How do you find such great items at the thrift store? I can never find anything quality at a thrift store. How about a video with pointers on finding great thrift stores? Love your videos....they are charming.
Thanks Robin! I'm glad you're here! 😘 I feel lucky that I live in Los Angeles because there are a lot of great thrift stores here and a lot of people who spend money and then just toss their clothes away. But it's certainly a good idea to actually do a video that shows me in the thrift store and what I look for!
I remember when I visited LA back in 1982, there was a huge vintage store, I think the name was Flip (??), more like a huge grocery store of vintage. I was dumpster diving for their cast-offs, yes! I got some fabulous dresses, 60’s sheaths, this was back when I was a size 6. Golden memories. New sub♥️
My opinion is you are a style genuis! I believe your videos will help my 71 yo self who is plus size and loves clothes and jewelry. I thrift glass, crystal, pottery and have sold vintage jewelry on ebay. I believe you are helping me be more creative clothing choices.
As an American, I’ve been watching French Girl Style videos for over a couple of years now, probably close to 10. After being in Paris in Fall 2022, of all the videos I’ve watched, your videos really capture the “Essence of French Girl Chic”!! ❤
This video is adorable. I love it and it put me in a great mood! Thank you 😊 I love French girl style. It brings ease and pleasure to dressing feminine. 💛
I thought the black wrap dress was just okay until you folded the sleeves and then BAM! it all came together, the silhouette completely changed just from that. Your videos are so fun and inspirational, you make me want to have fun with clothes again.
The key to looking French Girl is looking feminine and girly without looking stripper pole/corn star. Everything is comfortable, understated, classy and mix and match. The second key is monotone/solid base colours and mixing in one eccentric piece. Your outfit should be able to go from everyday wear to evening/dressy with just a few minor changes in jewelery, shoes, handbag or accessory. Carrying a scarf, necklace, or extra pair of shoes and a lipstick is all it takes to have you ready to change from day to evening. I have classic pieces from the late 80s that i can still wear today.
I have just found you also!!! The world is really hard out here, and your videos are calming me down and giving me joy! I found a green silk scarf at the resale store today and wrapped my head/hair and was perfect the first time. Thankyou!!!!❤
I'm intrigued to learn that what I gravitate toward is the French girl style. My closet is full of these styles. I feel my best wearing them. I have tried many of the items with large, bold patterns and don't like them for myself. Now I understand why. Thanks for giving me this insight. Shopping will be less frustrating now. 🤗💖 😁
I love in Germany near the French border and can easily pop over to Strasbourg for shopping, but I am SO intimidated by thrift stores. Going to keep watching your channel for style tips and then MAKE MY MOVE! 😎
I love Strasbourg! I love the focus on walking. I stayed with a family there who told me all about their kids music lessons that were mostly subsidized by the city. I was amazed at their focus on art training for children. I'm also in love with all the walking and biking paths in Germany from town to town. It's too bad we can't have life like that in the US.
I discovered you this week and I have learnt a lot from you!!! You are sooo talented and like someone in the comments said, you really are a style genuis!!!!!!❤
Brown shoes with black is my favorite combo and I do it all the time. I have brown croc pattern Birkenstock and they get worn with pretty much anything in Summer. Super stylish and comfy
Yes that is true I do find it boring most of the time here in America and I have to add my own little twist to the outfits so that I am entertained, but there's no denying the elegance and class that goes along with this style and sometimes you just need that. My most favorite outfit in this video is the last one and it is the least French Girl!😅
Commenting again because I am watching your videos over and over. I just love your videos, your sense of style is incerdible, lady!❤ I love that you share the exact principles, because it makes so much more easy to find the right pieces ❤ Thank you!
Love your hair style in your French girl style video from a year ago, and this hair style in this video looks so good on you, stunning! Everything in this video looks beyond beautiful on you! Phenomenal combinations, I have to incorporate at least some of these principles. You have two fashion personalities, French girl style personality and whimsical American girl style personality...but your interpretation of the French style looks beyond amazing on you!
Great video, pertinent advice and inspiring style choices! The one thing missing is the Converse shoes. A pair of white, simple, Converse shoes is an absolute must for a French girl style. They wear it with jeans, pants, and dresses, it goes with everything. Most of the time, they are the "walking flats" you keep mentioning. My French sister-in-law owns them in several colours, as well. We bought a pair together last time I visited, and I wear it very often.
You’re absolutely adorable and fun to watch. I love your advice and sense of style especially after having gone to Paris this year for first time. You Nailed it.
I looove thrifting too! I find so many interesting, quality pieces and just yesterday I bought 4 tops all for $28 and one of them is just the most beautiful silk blouse🥰 I love your videos very helpful
You’re the friend I need to take when I go shopping for clothes! Too often I get overwhelmed and intimidated so I leave without buying anything. Love the looks and your videos ❤
Your videos are incredible!! I love your styling tips!! I’m a new subscriber but I’m already hooked. Where would you recommend finding a silk camisole?? Have you thrifted them??
Just stumbled on your fabulous channel. For decades I've bought fabulous clothes at many thrift/consignment shops. I love scarves and have so many of them. Wearing a scarf is my signature look. My husband loves the look.
Because of my work with lathes…scarves are a danger. But, having a neck like a stack of dimes, vintage handkerchiefs fit perfectly. I have one I’ve worn to tatters…it’s my favorite.
Thanks for mentioning ThredUp. I have never heard of it and it is fantastic! I can’t wait to try it. But first I am reviewing what is in my closet using your fun, creative French girl point of view. 🎉❤👍🏆☀️🤩👑❤️
So enjoying your videos. Like many others here, I just discovered your station, and I am hooked! Was just in Paris, and can’t wait o get back there with some of these tips in my pocket!
Just found your videos and love everything about them. Can you recommend some places to shop online to find items like your purchases? I doubt if there are thrift stores outside big cities that carry these kind of clothes. Wish I could hire you as my personal shopper! TIA
I'm sorry I don't do a lot of online shopping so I'm not quite sure where to send you. Maybe you could just leave room in your suitcase and plan on going thrift shopping whenever you travel?
I am mostly referring to Kilo Shop in the Republique area. I have never been a brand person so when I'm being vague, it's mostly due to lack of interest on my part but I do see that people want to know, so I'm going to be more careful to mention specific things in the future!
Question, i would love the more natural look. However, due to cup size, an underwire is necessary for support. How does one get a more natural silhouette then..?😢 (no padding)
It’s taken me a while to realise that French Girl Style isn’t about what French women or girls actually wear in France - it’s a particular aesthetic based on foreign perceptions of Paris. Is that fair? I’ve travelled all over France and never seen this style. Except on Jane Birkin. Who wasn’t French.
I think it's mostly that neutrals are important and black is very common. If you really want to do French girl style then try neutrals instead. Personally I like a lot of color, much more than most French women would tolerate.
The French love navy, which is more flattering on me than black. I'm selling all my black clothes on Poshmark after having my colors done by Jennifer Butler Color. Painful since all of my nicer clothes were black.
@@PoshPilgrim1776 I let go of almost all my black a few years ago, and yes, some of those “investment pieces” were painful to part with. I love navy - that works for me! Not so harsh as black. Even a charcoal gray can work on me, but I don’t know how to style it for French style. Wish I looked good in black, but it is what it is. Just wish I’d figured my colours out earlier in life. 😉

I have to say I am obsessed with your videos since I first discovered you few days ago. You are fun and interesting and I love your energy and style.

You look so good in all your outfits, you really understand your body shape/ energy. Everything is so cute. 😭
Thank you!!
Every outfit on here is so so great! And you really did just throw it on!!
I couldn't find clothes at the thrift store so I started getting the fabric. Made a lot of items with good quality fabric.

Diana, where do you shop for your thrift finds? You get awesome prices.
I'm in Los Angeles and it's a thrifting mecca!
I wish I could thrift these!
The silk dress + blazer combo can be worn with a belt on the blazer..!
You need espadrilles with rubans! And Mary Jane’s (bebes) et closed toes mules avec bijou!
I definitely need to expand my shoe collection. I really need more space! I looked up "bijou" because I didn't know what it was. Is it jeweled?
Yes for evening. Everything else basic black jeans, black t shirt and handcrafted supple black leather or red with snap on jewels! Oh la la…
The jeans need to be high rise and wide legged and expose the ankle. Think flood pants! Paired with oversized black fine wool jacket. Sexy ankles…
Would you share the brand name of the silk dress you thrifted about 21 miinutes in? I want to try to find a similar one. Thank you
I'm sorry but that was a thrifted item that didn't have a tag in it. We'll never know! Probably the best you could do is a reverse image search of it.

Can you describe a “high quality buckle?”
It should look good like jewelry or hardware, or something you might find on a saddle. It shouldn't look cheap.
