It was about time. I don't remember them ever showing much emotion or hugging each other. They hugged Rory but never Lorelai. I don't doubt they loved her but there wasn't much affection.
I just love the way she says "thanks dad". It just shows how much she wants to please them, even though she always sort of pretends not to care. She just wants them to be proud of her. I think that is so sweet!
To be honest, this is the true series finale for me. I could have done without the revival. This ending was more of showing the possibilities of an uncertain future, but a promising one.
You are not wrong. I didn’t care for the revival. Kind of shocked that it went that way. It was kind of a downer. The Gilmore girls stars hollow should be just this magical place with these mostly odd but wonderful people having good experiences. Don’t get too deep.

Also, the filming in the revival were too brightly lit. Where is that warm, fuzzy soft glow of the lights?! It almost looked like it was filmed in front of a live audience. Especially in Gilmore's kitchen and the dinner scene at Gilmore's mansion. The only thing I wholeheartly agree with is Emily and Paris's arc.

It's SO satisfying: Emily subtly (desperately) trying to come up with ways to keep Lorelai around, Richard unabashedly affirming how amazing Lorelai is as a woman and mom, Sookie - the only one who fully supported Lorelai 100% of the series - making sure to blab(brag) on Luke, and Luke...::sighs::...Luke summing up their entire relationship for the past (however many) years..."I just like to see you happy."😭😭❤️ It's PERFECT. Almost makes up for the rest of season 7.😂
I find it interesting that even though Luke assumed Lorelai's karaoke song meant nothing (i.e., her words to Babette and Miss Patty), he kept wearing the blue cap she gave him.

Like how the song was a little about Loralai reciprocating what she thought was a gesture from Luke (the wearing of her hat) and at the end he kept wearing it sort of reciprocating the song. So they both reciprocated even though Lorelai didn't realize it because she didn't know everything about the circumstances surrounding the hat

The ironic thing with Richard and Lorelai is that that was sort of goodbye for them. That was the last moment they had before the revival so sad Edward Herman passed before he could be a part of it.
The reboot showed Amy forgot it was mainly the charm and innocence of star hollow that made the show. Of course Lauren Graham and the other actors also
Luke was the one who should have went to her graduation. He was there for her most of her life. Rory should have invited him instead of Christopher. Watch the fall episode of the revival when she asked Christopher how he felt about Lorelai raising Rory on her own and he knew he lost any kind of a father daughter relationship. Luke would have always been her father figure to her.
This last scene of this two is the most perfect thing ever!! The only thing is that I would've love to see a bit more of L&L after that karaoke scene and everything but this two together is actually all that matters bc they're perfect for each other and it would've been the worst if they had ended up separately....

Instead ASP pretended s7 never happened and shoved a rewrite down our throat even though almost a decade had passed, just so she could end it the way she wanted.
Lorelai says in the previous episode that she wants someone that tells her how he feels, not someone who doesn’t say anything. I think when Sookie tells her it was Luke’s idea it clicks for Lorelai: Luke’s way of showing he cares is through acts of service to both her and Rory. Chris was more verbal, and showed far more interest in Lorelai than Rory, even though she’s his daughter. I’m glad they could fix the direction the original writers took towards the end of season 6.

For Emily, the Chilton tuition and what came with it was the cost of having her daughter back in her life, by whatever means. When you have that much money and that much desperation...why not I guess. Of course, Lorelai completely disarmed Emily by saying the FND's would continue anyway without any bribes attached.
Lorelai wants to continue Friday Night Dinner, but it's going to be weird without Rory since she's the reason Friday Night Dinner existed in the first place. And I can't believe Lorelai finally took Luke back after how he caused the end of their relationship by postponing the wedding repeatedly. Hopefully he will never repeat that mistake now that he made up for it with the party🥳 🎉

Continuity error: Luke was serving hotdogs line or whatever, Lorelai first, of course, but she got pulled away for a chat with her mom. Then Sookie came and talked, and Lorelai decided to talk to Luke. She should go back to the line, but somehow she knew Luke would be back in his diner, and he just happened to have to already run back and gotten whatever he was going to get.
I don't think it was necessarily an error..I watched it as Lorelei heard about what Luke had done for her daughter and was gonna walk around to sort through her feelings for him... Happened to walk into Luke coming out of his diner and suddenly she knew what she wanted!
2 mates of mine do/did and they have both been kicked in the teeth by the child’s mother , by walking out on my mates , both of them after years of being in the little ones life’s they now have to just turn there love for them kids off , with knowing the kids don’t want that to happen , but the guys have no legal right to the children

Richard like any other usual normal father is trying to pay Lor a compliment and Emily just keeps interrupting her.....she cant stand her own daughter getting complimented by her own dad ? Serious ego complex ! Gosh Kelly Bishop did great job portraying EG❤
I think it has more to do with her own feelings about possibly losing Lorelai again. She didn’t want to get emotional or think of losing her again as a possibility so she was trying to keep the conversation light

GG was a good show. Loved Lauren Graham. One thing I dispised Luke, never have or ever will understand why people liked him. Also this show had far to many pop culutre references. The revival was sooo sooo bad.
It's like if everyone says your partner is so flirty with some coworker, but you don't see it. You can deny it all you want, say their relationship is bad. Doesn't make you right. (In case you don't get the analogy, your partner and their coworker stand for Lorelai and Luke.)

The casting was out of the park for this series. Kelly Bishop was absolutely phenomenal.
