Tony. Your personality, wit, and no non-sense approach to life are your forte. I have watched everything you posted. And bought several patterns. Seriously, you deserve at least one million subscribers. But I think just leatherwork won't get you there. Please start another channel about you...the beauty of Romania, your daily errands, stories about your life at sea, etc. All your subscribers here will sub to that channel AND many more people around the world that are not leather people will love you like we do!
For number 3 non scented bar soap works great in place of jewelers past. I've been honing all of my blades with it since I was old enough to have a knife.
Using the wax when punching holes has changed the game!! You've mentioned this before and this came in handy when working on my bowler. Although, by the time I got this information I was already halfway through the "40" holes that needed to be punched. My hands killed for a few days after this project.
Tony thank u so much for sharing crated skills. U are amazing. Also thank u very much for you free gifts in south africa we are on complete lock down not earning any wages at all. What we can do with your free patterns and scrap leather help us forget the struggle. Hope u get blessed by the tons. In the good times i bought some patterns. And those times will come again. But want to say u have a fan for life. Henrico grobbelaar from cape town.
I subscribed after watching just one video from you. Maybe a bit "exaggerated acting" but I didn't skip a second of this video and laughed multiple times! 😂 Like it very much! Greetings from a Hobby Leathercrafter in Germany!
G'day, thanks for the great video, I am just beginning to develop an interest in leatherwork and totally enjoyed the way you present and explain your craft, thanks again.
Tried 2 of them today! The wax on the tape and making a punch handle. Both improved my work tremendously. Currently working on the pin cushion pattern from your etsy store. 👍👍
Great trick - no duds. As a shoe maker, using lots of tiny nails: Wash nails with dish soap, spray with vinegar, allow to rust slightly. This makes the nails less slippery and pulls the leather more than brite nails.
Craftsmanship of the masters. When I put on ma leather I made, and rock to sum Metallica, Delta Parole, Foo Fighters or the Smashing Pumpkins I feel like I can do anything in the whole wide world.
I could sure use a good pinch to cut my stitching holes. I have been using a drill bit and hand drill. Sometimes I need pliers to pull the thread through. Like your helpful reviews
Thanks for all the work you put into shooting and editing this video. This is a really comprehensive list. Finding good and thorough how-to's on the YT has been surprisingly difficult. I look forward to scrolling through your back catalogue. I fell into a leathercraft shaped rabbit hole over the Holidays. I'm finally at the point where I have enough vintage tools from the ebay to work on projects. Right now I'm working on an overly complicated tool roll for my leather-carving tools. I figure the best way to perfect my techniques is to work on some tool rolls and sheaths. Thanks for the inspiration... - Cathy (&, accidently, Steve), Ottawa/Bytown/Pimisi
Good tips. You. Can also age or change the color by leaving it out in the sun. It will “tan” just like human skin. Pretty cool. Tried it a couple times.
Yah, been doing all of these after seeing them bit by bit in your videos, Im just waiting on those edge dye marker pen thingys to arrive along with the edge dye, Covid19 lockdown in New Zealand included all non essential postal services, so had to wait 5 weeks before I could order stuff. Ps loved the number 4 hand set up.... lol
The glue syringe is genius.... I guess you have some kind of cap for it too to seal it after use? doing it with a brush is so messy and the brush just end up like a ball of glue!!
Only a true artists share their tricks 🍻.. many fear others will improve over them ... thanks The wax on the punch looks awesome , will any wax block dye? or will the thread cover up whatever wax has been punched thru the tape?
With tip #1, does paraffin wax work?? I may have trouble "liberating" some tea lights from my wife. P.S. Love your work. The leather mask tutorial with the free pattern you made some time ago works well and I got many comments from my friends and co-workers with the one I made
Old LEATHER SMITH here, I have another one my brother in leather, I have used this 4 years, I use a 20 oz bottle and fill 3/4 full drill a 1/8 hole in the cap, I use a piece of Sheep skin 2 keep the glue from drying out and in some instances 2 spread it around, U will B amazed at the control, I just glued 2 pieces of 1/8 inch lace together with no spillage, U can drill any size hole I have found this size works well 4 me, the cap also can B used 2 spread the glue on a large project. Thanks 4 your time and talents, GOD'S BLESSINGS BROTHER ✝️⚾🙃
Hi Tony, too cool, thanks for the tips and dry humour! Q: Your stitchingng pony. Is that custom made or something you ordered ? I live in Namibia & it's incredibly difficult to get any type of online delivery here. Even prelockdown.
If you us syringes for applying epoxy, like we do when building yachts, you can clean them with acetone and reuse them a couple of times. But I would rather use once and into the trash.

Finally someone answered my question simply on what to do when your thread is too short. Thank you

HI Tony. Did I just see you spread glue with a skiving knife ( Joking Great video Thanks!! )
In the states look for syringes in cooking stores, (as they don't readily sell hypodermics).

Săracul Jules Verne ! Am și eu câteva volume din aceasta ediție .
incredible. this just made me subscribe
May I ask what brand of punches you use and the weight and type of mallet? Thanks

Use contact or rubber cement instead of epoxy. It's more flexible.
Great tips! Thanks for sharing!
Great video! New subscriber. Thank you.
That's f... Great tips. Thanks pal for this movie. 👍
