I love watching a Metallica fan develop. It's like seeing an infant slowly coming of age. Master of puppets, flailing arms and legs, some slobber bubbles here and there. I've struck some anvils throughout the years, never sounded anything like that. Since they have solid, brick like design, sound doesn't reverberate and last as long as with a bell like object. Same for hammers. It's more like a blink blink blink.

hey you two!! i love how you love to feel their lyrics and music, i been listening to metallica for 30+ years and their music and lyrics still blow me away till this day!!
"No man is an Island, intire of it selfe; every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the maine; if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were, as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were; any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde; And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." Donne, 1624. That's what Hemingway used in the prologue of 'For Whom The Bell Tolls', written in 1939. The Spanish Civil War was an odd thing where basically it was socialists versus fascists... just before WWII kicked off, the soviets were backing the leftist Republican (nothing to do with ours, just 'loyal to the republic') forces and Franco's fascist/nationalist forces were backed by Germany. The latter were the ultimate winners, the Republicans being forced into the hills for guerilla fighting and tactics. A man by the name of El Sordo was performing a raid in support of a larger mission, and these 5 men were caught on a hilltop and surrounded. Fighting to the last, they shouted insults at the small plane that dropped the bomb... This is the song. That larger mission? Blow a bridge and sever a link the fascist forces... actually didn't even need any more. They'd already pushed through and around the area and were closing in on the main republican camp, so the fighters went and blew the bridge up anyways out of pride or out of some sense of mission. The book ends with the last man (an American, long story addressed in book) mortally wounded and laid out with his weapon waiting to ambush any troops that came by.
Listen/react to Metallica's instramental songs like: Anesthesia/Pulling Teeth (sitback and listen to the amazing bass solo from Cliff Burton); Call of Ktulu, Orion, or To Live is to Die (close your eyes and enjoy the ride).
I'm catching up on your reactions, I'm glad I watched them chronologically because it's quite funny how you evolved from being uncomfortable in the first reaction (especially Rheasia) and how you're really feeling the music now! I think most people don't like metal because they haven't really listened to it and their ears aren't used to it. It was definitely my case and I think it's the same for you guys. I like comparing metal with spicy food. It takes some getting used to, you can directly taste the heaviest music/hottest pepper and expect to like it, it needs to be progressive lol 😄
"Take a look to the sky just before you die It is the last time you will" That always hit me as a very strong reference to the War and Peace character Bolkonsky and the Austerlitz sky.
I LOVE seeing these! Unfortunately for me I came up from a time and place that this was all "angry crazy white boy music" and it wasn't even given a chance. So now when I see younger generations and multi cultured kids enjoying this stuff, I finally feel like YES! SEE! I've been trying to tell y'all this for 2 decades LMFAO. Enjoy it guys. Metallica is and always will be a staple in my music library. The first 3 albums before Cliff Burton are their absolute best work. The instrumental on Master of Puppets - Orion even won awards. Learn all of the first 3. These are albums you listen to from start to end without skipping or stopping.
Watching this is like me hearing it for the first time again. I first heard it back in 1988. Been a metal fan ever since. Thank you, guys. Great video.
You know they do a ton of their songs with the san francisco orchestra? Albums are S&M and S&M 2. Just insane to hear metallica with an orchestra. Its amazing
guys, this has been one of my favorite songs since it came out, ive listened to it thousands of times over the decades and i have no idea what all the words are and seeing the lyrics on your video the words i thought i knew were wrong....
Love y’all’s enthusiasm and energy. It’s rare to see real reactions and you both have an authenticity that come through the screen. I’d love to see you react to some puck rock like: Rancid - Tattoo Dropkick Murphys - Flanagan’s Ball Bad Religion- American Jesus (but there are better songs) NoFX - Dinosaurs Will Die Misfits - Where Eagles Dare You may want the lyric videos
lol. I love these two! He was cracking me up and she's adorable too. That's great. See we aren't all so different. It's really just a musical story from an old war movie. It was literally five soldiers on a hill against a massive force. It was just describing their despair, but they were still fighting, while facing certain death. Great song! I'm glad they could appreciate the lyrics. It's actually rap rhyming words, just to a different beat..
just stumbled across you guys and loving your journey into metal/rock music plus the way you try to understand what its about is awesome keep up the good work
I grew up with Metallica from starting to end I also grew up with old school hip hop which I still love to this day it is refreshing to see you guys reacting to Metallica
As a longtime music listener and enthusiastic metalhead, its great to see people who have not had the opportunity to be exposed to metal music or where metal was not culturally relevant enough to have reached their ears....to see them be open minded enough to give it a try and fall in love with the style is great. Metal transcends identity and sets ablaze the human spirit. Welcome Chris and Rheasia to if not the most agressively badassed rebellious and energized style of music known to our species. "Flight Of Icarus".......etc., are all bangers that tell a historic tale. I bet you'll love it.

I really like your reaction guys, keep up the good work, peace and love from a metalhead from the far east 🖤🖤😈🤘🏽🤘🏽
Love the enthusiasm! So good to see everyone enjoying music! It’s the universal language!
Subscribe to your channel because of this!
Also I had to like my own comment 😂
"No man is an Island, intire of it selfe;
every man is a piece of the Continent, a part of the maine;
if a Clod bee washed away by the Sea, Europe is the lesse, as well as if a Promontorie were,
as well as if a Mannor of thy friends or of thine owne were;
any mans death diminishes me, because I am involved in Mankinde;
And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee." Donne, 1624.
The book ends with the last man (an American, long story addressed in book) mortally wounded and laid out with his weapon waiting to ambush any troops that came by.
originally from john donne, meditation 17
I was going to mention that the song is at least partly based on Hemingway’s novel.
Thank you!
Wow! That was awesome. Thank you for taking the time to drop some knowledge on us. Very much appreciated...
Boom. I love it. Thank you for posting
Listen/react to Metallica's instramental songs like: Anesthesia/Pulling Teeth (sitback and listen to the amazing bass solo from Cliff Burton); Call of Ktulu, Orion, or To Live is to Die (close your eyes and enjoy the ride).
The words "bass solo. Take one." Give me goose bumps every time.
It takes some getting used to, you can directly taste the heaviest music/hottest pepper and expect to like it, it needs to be progressive lol 😄
your joy in this music is so pure and beautiful.
I love yall energy so much haha. Never give up good folks!!
"Take a look to the sky just before you die
It is the last time you will"
That always hit me as a very strong reference to the War and Peace character Bolkonsky and the Austerlitz sky.
For me it was like...when you're on your back, bleeding out and the last thing you will see it's the sky...
TIME MARCHES ON
I love that you guys diagnose the lyrics! You guys pretty much get it dead on too.
It must be awesome to hear the stuff for the first time some of us been hearing these for 30 years and still love it
Got you again! Never ends brothers ! Metallica has a whole pile of them !
System of a down..."Chop Suey"!
This 1,000,000%

Watching this is like me hearing it for the first time again. I first heard it back in 1988. Been a metal fan ever since. Thank you, guys. Great video.
It’s so good to see your enthusiasm and your commitment to understand. Really, you’re a very refreshing pair of hosts!
METALLICA-CREEPING DEATH(LIVE)..
PANTERA-DOMINATION(LIVE)
His face tho, I believe thats the face we all make when Kirk and James let loose for the first time
You know they do a ton of their songs with the san francisco orchestra? Albums are S&M and S&M 2. Just insane to hear metallica with an orchestra. Its amazing
guys, this has been one of my favorite songs since it came out, ive listened to it thousands of times over the decades and i have no idea what all the words are and seeing the lyrics on your video the words i thought i knew were wrong....
U guys are awesome! Opening up to different genres of music and getting enveloped into the music and lyrics
Love y’all’s enthusiasm and energy. It’s rare to see real reactions and you both have an authenticity that come through the screen.
I’d love to see you react to some puck rock like:
Rancid - Tattoo
Dropkick Murphys - Flanagan’s Ball
Bad Religion- American Jesus (but there are better songs)
NoFX - Dinosaurs Will Die
Misfits - Where Eagles Dare
You may want the lyric videos
This song is about the fall of modern warfare
From the book by Ernest Hemingway
Do creeping death, and disposable heroes next!😛love ya all and your reactions!
It does my heart good to see people enthusiastically enjoying stuff like music.
I really appreciate the lyric analysis. It's refreshing from reaction channels
"Hail to the King" Avenged 7Fold
Donna Ransom YESSS
Absolutely, Chris and Rheasia should definitely do a reaction to "Hail To The King" by Avenged Sevenfold
The opening scene of Zombieland with this song was EPIC!
Im 18. And im listening to what my dad listened in his 20's. Proof that Metallica gave us a contagious feeling for another bang on the drums
just stumbled across you guys and loving your journey into metal/rock music plus the way you try to understand what its about is awesome keep up the good work
We need Disposable Heroes!! Nice reaction
Came here to say this!
Hail to the king: Avenged sevenfold
React to Metallica "one" video....I know you did a lyric reaction. The Video wil make more sense
Awe man .... LMFAO!... YOU GUYS ARE STRAIT UP AWESOME!. I love your passion for the meaning and feelings of these songs! ✊ Hell yeah
I grew up with Metallica from starting to end I also grew up with old school hip hop which I still love to this day it is refreshing to see you guys reacting to Metallica
guys, It's rad when you find a cool grove, it's like listening in a different way
They dance like they are hearing..a rap song..mmm quite disturbing..
bill s213 screw you not everyone can understand something new. Let them jam into something they’ve never heard of
@@krow4249 of course they can express the way they want in my point of view it seems as i comment above and be polite peace!
@@krow4249 in metal you get points for being disturbing, welcome to the rabbit hole
Loved the end “Noooooo” Lol 😂 true Metallica fans ❤️
Funniest Metallica reaction ever. Hands down. Holy fuck lol
Real tears
Y'all are serious relationship goals. Your videos make my day. Thanks being so open minded. Its so refreshing
Really enjoying this channel. Dude is smart and feels the music and lyrics as a whole
This song is about soldiers in Spanish civil war. There is a book also, called for whom the bells tolls
Lamb of God “Memento Mori”
Lamb of God”512”
Lamb of God “Omerta “
I'd say Momento Mori, Walk With Me In Hell, and 11th Hour or Laid To Rest
I think they would like Ghost Walking
20 years worth of gems to choose from. “Descending “ “Grace” “Black Label”... can’t really go wrong. 🤘🏽
Are you going to copy-paste this onto every fucking video?
Well, those are the songs I would like to see reactions to. So I request them on each video I watch.
Metallica for whom the bell tolls is about troops put into a battle ground in war teams or 5 men fighting together for a pointless political war‼️🤟
just binge watched some of your vids..loving you guys. Metallica pack leader for sure..
Heavy fuckin' metal! \m/ Iron strong community as well.
