Where is the best place to buy decent tools ? I pretty Much just got in to leather crafts and man i love it, bought the cheap tools off eBay and ya u definitely get what u pay for i guess lol. Any help would be much appreciated
Oh, thank YOU, sir! This idea of your bump jigs is ingenious. I'm an old retired guy on a fixed income budget, but I'll be ordering something soon...and another something after that...and...etc...
I’m just starting out and I’ve slowly collected all the tools I should need over the last year and this is the most helpful video I’ve found so far. Using the jigs and a right angle square with anti slip tape has helped so much in “starting off square”. Thank you so much
I've been doing leatherwork for years but I still learn things from others along the way. Thanks a bunch you make this so much more streamlined. I saved easily a half hour from laying out a 5 piece project.
I spent my extra money before I saw your jigs. My next order will be your jigs, freaking amazing and I will start with the arc jig then the bar jigs. You are your perfect example for the use of your jigs. I love them
Mr. SHell, I can't begin to tell you the effect you have had on my leather working efforts. Eventually, I would like to pass these skills on to the next generation. Again, many thanks.
Thanks for this video. It seems simple, but sometimes having someone explain something this way makes all the difference. Got to invest in your jig sets...
Thanks for watching! You are correct... it’s second nature for me, but difficult to “explain” in only photographs (my Instagram). I figured a video would help.
I've adopted some of your techniques when I started watching your videos about a year ago much appreciated and thank you there is definitely a lot of inspiration to be found in your videos so thank you once again
It is very pleasant to watch or observe a person, when aperson is masterfully doing their job, you can immediately see the person as a master of his craft
At last some one talking with no background music, I learned so much on this video, top tips and measuring speed skills, especially the arbor press on the stamps, will have show this to my local metal work shop to get bars and jigs in the 🇬🇧 well done.
Not only are the products you make top notch, but all of your videos are fun to watch and highly informative! I noticed that you ALREADY had your coffee ready before you started working; I’d call that a pro tip. Thanks man 👍🏼
BOOM! What a way to start my day, yes sir! If you're a struggling newbie like me then you will dance the jig buy minute 2. Many thanks Mason Leather you selfless, faceless man!
Man thanks for the info. This trick is one that I have used in my 20 year carpentry career a lot. But didn't think about it for another material. When I got into leather seeing your videos showed me this, and has saved time and leather more than I can express. Your products are top notch my friend, and I thank you for sharing this info with us all.
Heck yeah man. My bump jig on site is either my speed square or any straight piece of anything. Just to make certain things are flush. Even the old Eagle eye isnt as good as a bump jig. I read your info in a magazine online before and thought that the Mascon name was awesome. I'm sure your father was as talented of a builder as you are a leather artisan. I really am intrigued by leather craft. I'm actually borderline obsessed with it at this point. It's 915 pm and I'm making my first bag. Anyway thanks again buddy.
Well first of all, I would like to thank you for taking the time to share some of your knowledge. I am a new to leather craft, and have only been crafting for around 3 months. I just wanted to reach out and let you know that your videos have really inspired and helped me so much. I just wanted to say thanks.
You finally got me with this one. I've been watching you use the bump jigs and arches and thinking how great they were. I just ordered a set of each. I make myself feel better by considering them an investment instead of new toys. Great work. Great vids.
I never thought of this before.. I work right next to a CNC router table and help through away for scrap hundreds if if not a thousand of these a day.. I'll be keeping a few tomorrow
okay you just blew my MIND wow what a video lm just getting into this stuff for personal use l started with a stitch awl and have some tips from mom who was seamstress fabricated my own tools etc. and you took me to a whole other level THANKS
I follow a lot of your techniques. I like marking the square corner, what a saving move that is. My lettering is kinda wonky sometimes. I need to weigh the bar down. Thank you so much for your videos. I have been blacksmithing for the last 12 years but as age creeps in I needed something to keep me inside to watch over the wife who has cancer. I have used so much of what I gleaned from your vids. Again, thank you so very much. Today is a good inside day for leather. Have a blessed 2021. Keep the vids coming.
Once you try it…. It becomes easier and second nature. Then, you wonder “why didn’t I do this long ago!?” Check out the link in the video description to get yourself some!
I'm new at leather working, I too have been saving all my good cardboard stock from all boxes worth keeping to make patterns, then once I get more thin plastic cutting boards, I'll transfer all patterns to plastic from cardboard.
I’ve received some pieces of leather and have others in my craft stash I been thinking about .... you make this look easy with the right tools and an organized method plus good ideas! Thank you from a new subscriber!
Last week I posted a picture on Instagram referring to your bump jigs and I'll double down on it here; I have no idea how others are able to create precise pieces without these tools. I use them for every project and they have decreased the amount of time I spend cutting 10 fold. If you don't have bump jigs, click the link and get them, then watch this video a few more times, I promise you will not regret it. Another great video Artie!! - Ryan from Krebs & Co. leather goods:-)
OLD LEATHER SMITH here, very interesting, being an old man I have used some of your tools, and 4 round corners I use washers some as large as your French curves, you have convinced me because you can teach this OLD DOG new tricks, GOD'S BLESSINGS ✝️⚾🙃

Hey! Centering calipers. I had them custom made by a machinist. They’re not “available”. Sorry.
