you for putting the gift certificates on sale. I'm excited to pick up some products and pads.
Another tip: watch out for water intrusion in via the engine air ducting. Some engines have open engine air ducts (or large exposed air cleaners for carbureted motors) to be aware of. Cover with a trash bag or dam the opening with an appropriately sized towel to keep water out where it doesn't belong. Might be a difficult conversation if you need to buy the client a new motor!
Great Video!! How would you treat a brand new C8 2024 Corvette engine?? Essentially direct from GM and the dealer?? Could I use Interior Clean and Protect and then Interior Ceramic??? Thank you
Best looking Corvette? They all look great, except one - the C8. And I say that as a C8 Z51 owner! It's really just the rear, it looks like it goes on a different car, and seems to be kinda Lambo-inspired. Love the car, the driving, the sound. Not crazy about the boy-racer looks of the rear.
I have quick beads gold standard and a cutting pad in my cart but you guys are out of stock on the waffle 5.5'' pad so hopefully it comes in soon so I can get my hands on the quick beads
Ma corvette favorite est ma 1978 noire que j'ai depuis 34 ans. Je trouve que interior clean and protect travaille super bien. Pour l'intérieur du hood. Laisse un fini pas trop brillant en plus de repousser la poussière.
Rinseless wash with stronger mix solve my problem. Pressure sprayer and some of MF towel needs. Yvan, you have changed my mind. Thank you everything. My, fav video is on hawk pro channel. Black Subaru rinseless washing. ❤️❤️❤️😇
Hey guys, thanks for the video. This is off topic but need some advice please. I've copied your method of using a dampened towel with your rinseless wash for removing polish from panels, which has really helped , but my question is , if I'm doing a coating with your 5 year ceramic for example, I'm concerned about leaving residue from the rinseless wash on the panels even after using your panel prep spray. I'm wondering if i should be going over the vehicle twice with prep spray before coating. I'm thinking there would be bonding issues if not thoroughly removing the rinseless. Your thoughts please.
I’m not fessing up what I did as a teenager to leaky 70’s engines but it involved a warm engine, engine block cleaner, and brake cleaner. The more water pressure the better the caked on oil came off. After cleaning I would fire up the engine to make sure it worked. The C3’s were designed the best on the exterior and interior. The interiors on C4’s were cool too but the engines were slow. A retro mod could be cool. Is this the Corvette with the flat crank? I would love to hear that engine roar.
If you want to keep your engine dry and have less, install Speedway Composites rain and debris diverters. Makes cleaning your car much easier and it stays cleaner.
You destoyeed a lot of fears for me with this one so thank you. I will have my Corvette but they are no joke to take care of. Do you have a video cleaning the convertible? just curious Do you recommend those bay and engine covers? Thanks!
Happy Grey Cup Sunday Yvan! Félicitations aux Alouettes de Montréal! Can you clean a dirty engine bay with Rinseless Wash, and if you use it with All Clean or another APC, do you have to rinse it after, or can you just wipe it dry?
Speedway Composites diverters keep water, dust and debris off your engine. And their Chassis X Brace looks great over the engine while significantly increasing torsional rigidity.
Off topic. I tried to wipe polish off with rinseless wash first, then come back with a plush dry towel and it was very grabby to wipe off. Didn’t like it.
@@diydetailofficial initial wipe with dampened rinse-less was short nap, then came back with a semi plush for second wipe. Maybe it was the polish I was using(not gold standard).
I have a 65 bigblock, 69 smallblock, and a 23 C8. In the engine bay the large horizontal flat areas between the engine and the fenders are blotchy looking from water sitting there at the dealership before I bought it. Is there any way to remove those stains? They aren't waterspots per se but almost like discoloration.
Your videos are great, keep it up, I learned a lot from You and from Pan The Organizer, unfortunately DIY Detail currently does not have products available in Croatia :( maybe one day, greetings HR
So, you clean the engine compartment, but not to worry as you're washing the outside of the car. Now, you wash the outside and it's IMPOSSIBLE to keep the water going into the vents alongside the rear window. Now you've got your engine compartment all wet again. Like a dog chasing his tail.
First of all why would you ever let your motor get this dirty!! I wouldn’t do this in a million years to my car. And if you absolutely have to soak your engine, get a leaf blower and blow all of the water off after your done.. If you don’t there will be water sitting in places that you’ll never get out.

Best product for engines I’ve used. And it’s Benz approved

Nice car and good job cleaning! May I ask what's the brand and price for the floor mat?
Unfortunately I don’t know

Oh 3 pedals, the way fun cars should be.
Thanks, I was wondering about your products on the engine bay. I have used Green Star and then used Motorplast as a dressing before.

C3 and C6 are timeless

Our Rinseless leaves nothing on the surface.
Can you guys post cleaning an old engine model. Carburetor exposed etc
If we find one, yes.

Yes, but I still prefer the sound of a push rod small block.
Great video! Have you ever done a video on detailing C7 Grand Sport engine? The quick beads product looks great
Not yet
Excellent tutorial video sirs! What are you doing when spraying and coating near the drive belts? Do we avoid that area with soap and quick beads?
No need to avoid them.
Great video as always! Rinse wash has so many uses.
Yes it does!
I have the same flooring. Does a rinseless wash or other cleaners damage the flooring?
Not that we have experienced.

A clean engine is a very happy engine 👍🏻
Yes indeed!
Do you wear a belt. I use a buckleless belt from autozone

Engine of the C8 I'm talking about.
Try a little DIY Detail Water Spot Remover, if not a dressing will help.
Where is the alternator on a C8?

I have a C8 engine detail on Friday so I was wondering where it was to cover it.
No need to cover it.

Thank you, ask your favourite detailing store to carry DIY Detail.
“Shaked it up”
wtf does that mean?
The DIY Detail Quick Beads needs to be shaken before using.
@@diydetailofficialI think you missed the point. Shaked isn’t a word. The correct word is shook. You shook it up.
That C8 owners can really up the engine bay by adding a custom painted engine cover and add the engine appearance panels!
Yes for sure.

It’s easier than that
I hear so many different opinions on engine bays
I hear don’t use a hose, use a pressure washer, vice versa, to don’t wash it at all
Interesting
Do what works for you, in the end it’s your engine.
