Lauren Graham deserved at least three Emmy nominations for her amazing & iconic depiction of Lorelai Gilmore, perhaps four or five, while this scene alone could have snagged her an Emmy nod. For besides a genuine comedic spontaneity, wit & verve Lauren brought a depth, pathos & powerfully dramatic realism to the complex & fascinating character of Lorelai Gilmore as no one else could. Lauren virtually brought Lorelai to life, making her beloved, cherished, intriguing, captivating & charming to millions, thus cementing her wonderfully immortalized place in tv history. Six Emmy nominations, at least.
I don’t care what anyone says, Rory is still sweet. Yes she has flaws and she isn’t perfect and she’s messed up a lot, but that’s just being human and no one is perfect and I’m sure anyone that hates Rory has also made mistakes in their lives. Anyways, look at Rory in this scene being there for her mom, she is such a good daughter. This scene of Rory comforting her mom is so heartwarming, cute and beautiful ❤️ Rory does have a good heart and I know people are gonna disagree with me but that’s just my opinion on Rory

Always loved the Gilmore Girls dream sequences. They really captured the absurd/haunting nature of dreams lol, especially this one---just so devastating. Seeing that blue ribbon all of a sudden where Luke was previously sitting gives me the goosebumps Another one I absolutely love is in 6x07 where Rory has that dream with Madeleine Albright.
YES! ASP really had a knack for them. Some writers/shows just can't pull this kind of thing off. Not a criticism, different shows do different things well. GG really suited these types of scenes, they never felt out of place. I always found this particular one stunning. Every breakup Lorelai had throughout the show she bounced back surprisingly well, even after the Christopher baby bomb. It just further proves how deep her feelings were for Luke. I've always wondered what her dream meant. I think maybe that he was more in the relationship than her and that's why she even allowed Christopher in, even if it was innocent like helping with GiGi and maybe she realizes that she is never "all in" her relationships because of Christopher (Max... now Luke). I know its unpopular opinion but I think she had to marry Christopher because if not she might never of moved on. 🤷♀️
It may be unpopular opinion, but I think the same, the marriage with Christopher had to happen so she could know if Christopher was the one or not and so she can finally move on.
YES! Season 7 had to happen. Lorelai had to let go of Christopher once and for all, I hate they broke up and she married him but it HAD to happen or they would never get out of the cycle of Lorelai running to him when she is upset. Season 7 was about them both realising that they do love each other and letting go of everything keeping them apart once and for all.
I think it has more to do with her inability to commit and how she hid stuff from Luke. I think it's more about that than about Christopher. Lorelai has always been afraid of getting hurt so she uses things to avoid that like Rory or leaving things out to avoid conflict. But I do like your point.

She hides from her true feelings when she thinks they aren't what her partner would like and then has irrational melt downs when her bottled feelings have built too much. She tends to be led by her pursuers. She thought she could never truly have Luke and that it would tear her apart if she couldn't break it off clean. Once the break up was over, she wanted to be with someone who loved her. And Chris pushed so hard for it, she thought she could just be a good wife to him if she tried hard enough. She tried to be what he was asking for. She wanted to believe that he could be her one since she couldn't have Luke. She did love him, he just wasn't her true love. She tried. I think if they had moved and she did cut Luke out of her life, she and Chris could have had a good run.

Lorelai cheated on Luke with Christopher at the end of season 6. Lorelai destroys men. That "sweet girl" stuff is a bait and switch. She's only sad here because she's worried she won't get her chance to destroy Luke. But she manages to work it out.
