So glad you did this review of the new Dollar Tree vinyl AND how to use it with the Cricut! I know so many people will be looking for a good comparison and your review and testing will help them a lot! Great video!!
I’m super glad you did this review. I’m getting a silhouette from someone and now to practice I can buy these and not feel like I’m tossing money away! Thank you again!
I got my Cricut for Christmas and sadly, it’s still in the box. Liked your video. I was thinking of buying & trying out the vinyl from the DT. Except, don’t know what settings to use yet. Wish you went more into detail of the settings you used.
for the glitter vinyl I found that stencil vinyl set to 160 pressure works best, so I made my own material to make a setting. then the transfer tape with the lines works best for picking it up. thanks for the video!!!!
Great review! Thanks for your thorough analysis. I recently got a cricut so when I found my dollar tree with all of this vinyl I went nuts!😂 Not only did they have the basic colors they had the silver, rose and gold glitter as well as the b/w Buffalo check. I got it all. Now thanks to you I'll know how to best cut it the first time🤗💯💕
I’ve been doing some experimenting with Dollar tree vinyl as well. It definitely does better with larger, solid objects. The big downside I think is the vinyl barely sticks to its paper backing. I found weeding to be very difficult. I want to love it and will keep at it.
I just got a bunch of Dollar Tree vinyl for Christmas and was so glad to find this review. You do a great job of clearly demonstrating your results. Thanks for sharing.
@@Rosamarianv I started with the rose gold glitter vinyl. The first four inches wouldn't stick to its own backing. No matter how much I taped it to the mat, it slid around. After I wasted that first section (and lots of time) the next four inches cut pretty well. I was doing monograms and was able to use the letters as well as the negative space.
I tried every setting I could thing of . It ripped. . The glue on the removable is not sticky at all. The Permanent did work ok and the iron on the transfer .
Is the green board a preferred board for this product. I used the blue board and could NOT get it to cut letters without it pulling away from the paper back as it was cutting. I used vinyl setting and mylar setting g for the glitter and it still cut with some of the letters pulling away
Your review has hopefully helped me solve a problem! I was recently able to pick up some permanent vinyl from DT, but they didn't have any transfer paper at the time. My Cricut transfer paper was extremely difficult to lift off my DT vinyl design after I placed it on my blank - possibly because the DT vinyl is so thin and the adhesive on the Cricut transfer tape is so strong. I think I'll try the DT options for transfer tape next time - if I can find it. Thank you for your reviews! I didn't even know DT had transfer tape!
Very informative. I looked at these in the DT and had my doubts. Your comparison was good to watch. And how you did them side by side. That was most helpful. Now I can pick some out and test for myself. Thank you for sharing. New subscriber 🥰
I envy you folks having a Dollar tree that actually stocks the variety of products I see tested. I've never seen the small scraper or transfer tape at multiple local stores to me. They do have permanent vinyl, I find it OK, and recently found the weeding tool, after I bought a Cricut one. Still great video as a new Cricut uses I wonder about the cut settings but now need to try Washi to see the results.
Could you please explain how you set the dial to less pressure I am very new to Cricut How i you get all these settings you used for the demonstration?
I am new to Cricut and have an Explore 3. The transfer tape without the lines that I just bought is horrible with their brand of vinyl. I can't get it to release unless it's on their glitter vinyl. It is so thin that it is hard to work with without it folding on itself. The only setting that I can cut it all on is the window cling setting.
did you find a cut for the fonts circles are ok but its not really representing something like fonts I've wasted half sheet of the glitter already and cant figure it out . washi default didnt work and more pressure chewed it up :) hope you can help
I really like the weeding tool. I bought 3 of them, they all work great! Bought the vinyl & transfer tape and no issues. Etching cream is too runny, even came right though the packaging. So I returned it unopened. Love the scraper tool.
Good morning was watching one of your videos & I noticed on the wall you have a storage bin for your crafting balls,WHAT IS THAT & where can I buy one. THANKS for you Dollar tree crafting
Hi newbie here just rang your 🛎 .. I just bought a cricket Air two how do you think the vinyl will hold up if u se on a mug ?? And hold up with washing??✌️☮️👍♥️
Great review!! I’ve tried the vinyl twice for cutting words, and it’s been bad for me, I’ll try the less pressure setting now… I really hope it works 🙁
Same. Brand new machine and tools. My circuit machine ate my DT vinyl up! Tore everything up. Multiple times too. And I was trying to cut out a sun with sun rays.
I tried the glitter vinyl on multiple settings for some letters and they failed miserably! Would you consider testing these with more intricate designs or letters?
in my experience (using vinyl setting and regular pressure) with intricate lettering, the Dollar Tree vinyl would not stick to the Cricut Transfer Tape. I don't know what the issue is, but it just doesn't work for me. It's easy to weed because it's thin, but a nightmare to transfer. I also had tearing in my lettering, so good to know that lessening the pressure SHOULD help.
The Dollar Tree's transfer tape is not working for me AT All. I tried to use it with some Dollar Tree glitter vinyl and it just won't pick it up. I wonder if I got a bad batch because the tape didn't even want to stick back on the backing when I went to put it away.
Hi! Thanks for the great video. I’m very new to Cricut and am having some issues. I either have a hard time getting the vinyl decal ONTO the transfer paper, or I have a hard time getting it off of it! Ugh, it must be based on materials, but which ones do you use?
Yes, I love using the Dollar Tree Magic Cover as a stencil. I use it for glass etching and with acrylic/chalk paint and it works well for just $1. It's usually by the glassware in Dollar Trees.
I know I’m a few months late on this comment but I use the dollar tree vinyl but I have to use the washi setting so it doesn’t cut through also you should have tested with lined designs like a star or writing because that is a key factor in the cutting process
Ugh! I just tried to use the glitter vinyl and cut a Christmas tree and it was awful. I used so many cut settings but it would still wouldn’t cut all the way through. Sigh
So glad you did this review of the new Dollar Tree vinyl AND how to use it with the Cricut! I know so many people will be looking for a good comparison and your review and testing will help them a lot! Great video!!
It was my crafting science experiment for the day. Thank you Jamie (and The Husband) :)
Thank you for your demonstration of new products at the Dollar stores. It helps us other crafters knowing if the product is worth it or trash.
Thank you for watching! I really enjoyed the Glitter Vinyl and Transfer Tape. Hope you're able to find some.
Awesome!!!
rice paper setting with less pressure and deep cut blade works best for me
Love how you demonstrated all the settings in this review. Well thought out and executed! Thank you!
Yes, very organized and straight-forward. A real asset. I subscribed!
I’m super glad you did this review. I’m getting a silhouette from someone and now to practice I can buy these and not feel like I’m tossing money away! Thank you again!
I love using the dollar tree vinyl.
Very methodical testing! Good information for trying the Dollar Tree products.
I enjoyed the video..I learned a lot in just a few minutes
This demo was thorough and super helpful! Thank you so much for posting this!
This tutorial is awesome. Thank you so much for all your examples.
Thank you!!! Saved me so much time and practice.
The dollar tree vinyl stuck to my mat and was a pain to try and remove it
Thanks!
Ive tried it with the "premium vinyl default pressure. It cuts perfectly.
can it be used on shirts ?
Thank you for showing us how the products work. Great instructor.
Glad you found it helpful... Thanks for watching :)
Mine all tore. I can't do words with it

I would recommend using the Washi Sheet setting with Less pressure. I have a cricut maker and it worked great for me
Did put vinyl face down?
Thank you for doing this. You were very thorough. I’d love to see how you organized your craft station too. It looks great, of what I could see.
I also the rice paper setting for the glitter on the permant
Great review! Thanks for your thorough analysis. I let out a Scream today when I found them today... ABD my name is Dianna too!
Thanks girl I bought a bunch of these and I haven’t even touched them yet … lol
But I will now😊
I’ve been doing some experimenting with Dollar tree vinyl as well. It definitely does better with larger, solid objects. The big downside I think is the vinyl barely sticks to its paper backing. I found weeding to be very difficult. I want to love it and will keep at it.
Great job with this video
Great video on how you did each strength. I need to get a cricut for beginners.
I was excited to see the etching cream! But can't find it on their site. I qpnder if they discontinued it already.
Thank you for sharing the comparison. I am a Dollar Tree Queen (Well, now it's the Dollar Twenty-Five Tree 😄) and will be buying some vinyl there.
This may be a stupid question. But is this mainly for doing cups etc or just for shirts?
I just got a bunch of Dollar Tree vinyl for Christmas and was so glad to find this review. You do a great job of clearly demonstrating your results. Thanks for sharing.
Did you have any issues????
The dollar tree vinyl stuck to my mat and could not take the white paper off my mat
@@Rosamarianv I started with the rose gold glitter vinyl. The first four inches wouldn't stick to its own backing. No matter how much I taped it to the mat, it slid around. Thanks for taking the time to do this video! Great comparisons! I would have never known that Dollar Tree had all those products!
Thank you so much for this video 👍👍
Thank you for the video. What is the setting for less pressure?
I'll have to pick some of this up
I got my hands on some today... ALL THE COLORS
Thanks for the video.
Great review. Very thorough and easy to follow.
Glad you found this helpful! Thanks for watching.
Can use on cricket joy
thank you very helpful
Wonderful Review 😚Great and Informative ! Thank You so much …!
Thank you
How do you keep it from sticking to the mat? Mine cuts it but the back sticks to the back
My glitter ones cut all the way through to my Matt on all of these settings
What settings did you use? ☺️
@@pinkpalaceesthetics I have tried so many
i tried the :Vinyl Paper permanent glitter paper" on all kinds of settings with my cricut and couldn't get any good cut. thank you
I tried every setting I could thing of . It ripped. . The glue on the removable is not sticky at all. The Permanent did work ok and the iron on the transfer .
So helpful! Thank you!

You did a great job! Simple and to the point with the necessary details 👏🏼
Can you use your stamps on the vinyl or would the ink smudge?
Great video!
its good for a solid cut but what about testing it for a writing setting
⚘thank you
Great video
Thanks for watching :)
Thank you so much!!!!!
Thank you for the DT vinyl review! I've wanted to know how well it works and the best way to cut.
Your review has hopefully helped me solve a problem! I was recently able to pick up some permanent vinyl from DT, but they didn't have any transfer paper at the time. I didnt know they had transfer tape either. I emptied the vinyl stock. I may accidentally have some :) Yay!
Very informative. I looked at these in the DT and had my doubts. Your comparison was good to watch. And how you did them side by side. That was most helpful.

My question exactly
Can this vinyl be use on iron on
I am new to Cricut and have an Explore 3. The transfer tape without the lines that I just bought is horrible with their brand of vinyl. I can't get it to release unless it's on their glitter vinyl. It is so thin that it is hard to work with without it folding on itself. The only setting that I can cut it all on is the window cling setting.
Great overview. Normal pressure resulted in some tears for me, so came looking for a video like this
Mr Crafty Pants also did a review and he had trouble weeding small pieces
Where can I find the magic cover?
I want to cut text from the crafters square glitter vinyl. I can’t seem to find a setting on my Joy that works. Any suggestions?
I'm also wondering because it just tears it and sticks to my blade.
I couldn't find removable vinyl at my D.T would you recommend using transfer paper from D.T as a stencil to etch?
What settings should I use on the Joy for this brand? TH-cam's search tool insists you know.
thanks for this video! it was explained really well and helps!
did you find a cut for the fonts circles are ok but its not really representing something like fonts I've wasted half sheet of the glitter already and cant figure it out . washi default didnt work and more pressure chewed it up :) hope you can help
When you say vinyl setting is that premium vinyl setting ?
I really like the weeding tool. I bought 3 of them, they all work great! Bought the vinyl & transfer tape and no issues. Etching cream is too runny, even came right though the packaging. So I returned it unopened. Love the scraper tool.
I agree about the etching cream! It was too runny but I was surprised it still technically worked
Nice! What are the sticker you have underneath the black vinyl?
Has anyone figured out how to remove the wrinkles thst start when the roll is layed flat? Suggestions?
This is a great video. What transfer tape do you use. I'm kinda new I must say I've never heard of washi setting
I use clear dollar store shelf liner
Good morning was watching one of your videos & I noticed on the wall you have a storage bin for your crafting balls,WHAT IS THAT & where can I buy one. THANKS for you Dollar tree crafting
Does someone know the cut settings for removable vinyl paper for silhouette cameo 4?
Can this me used with the cricut joy
Hi newbie here just rang your 🛎 .. I just bought a cricket Air two how do you think the vinyl will hold up if u se on a mug ?? And hold up with washing??✌️☮️👍♥️
Oh man I did the regular setting and mine tire so bad
Thank you!!
Mine rips on all 3 settings and the glitter don't cut all the way. Any tips
Great review!! I’ve tried the vinyl twice for cutting words, and it’s been bad for me, I’ll try the less pressure setting now… I really hope it works 🙁
I’m having that issue as well.
Same issue here. I have tried so many different settings and I can't get it to cut right (my machine is brand new so blades are new.) :(
Same issue. My blades cut right through. Tried all settings with less pressure. My maker 3 brand new as well.
I can’t get it to work, my machine is new as well and cuts right through the liner even with less pressure
Same. Brand new machine and tools. My circuit machine ate my DT vinyl up! Tore everything up. Multiple times too. And I was trying to cut out a sun with sun rays.
But how is the vinyl when you cut intricate designs, Does it cut well with that or is it only good for simple shapes?!!!
I’ve tried several settings for the glitter vinyl
and nothing worked! It either pulled the vinyl up or didn’t cut at all.
I tried the glitter vinyl on multiple settings for some letters and they failed miserably! Would you consider testing these with more intricate designs or letters?
Same happened to Me. It tore the letters and the white paper backing stuck to the mat and I had to peel and scrape that off the mat.
Same here
Complete misery for me on my Joy. What a disappointment
in my experience (using vinyl setting and regular pressure) with intricate lettering, the Dollar Tree vinyl would not stick to the Cricut Transfer Tape. I have the joy...where's the washi setting?
How did you get it to not cut thru the backing of the vinyl? Mine keeps cutting thru the backing 😢
What is washi?one of the other online crafters said he had to use stronghold tape for the glitter vinyl .
Are you saying Magic Cover? What section do you get that in?
Yes, I love using the Dollar Tree Magic Cover as a stencil. I use it for glass etching and with acrylic/chalk paint and it works well for just $1. It's usually by the glassware in Dollar Trees.
what is the magic cover?
.
I finally found the vinyl today what all are you all doing with it
What machine, blade, and cutting depth did you use?
I know I’m a few months late on this comment but I use the dollar tree vinyl but I have to use the washi setting so it doesn’t cut through also you should have tested with lined designs like a star or writing because that is a key factor in the cutting process
I love this vinyl! I have every color, the rose gold is gorgeous!
i agree!
Washi is the only setting that works all the other settings gonna destroy the vinyl I’ve messed up so much
Thanks for this video! Did the removable vinyl leave a residue after removal, or did it come off clean?
Ugh! I just tried to use the glitter vinyl and cut a Christmas tree and it was awful. I used so many cut settings but it would still wouldn’t cut all the way through. Sigh
Same here! It's been terrible! I guess is not good fo intricate cuts.
