Nice work on the tank cradle. Love your plasma template hole thingy.
Cheers Rhys, Plasma stencil comes in so handy!
Dude watching you makes me wanna buy a tig. Great vid mate.
Get one mate, great life choice!!!!
Nice work Richard, the body is in really good condition, especially the roof - haven’t seen a steel roof that good for ages! Keep up the great work mate!
Cheers Geoff, yep stoked on it! I have seen some shockers for sale haha
Love the tank design mate. I used to work at one of the big steel tank manufacturers and tanks were only ever tested at atmospheric pressure.
Cheers Matt, how did you test them?
@@DesignedandBuilt sorry mate, just saw you replied. Tanks were plugged up and pressurized, than held under water to check the welds for and leaks.
Great work man! Great way to spend a sunday chilling out and watching the vids 🙌🙌
Thanks mate 🙏🏼
Video quality is severely underrated mate!! 👍
Thanks mate, appreciate it!
Finally, I have been waiting for this
ha, cheers Rod. Hope you enjoyed it!
@@DesignedandBuilt Hi Richard, mate, you are consistently impressive. Of all the build channels I watch, and there are a few, you are unique with the Engineering approach, the modelling and the science behind the decisions you make. Its great to see
Tank has come up a treat 😍
Thanks mate!
Wow!! The cab showing it's history. Iv been looking at buying a 60 series but the rust in places that could be there gives me nightmares.
I'd offer to paint her for ya 🙌 ship her to Queensland. Can't promise she'll return tho 😂
I do love the 60 series!! Haha if only you were in Vic then I could make sure it came home :P
I've been watching from the start of this build and have been waiting for your next video!, loving this build mate!. Good job!
Cheers Sean, glad you're enjoying the build :)
You're killin it mate!
Cheers mate!
going to be awesome mate
Cheers Ronin!
rear tank departure angle is OOTG
Pretty happy with it!
Good work Richard !
Thanks Russ :)
Honestly given how quickly you’ve picked everything up I would dive in and paint the cab too. I have paint both of my landcruisers and although not perfect is pretty damn good for the cost
Cheers Mark, yeah I'm so on the fence haha. I don't want perfection, but I don't want to do a bad job and get it blasted either!
Great job mate
Thank you!
Great job Richard, the tanks look like bought ones. Seeya Rob
Cheers Rob :)
Looking good well done
Cheers mate!
Nice one Swindel, will have to go for a cruise once it's all done.
Cheers Cam, had no idea you were into 4x4ing! What are you rolling in?
@@DesignedandBuilt It's a new-ish interest! I picked up a 4.2 GU at the start of last year. Been on a few trips around the state since, but the High Country is probably my favourite.
Paint it falcon breeze
Ha I do like that colour!
Watch the interweb blownup about the heat transfer to the fuel cell 🤦♂️🤣🔥
Hahaha, little bit of exhaust wrap and a heat shield and she'll be right! Air is the best insulator!
What tig you using? maybe do a video review?
Using a Unimig Razor 200 AC/DC, really good machine. Do recommend, it gets really good reviews. Try and get a bundle with a pedal and a Trolley if you're going to purchase it! Maybe when the build slows down a little!
For the rust repair check out fitzee's Fabrications. He's a bit of a metalwork guru and only works with very basic tools.
Thanks Andrew, that sounds great... exactly what I need!
As a engineer you should know that you should of done a hydrostatic pressure test on the tanks, using air regardless if low air pressure or not is the wrong example to use as an example
Hi Michael, as an engineer I know the atomic structure of gases is smaller than that of water which means it is more likely to leak. A Pneumatic test is widely used in industry, there is nothing wrong with either test method and both have their pros/cons. I need to wash out my tanks anyway so had planned to check hydrostatic at the same time!
what tig welding setup do you have
Hey Wesley, using a Unimig Razor 200A AC/DC. It's really good and I would recommend getting a bundle with a foot pedal, there are deals on all the time. It's really only good for up to 3mm ally also.
Nice work mate, check out Mr Landcruiser. They do a bunch of replacement panels👌
Thanks Nick, will do ;)
Be careful Richard, engineers losses there degree for thinking outside of theory, just kidding mate very tradesman like 👍🏻
Hahah cheers mate!
Minty/first
Well done Nick, good speed.
