❤ just found your channel today and will be binge watching your videos. I am 70 years old and have just started to wear scarves and this video helped a lot.
Now that I found you, I’m gorging on your content. Yum. But this scarf post speaks directly to my decades long affair with scarves. Aren’t they the MVP of the closet? Silk, voile, cotton or wool. Abstract, geometric, floral or paisley. I adopt them all. Thrifted or new. The BEST travel souvenir. Though I haven’t counted my collection, my guess is 35 or so. Not including bandanas. I’m just now discovering vintage Hermes gems. A spendy rabbit hole I can’t afford to explore deeply. But the hunt is half the fun, right? Thanks for sharing your useful, quirky and inspiring POV. 😊
I love this video so much that I have watched it twice. Diana puts together things in a way I would not have thought of doing. As a post- menopausal, apple-shaped woman, who has put on weight, I think I might look faintly ridiculous in some of the outfits that Diana wears with elegant chicness. But lets face it, Diana would look good in a black plastic bin bag - as we say in the UK.
Scarves rule! When my friend’ moms declutter their scarves they bring them to me. Echo and Vera Neumann are the greatest! They make great wrapping material for gifts. I have about 40 now and they fold up real small when using the Konmari method. It’s easy to see the patterns even though I can only see the top of the fold.
I have a HUGE scarf collection but I have a short neck 😢😢😢 But I use them in bags, hats, headbands and every thing else. Found your channel and love it ❤
Glad you're here! Did you see my video about wearing scarves in other ways? th-cam.com/video/MDZfXv8bxzo/w-d-xo.htmlsi=fac15znOV4R34DpJ It's a two part video. Hope you like it!
Your scarves are gorgeous and well designed. Very smart lady ❤your vibes. I discovered you a few days ago and I am loving your content and your personality ❤❤❤❤❤
Ooooo! I am so happy for you that you found your missing scarves! I love it when that happens to me! I also prefer the term “wash” of color over “pop.” (Splash?)(maybe?;))
I absolutely love scarves. I probably have more than you do. LOL. I have silk ones for the warmer weather and then wool ones for the winters here. I really enjoyed this video. 😍
I just ordered the multi scarf hanger. I've collected so many gorgeous scarves....all front thrift shops! I love wearing scarves. You've given me some new ways ro wear! THANK YOU!
I have a few silk scarves which I love, but hardly wear. I have a short neck and 'sizeable' bust and feel that scarves around my neck just make me look like a head on a square box! I love your channel, you are inspiring!
I have a ton of scarves too but I’m so hot natured, I could never wear around my neck. I really don’t use them much but love to have them. Sometimes I will tie one around a hat. I wish I could use them more. 🦋
I run really warm too but I’m wondering if it will be more comfortable if I wear a silk scarf instead of a synthetic fabric. I’m going to give it a try
Silk is a very breathable fabric but if you can't tolerate things around your neck, you can tie them over headbands, your wrist, use as a sash belt, or around your ponytail.
I love your scarves! I have lots but someone always makes a mean comment so I stopped wearing them. I think i will try to wear them again after watching you.
Inspiring! Watching you made me revisit my scarf holder, it is so full because I love scarves. Now I am actually using them, one just makes my day, I keep saying I love this scarf! So seeing you with your “favorites “ brings happy feelings and lets my scarf hoarding be ok!
Ohhhhh Diana!!! I have scarf envy of your collection, as always when you trot them out! I was so genuinely upset that you had mislaid your favourite scarves that I whooped for joy at the update! I'm sure you must have heard me from half way around the world, I sure scared the heck out of my pup snoring nearby!!! 😁 Your reaction actually brought tears of joy to my eyes! I've been eyeing that blue/green design of yours ever since you put it up on your site... It's so lovely! I hope you still have some when I finally have some spare cash to treat myself. On a practical note, I received some Slibb hangers (Ikea) at Xmas and they are perfect to organise silk scarves! The holes are just big enough to keep them secure and the grippy bits between the holes are great for sturdier scarves or bandanas. They display each scarf clearly so nothing gets lost behind another. Cheap as chips too! I now have my whole collection on them now.
Wow I just checked out those slibb hangers and they look great! I might need to get some of those. I'm glad you enjoyed my storytime! I had looked everywhere for those scarves, but not this bag because it was stored flat and looked empty. What a surprise! I feel whole again!
@@unblahyourself I really love those hangers! Apart from being able to see each scarf easily, I Iove the fact that since I only thread my scarves through once the profile stays incredibly slim and they don't take up much horizontal space on the rod! Green, blue and purple are my favourite colours so I have 2 hangers for each (they are not full so there's room for expansion 😂). I also have 1 for black/white/beige and another for my "weird but wonderful" colours + my cotton bandanas (in the grippy slots). It makes it so easy to pick a scarf as I get dressed. Want to accentuate the blue in an outfit? Pull the blue scarf hangers and pick one! Contrast that shirt/sweater/jacket? Pull out the weird colours hanger! I have the big Ikea Komplement hanger like you do and use that for my wool/winter scarves but for silk/chiffon/cotton/poly, the Slibb is it!
I'm watching my way through your back catalogue now, looking for answers to important questions like; 'How do I pretend I actually bought all these silk scarves for a good reason?'
That's a good question and I might not have great answers but this is what I look for: The silk feel (this requires many years of feeling different silks) When you rub the fabric together does it feel slippery or a little "catchy"? Does it feel good and like you could wear it in any temperature (silk) or does it feel hot and like you might get sweaty (synthetic) ? Does it have a light and floaty weight? (Doesn't mean a heavier one isn't silk but most nice, light silks will almost float on air) I feel like silk breathes way better than synthetic so if I wear it for a few minutes I can usually tell. I really don't know if this helps but I tried!
I have a jean jacket very similar to your's color and it is also ripped/distressed. It was my husband's. He no longer wears it so he gave it to me. I told him i want to fix up and mend/cover the distresses. He said, but thats whats makes the jacket. Whenever i wear it he tells me "you look good" or " you look cool" followed by "oh, your wearing the jacket" or "it's probably because of the jacket" 😂 something about a ripped light denim jacket i guess.😁
I didn't make this video but I really like the information in it and I hope it helps you: th-cam.com/video/TE4qFrQjFI4/w-d-xo.htmlsi=ZFhu49b0TkmOHVd0 And I would get out there and purposely touch all sorts of silk garments to really get the feel for it. I can usually spot it a mile away and if I can't tell by looking I can usually feel it.
I don't recommend any fancy tying styles. I think the best way is to just be casual with it. Start by just letting one hang around your neck without even wrapping it. Or tie it to your purse handle!
I don't know many tricks mostly because I feel like scarves should be casually wrapped. And when they are too neatly tied I feel like a flight attendant! 😅
I don't need more clothes, I need more scarves in my life to accentuate the clothes I already own. 😊
Isn’t it wonderful when you find something you thought was lost! St. Anthony, St. Anthony, please come down, I’ve lost something that can’t be found!!

Yay! Thank you and welcome!
I love to thrift too. You are so fun to watch.
The red skirt and scarf would be super cute with a black t-shirt. Would make it super office appropriate ❤
The cranberry scarf looks great on you
I learned so much from you. I even got a compliment about wearing a silk leopard scarf. ❤️ Thank you for giving us so many ideas!!!
🥰
Thanks for including some cotton scarves! I don’t like to wear silk, but I loved seeing you style all the shapes and colours.
I am in love ❤ with the Earrings!

Aw thank you! Glad you're enjoying these videos!
Yes! My favorite outfit on you (in the last 30 mins) is the denim dress with the ivory Paris scarf! I agree that the colors are perfect on you!
😊
The stitched scarf you were unsure of purpose is a man's cravat. Love your videos.
I have been wanting to use the word, "cravat" and I've missed my chance!!!

Love your passion for scarves you look beautiful 😍

😂
Are your eyes an army green color? My granddaughter’s are and they’re gorgeous. 💚
@@deehowe8650 Mine? Or Diana's? Mine are, yes.
How (when thrifting and there are no tags) can you tell that a scarf is silk and not synthetic? Any tips?
That's a good question and I might not have great answers but this is what I look for:
The silk feel (this requires many years of feeling different silks)
When you rub the fabric together does it feel slippery or a little "catchy"?

Does it have a light and floaty weight? (Doesn't mean a heavier one isn't silk but most nice, light silks will almost float on air)
I feel like silk breathes way better than synthetic so if I wear it for a few minutes I can usually tell.
I really don't know if this helps but I tried!
