I can really tell this is your first experience with Home Free, but I understand where you're coming from. The first time I heard Home Free was an accident. In 2019, I was quite ill and in the hospital for five months, and my cellphone became my constant companion. I have been an Eagles fan as long as I can remember. One day, I was thinking about the song Seven Bridges Road. Went on to TH-cam, found the sing, and kept on with what I was doing. Suddenly, within the FIRST THREE NOTES, I knew I wasn't listening to the Eagles. I picked up my phone, watching and listening to these five men completely in awe. An absolutely amazing acapella group!!! I listened to that song over and over for a good hour before I looked up their other songs. I was and still am, hooked on HOME FREE!!! Their harmonies are SPOT ON! They all have very distinct voices, and it's easy to tell who is singing solo parts, yet they harmonize like angels. Their vocal percussionist, Adam Rupp, is truly the heartbeat of the group. There are videos of Adam doing about a ten minute drum/DJ solo that will BLOW YOUR MIND! Of the top 3 a cappella groups (Home Free, VoicePlay and Pentatonic, and soon to be 4 as The Bass Gang is rising rapidly), Home Free was the first to go on the road with their modern takes on the genre. In my opinion, one of the many reasons they won season 4 of The Sing Off tv show was because they were the only group to give lead, spotlight and so much love to their bass singer. That started a trend with vocal groups, and now you have several fantastic bassists getting the attention they deserve! I loved your reaction to the incredible talents of Home Free. Follow them, the fans will swarm, and you will not be disappointed!
These guys are pure talent. Saw them last year and they are just as amazing live. Tim the bassist hits notes that actually vibrate in your chest. Adam's beatboxing adds so much to every song. You forget that you are not listening to an actual band. Please check out more from these guys. They identify as a country acapella group but they can sing anything. Their cover of Dire Straits Brother in Arms is amazing. They also have original music that is worth checking out.
With Tims bass it was my knees that went when I saw them live.. holy crows - I saw them in Denver in one of the old school theatres downtown and I was waiting for the plaster to start falling!
Home Free are incredible, so happy to see them on your channel! Since you beatbox, I highly recommend checking out Adam Rupp's drum solos, in my opinion his 2019 Tifton, Georgia and his Strawberry Festival 2022 performances are the best. And despite what people will say, he is not a world champion, he has stated that he has never competed and has no intention of doing so. He absolutely could win, though, he's the best I have seen out of all the current Acapella groups. Hope to see you dive into more of their work, as well as their solo projects. ❤
No offense to you, Adam is definitely the best beatboxer I've heard in an acapella group, but he wouldn't stand a chance in a professional competition, pro beatboxers are insane he wouldn't even be qualified to compete.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others. Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist. Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible. Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes. Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul. Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound. There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). .. This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing. Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. Some people think that guy you were talking about at the end looks kind of like Leonardo do Caprio, so that might be it 😂. If you are going down this rabbit hole, it’s deep! They do a lot of covers, but they also do a lot of original songs! What you hear is what you get even in a live show. Adam Chance makes the mouth harp sound using a throat singing technique. It is rough on the throat so now they use a looper to continue the sound in live shows. The initial noise is still a cappella though. Adam Rupp is the outstanding beatboxer/vocal percussionist and he does most of the sounds, though every member of Home Free can beatbox to some degree. I love watching reactors watch this video for the first time - it’s almost like seeing them for the first time all over again! This is the first song I heard from them and was immediately hooked. They are 100% a cappella in most of their videos. Some of their stuff does include instruments, but they are prominently displayed, so you always know for sure. You are so screwed (but in a good way), as this rabbit hole is deep! And if you react to Home Free, Home Fries (their fans, like myself) will come in droves to point the way and share the journey - because, honestly, we all love to see New Fries being born. Don’t worry, though, we’re an enthusiastic but friendly bunch.🙃 The usual next songs to watch are Ring of Fire, End of the Road or Folsom Prison Blues. All are very good introductions to Home Free and well worth watching. Let’s introduce you to our boys: Front left is the awesome silky smoothness of lead tenor Rob “the beard” Lundquist. He has several “drum solos” out there, but my favorite is the one where he’s wearing a red plaid shirt. He doesn’t usually sing solos, but you can hear his voice in How Great Thou Art, which is probably the most beautiful version I’ve ever heard. To highlight Adam, I recommend Ain’t Goin’ Down (only on Home Free’s FB page due to some copyright issues, but can be reacted on YT), Listen to the Music, and one of my personal favorites, Do You Hear What I Hear, which he arranged. His beatboxing is amazing in everything they do! Last, but certainly not least, front right is basso profundo Tim Foust, apparently part dragon with a 5+ octave range. His low notes have literally blown speakers. I love him in Hillbilly Bone, In the Blood, My Church, O Holy Night, Brothers in Arms, and Mary Did You Know (and so, so many others!). He also did a collaboration with Peter Hollens (another a cappella singer) on Misty Mountains (from The Hobbit) that is amazing! To see their funny side (and they are all hams to a certain degree), see The Butts Remix (hilarious!), Champagne Tastes (written by Tim), Cold Hard Cash (written by Austin), Full of Cheer, Country Fried Pop, and All About the Bass. To hear their exquisite harmonies, How Great Thou Art, Do You Hear What I Hear, and Brothers in Arms. Home Fries recommend that you don’t see Mayday until you’re familiar with the guys and know their (usual) roles. Trust us on this one! Any song they do won’t disappoint … Home Fries call their covers “upgrades.” They lean country, but do pretty much every genre-even opera! This group has 5 tenors, 5 beatboxers, 2 bases, and 2 baritones. These guys have no egos and choose who leads by who they think does the best job. The jaw harp is being done by (Adam) Chance, the guy on the left in the back row wearing the vest. It's a vocal style called throat singing. Chance also adds the baritone and bass parts when bassist Tim Faust is singing higher parts. Adam Rupp, on the right side in the back is obviously the vocal percussionist and founded the group with his brother who left the group around 2015. Adam has a couple of videos of his drum solos that will blow you away.

Homefree is amazing, so excited to see you starting the rabbit hole of their wonderful music! Yes they are primarily country but do all kinds of covers and originals. They have a very large and loyal fan base, the Homefries. The were the first country acapella group to win the Sing-off. Their harmonies are the best out there.
Adam Rupp, the primary beatboxer, is doing the fake drums, the fake harmonica, and some of the animal sounds. In live concerts, he uses a looping machine, because even he can't to them all at once. Adam Chance, normally the baritone, is doing the fake diggeri-doo/juiceharp and some other sound effects.
Nice reaction. Thank You. It is all vocal talent. No instruments. No autotuning. Just pure talent. And as mentioned earlier they are even better live. I've had the good fortune to see them 4 times. They also do different genres. Their cover of Boys II Men's End Of The Road is an excellent example.
These guys are amazing. Besides their perfection in harmonies and world-class beatboxing, they are also known for their humorous videos. You are sure going to have fun with the best a capella group out there. BTW-Tim Faust, the man the sings the bass with the penetrating eyes has a 5 octave range. The others have incredible ranges and fill in with beatboxing at times. They can also do many genres. Multi-talented!

Someone commented once that Adam Chance, the one you were asking about, looks like Leonardo di Caprio, and there is a strong resemblance there. He was using a throat singing technique to make that jaw harp sound. These guys are just amazing and can sing any genre

This was a cool reaction. I enjoyed your knowledgeable appreciation for Home Free's talents. This group is different because they are all about producing the best music, not just showcasing their vocal acrobatic abilities. They have hundreds of songs in their catalog and they're all good. Pick your genre and they have probably done it. My favorite is Take Me Home Country Roads, but their collaborations are awesome too. They just released a new album of original music written by their bass, Tim Foust, or their High Tenor, Austin Brown, called So Long Dixie. Enjoy.
Somewhere on YT there is an old video from a C&W live tour they did where the whole band walks off stage and leaves the beatboxer to do a drum solo. It's a real trip, you would probably enjoy it.

I actually came to your channel because of this reaction to Home Free. I checked your previous reactions and choose 3 months back to watch your reactions of my few favorites - BlackPink, Pentatonix with Avi and Home Free... You're the first reactor who figured out that it was Chance doing that sound in the beginning and ending.
You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
The jaw harp (or mouth harp as I've heard some call it) is done by Adam Chance--goes by Chance. He is in a white shirt with a dark vest and hat, and is not their beatboxer. That's Adam Rupp, and he does the nomonica. He also does drums, castanets (in their Sea Shanty Medley), and a lot of various sounds. He is awesome! This song is from the movie, O Brother Where Art Thou, which is why they are dressed in those particular clothes. The first singer is Austin Brown (high tenor), then Rob Lundquist (tenor, beard & glasses), and bass is Tim Foust (5 octave range).
Love your reaction ! I know that you know Geoff, you just met Tim Foust the Home Free bass and I also know that you've been reacting on PTX and you heard Avi Kaplan. This is a trio, the best bass singers on earth at this moment ! Tim is incredible but you have to see Change on the rise, the first song Avi Kaplan released solo. He's doing 90% of the background vocals, choir and music sounds, just wonderful. Tremendous bass singer but with 5 octaves range 😉 He's just been considered in the top ten best bass singers of all time and there are Barry White and Léonard Cohen in it so, he's someone special. Dude, I LOVE your reactions to these guys!!! You're so awesomely honest in your comments I can almost predict where you will pause before you get to that point!!! BTW-my grandfather (Veteran of WWII) could also imitate a harmonica with his hands. He taught me how to make a train whistle by blowing between both hands. Drummers have reacted to Home Free and have stated that Adam Rupp's beatboxing drums are the most realistic ones they have heard. In "Listen To The Music" he goes off, throwing a little bit of everything in there. In that one, his toms get me every time. They also did a version of the the old country classic "Crazy" where you swear you can hear the brushes sliding and tapping on the drumskins. And these guys all beatbox to some extent. Rob (beard and glasses) is actually pretty good at it himself though you don't hear it much. He would on occasion cover the beatboxing while Adam did a routine for a skit in a live show. Austin (lead in this song) also does the harmonica sound with Adam in live shows and can do a funky electric guitar sound. Chance (jawharp) can also do a guitar sound. Then you have Tim bringing in the speaker blowing bass notes but he also replicates a bass guitar or stand up bass in many songs. They sing pretty much anything, switch up who sings lead all the time and have a great sense of humor so you never know exactly what you are going to get from these guys. The "Butt's Remix" is a great example of that. Just a note if you do any videos from mid 2016 or earlier, you will see a lineup change as Adam's brother, Chris, opted to leave the group to pursue his career in singing and producing mid 2016.
The song is an old folk song, first recorded around 1915. It was then called “The Goodbye Song “, or sometimes “The Farewell Song “. It is a slave bidding farewell to all he knows and loves before he runs for freedom. The tone and tempo, fit the original perfectly. The jaw harp twang at the opening and close is done by Adam Chance (back row, black vest) using a Mongolian throat singing technique. Adam Rupp (back row, suspenders) is the beat boxer doing the no-monica and drums. He has several videos of him doing a drum solo.

Hello. New subscriber as of today. Geoff Castelucci did an arrangement for Home Free. He arranged "Elvira" which was made a hit in 1981 by the Oak Ridge Boys which were the forerunners of Home Free back in the day. Home Free performs "Elvira" and features the Oak Ridge Boys. Both groups, old & new, perform seamlessly together. Geoff had to come up with a very special arrangement that would showcase both groups at their best. It was recorded several years ago not too long after Home Free and Voice Play appeared on "The Sing Off". Well worth a reaction.
Duane Allen from The Oak Ridge Boys reached out to Tim Foust to collaborate. Geoff had an arrangement of “Elvira” which Tim borrowed & later tailored for Home Free & the ORB.
About Home Free There are not many bands where 4 out of 5 can sing lead !!! But these guys do. The others have also learned a bit of beatboxing and have had small duels on stage between each other. Very special people with very special talents and very down to earth with a twinkle in the eye. The five founding members were brothers Chris and Adam Rupp, Matt Atwood, Darren Scruggs, and Dan Lemke; taking their name from a boat owned by Atwood's grandfather who helped support the group financially in the early years The group began in 2000 as a hobby for the singers, but they gradually gained in experience and popularity. By 2007 they had enough of a following to pursue music full-time. During this period, the Rupp brothers and Atwood formed the core of the group, with Atwood singing lead tenor. Other members of the group came and went. They competed in an A capella TV competition "Sing Off" 4th season and won big !!! They won the TV competition the year after Pentatonix !! Then Chris Rupp was also there instead of Chance. Adam and Chris started the group in high school. Chris is now making his own career and started another band called 7th Ave whit his sister Tristin Rupp (sister of Chris and Adam) and 2 others. Here are the current members of Home Free: Adam Rupp :beatboxer that’s leaving everyone in complete disbelief as to how he could imitate an entire sound system by only using his voice and is the best in the entire US and soon in the world as he continues to develop it. He started only because they needed one. He also has his own solos in the shows. It is only then that most people understand that it is his mouth sounds from drums, harmonica and lots of other things. He also has a clear tenor voice that is used a little now and then. Adams fellow band members affectionately referred to him as a “freak of nature.” because of how he transforms from a singer and vocal percussionist into a human musical instrument. Born on April 23, 1982 Mankato, Minnesota. Graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2004 with a music performance degree in trumpet. Tim Foust: is not only bass but instead read 1 Oct lower than other men as the lowest tones are vibrations but the total range of his voice is a full 5 octaves !!!!! That is, from the lowest base to the highest tenors. He has also collaborated with a guy named Peter Hollens in songs like Misty mounten and Sound of silence. Born on July 19, 1981 from Lubbock,Texas but was raised in Nederland, a city in Jefferson County, Texas. In his early years, he attended Lamar University as a pre-dental major until the day he could no longer fight the music itch. Recently, the Nederland native was also inducted into the Museum of the Gulf Coast Hall of Fame due to his influence, talent and vocal range. He joined the likes of Janis Joplin, Tracy Byrd. First sang with them as a guest on their 2010 tour. A Texas native, Foust was then pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter of country music and had recently released a solo album, but was not ready to sign on full-time. Matthew Tuey sang with the group in the interim of 2011, until Foust joined them full-time in January 2012. Rob Lungquist: lead tenor with Swedish descended who has an angel's voice with a beard like a lumberjack! His second talent is to whistle tunes! He can also beatbox a bit. Born on June 2, 1983 and comes from Minnesota. He has a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Minnesota-Duluth. He joined Home Free after his graduating in 2008. He moved to Minneapolis, where he worked at the Guthrie Theater as a bartender, and he used to sing for a fellow Minnesota-based group called Four Shadow. Austin Brown: High tenor with a unique voice that is finished with country stucco on. Absolutely incredible man. Born 22 maj 1986 and comes from Tifton, Georgia. Attended Oklahoma City University, majoring in Music Theater. In 2012, Austin was working on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship as a featured singer in their production shows. When Home Free joined the cruise as a guest performing group, they met and became close and he let Home Free know that he would be interested in joining the group if they ever had an opening. At the end of 2012 lead singer Matt Atwood retire and Home Free then invited Brown to join as lead tenor. Adam Chance (called only Chance): baritone but also bass when Tim sings lead. We're just starting to understand his voice ability and wow what a voice. On March 18, 2016 it was announced that, after sixteen years performing with the group, co-founder Chris Rupp would be leaving to pursue a solo career. He would be replaced after May 8th by Adam Chance, formerly of Street Corner Symphony. Born May 24, 1984 Chance is a native of Baldwin County, right across the bay from Mobile. He stayed in Baldwin County until his early 20s. His mom still lives there until today. He is a former journalism and music student at the University of Alabama. All five of Home Free's singers have formal musical training. Lundquist and the Rupp brothers all have bachelor's degrees in music. Adam Rupp's primary instrument is trumpet. Home Free's styling as a country group is relatively recent. Before Tim Foust joined the group, Home Free was an all-purpose a cappella group, singing in a wide variety of styles, of which country was only a minor one. With the additions of Foust and Brown, the group moved more in the direction of country and found that audiences responded well to it. Home Free had auditioned three times for The Sing-Off (without Foust and Brown) and not been accepted. When auditioning for the fourth season, they made a conscious decision to style themselves as a country group. In an interview Brown said this identity is what grabbed the attention of The Sing-Off’s casting director, who said, “You guys really fit something we don’t have.” Home Free converts songs to country a capella everything from Avicii - Wake Me Up to Johnny Cash "Ring of fire" etc. To understand what these are, you should check out their live recorded shows… because you do not understand them before there. Their own song videos are absolutely wonderful. You can laugh yourself to death and you can cry from recognizing heartbreaking ballads. They have released over 14 records and Home Free's album “Full Of (Even More) Cheer” debuted at number two on Top Country Albums with 13,000 sold, the band's best performance on the chart at the time. But the album "Timeless" came in 2nd place on the country Billebord list the first week !!!! Everyone placed high on Billebord country lists at the record release. Then you should know that the fans are significantly fewer than, for example, Blake Shelton or Kenny Rodgers. Kenny and The Oak Ridge Boyes contacted them and have collaborated on several songs Their shows are so much fun and you get involved when you go to their concerts. Be prepared for lots of laughter. They do everything they can for their fans and the fans do everything they can to for the band. The fans are called “Home Fries” and there kid fans are called “Small Fries”. There are many examples of how good and cordial it is between the fans and the band. The latest came up due to Hurricane Harvey. It hit where Tim Foust comes from and he has his family and friends there. They did not get much help. So Home Free started a “Youcaring” account where they deposited $ 20,000 and asked the fans to match… it took just under 4 hours and the fans asked them to raise the limit. They raised it to 100,000 dollars and of them we fans have reached this and find out via Facebook and pictures of how they where used. They also made a song with pictures from the fans about this. Everything from that song goes directly to the collection. They work with people they know on the spot so they know that all the money that comes in goes straight there. They were surprised at how much the fans line up and helps with which they should not be at this point as we have proven that we help when it is most needed. Another little story between the band and the fans happened during an outdoor show where they had to cancel after 3 songs due to thunder and rain storm. The fans gathered in a large pavilion to wait and see if they can play more. Then they see the band coming walking in thunder and rain up to them… stand on a camping table and say that they unfortunately can not continue the show but that they would occasionally sing an unplugged song that was incredible even before. Great reaction - they are impressive, aren’t they? The guy who was doing the jaw harp sound which you spotted at the end is Adam Chance, who goes by Chance. You said he reminded you of someone. In this vid, I think he looks a bit like Leonardo Dicaprio.
Home Free started as primarily country but have branched out into pretty much all genres. "Try Everything," "Ring of Fire," "Folsom Prison Blues," "Can't Outrun You," "Butts Remix," and "Brothers in Arms" will give you a nice beginning sampling. Thank you!
That was a very abrupt ending o.o; Anyways, thanks for welcoming the Home Fries into your comment section by checking out one of Home Free's songs :D It's nice to see recognition for Adam's beatboxing, he gets overlooked a little by reactors sometimes. Yet I think he's one of the most talented beatboxers I've ever witnessed. This group doesn't immediately have a lead singer, depending on the song and the genre anyone can fill that role, but I will admit that either Austin (the guy you said was the lead singer) or Tim (the bass singer) often get put in the spotlight. They do a lot of country music, but they have some other things to their repetoire as well. They could probably do it all. Hope you'll react to some more Home Free, if you're interested in beatboxing, and the way Adam does it, I suggest you watch his 'drum solo' video. It'll give you a decent indication of what he can do.
Welcome to Home Free. Each member could easily be a solo artist. The more you get into them the more you will be blown away. Tim the bass has a 5 octave range maybe more. Austin the lead here has a voice like butter. The amazing thing is all of them can switch rolls. Chance the can sing tenor and bass so he often switches with Tim when he sings higher. Rob the one in glasses was trained in opera and has a video with Austin singing Nessun Dorma. Adam Rupp the founding member is world class and can make some crazy noises. He has a drum solo video on youtube. Their harmonies are incredible and tight.
Anthony, I came here for the awesome Ren reactions but now you've hooked yourself a Home Fry. Home Free doesn't do covers, they do upgrades! Their catalogue is rich with amazing content across many genres. Since you're so good with beats and beatboxing you definitely need to check out the Butts Remix. The vocal scratch sound at 11:20 by Rob Lundquist started as a joke at the end of his recording session for the track. Their engineer really liked it, and asked Rob to keep it in the song. It adds a little bit of fun spice at the end -- quintessential Home Free. They take their music very seriously, themselves? not so much.
i see them any time they're within 300 miles of me, they never get repetitive or old! adam chance is doing the jaw harp, he uses overtones to get the sound so it's all vocal. adam rupp is the vocal percussionist and is considered one of/the best in the world. they bill themselves as country acapella but they can sing pretty much anything. they just dropped their cover of the old classic delta dawn and it is fantastic. they performed it in their concert line up last year

I can really tell this is your first experience with Home Free, but I understand where you're coming from.
The first time I heard Home Free was an accident.
In 2019, I was quite ill and in the hospital for five months, and my cellphone became my constant companion.
I have been an Eagles fan as long as I can remember. One day, I was thinking about the song Seven Bridges Road. Went on to TH-cam, found the sing, and kept on with what I was doing. Suddenly, within the FIRST THREE NOTES, I knew I wasn't listening to the Eagles.
I picked up my phone, watching and listening to these five men completely in awe. An absolutely amazing acapella group!!!
I listened to that song over and over for a good hour before I looked up their other songs. I was and still am, hooked on HOME FREE!!!
Their harmonies are SPOT ON!
They all have very distinct voices, and it's easy to tell who is singing solo parts, yet they harmonize like angels.
Their vocal percussionist, Adam Rupp, is truly the heartbeat of the group. There are videos of Adam doing about a ten minute drum/DJ solo that will BLOW YOUR MIND!

Of the top 3 a cappella groups (Home Free, VoicePlay and Pentatonic, and soon to be 4 as The Bass Gang is rising rapidly), Home Free was the first to go on the road with their modern takes on the genre. In my opinion, one of the many reasons they won season 4 of The Sing Off tv show was because they were the only group to give lead, spotlight and so much love to their bass singer. That started a trend with vocal groups, and now you have several fantastic bassists getting the attention they deserve! I loved your reaction to the incredible talents of Home Free. Follow them, the fans will swarm, and you will not be disappointed!

These guys are pure talent. Saw them last year and they are just as amazing live. Tim the bassist hits notes that actually vibrate in your chest. Adam's beatboxing adds so much to every song. You forget that you are not listening to an actual band. Please check out more from these guys. They identify as a country acapella group but they can sing anything. Their cover of Dire Straits Brother in Arms is amazing. They also have original music that is worth checking out.
With Tims bass it was my knees that went when I saw them live.. holy crows - I saw them in Denver in one of the old school theatres downtown and I was waiting for the plaster to start falling!
They are incredibly hard working pure talent.
I saw them live in Atlanta, front row. So I could hear them before the microphone. They are just that good.
Home Free are incredible, so happy to see them on your channel! Since you beatbox, I highly recommend checking out Adam Rupp's drum solos, in my opinion his 2019 Tifton, Georgia and his Strawberry Festival 2022 performances are the best. And despite what people will say, he is not a world champion, he has stated that he has never competed and has no intention of doing so. He absolutely could win, though, he's the best I have seen out of all the current Acapella groups. Hope to see you dive into more of their work, as well as their solo projects. ❤
No offense to you, Adam is definitely the best beatboxer I've heard in an acapella group, but he wouldn't stand a chance in a professional competition, pro beatboxers are insane he wouldn't even be qualified to compete.

Home Free is incredible. Everything they do is great. And although they are a Country A-cappela group, they can really sing all genres. They really all have great voices with their own specialties. Even Adam Rupp who started the group with his brother Chris Rupp. Chris left the group in 2016 to go solo but also to start other projects with his sister, among others.
Adam Rupp-Beatboxer but is actually an inhuman freaking good mouth artist.
Tim Foust- Deep bass but also as a tenor and everything in between is possible.
Austin Brown-High tenor with his great runs and high notes.
Rob Lundquist (beard and glasses)-Tenor, with a voice like velvet and so much soul.
Adam Chance (back left, who is called Chance) - Baritone/ Bass, a voice so smooth and sexy. And who here also makes the Jaw harp sound.
There is no permanent lead singer in Home Free. They look at every song whose voice suits it best, the best harmony, no egos, no rivalries, great personalities etc. Besides, they can all beatbox (see their live performance 9to5). ..
This is one of the many covers they do in addition to various originals, and each one is just amazing.
Take the time to discover Home Free because it will be a great tour. For me they are number 1 A-Cappella group

What you hear is what you get even in a live show.
Adam Chance makes the mouth harp sound using a throat singing technique.
It is rough on the throat so now they use a looper to continue the sound in live shows. The initial noise is still a cappella though.
Adam Rupp is the outstanding beatboxer/vocal percussionist and he does most of the sounds, though every member of Home Free can beatbox to some degree.

I love watching reactors watch this video for the first time - it’s almost like seeing them for the first time all over again! This is the first song I heard from them and was immediately hooked. They are 100% a cappella in most of their videos. Some of their stuff does include instruments, but they are prominently displayed, so you always know for sure. You are so screwed (but in a good way), as this rabbit hole is deep! And if you react to Home Free, Home Fries (their fans, like myself) will come in droves to point the way and share the journey - because, honestly, we all love to see New Fries being born. Don’t worry, though, we’re an enthusiastic but friendly bunch.🙃

Back right is founding member, beatboxer, tenor, and vocal percussionist Adam “Freak of nature” Rupp. His talent covers not only drums and the “no monica”, but extends into animal/bug noises (woodpecker and flying insects in this video) and DJ-style record scratching. He has several “drum solos” out there, but my favorite is the one where he’s wearing a red plaid shirt. He doesn’t usually sing solos, but you can hear his voice in How Great Thou Art, which is probably the most beautiful version I’ve ever heard. To highlight Adam, I recommend Ain’t Goin’ Down (only on Home Free’s FB page due to some copyright issues, but can be reacted on YT), Listen to the Music, and one of my personal favorites, Do You Hear What I Hear, which he arranged. His beatboxing is amazing in everything they do!
Last, but certainly not least, front right is basso profundo Tim Foust, apparently part dragon with a 5+ octave range. His low notes have literally blown speakers. I love him in Hillbilly Bone, In the Blood, My Church, O Holy Night, Brothers in Arms, and Mary Did You Know (and so, so many others!). He also did a collaboration with Peter Hollens (another a cappella singer) on Misty Mountains (from The Hobbit) that is amazing!

The jaw harp is being done by (Adam) Chance, the guy on the left in the back row wearing the vest. It's a vocal style called throat singing. Chance also adds the baritone and bass parts when bassist Tim Faust is singing higher parts. Adam Rupp, on the right side in the back is obviously the vocal percussionist and founded the group with his brother who left the group around 2015. Adam has a couple of videos of his drum solos that will blow you away.

Homefree is amazing, so excited to see you starting the rabbit hole of their wonderful music! Yes they are primarily country but do all kinds of covers and originals. They have a very large and loyal fan base, the Homefries. The were the first country acapella group to win the Sing-off. Their harmonies are the best out there.
Adam Rupp, the primary beatboxer, is doing the fake drums, the fake harmonica, and some of the animal sounds. In live concerts, he uses a looping machine, because even he can't to them all at once. Adam Chance, normally the baritone, is doing the fake diggeri-doo/juiceharp and some other sound effects.

Nice reaction. Thank You. It is all vocal talent. No instruments. No autotuning. Just pure talent. And as mentioned earlier they are even better live. I've had the good fortune to see them 4 times. They also do different genres. Their cover of Boys II Men's End Of The Road is an excellent example.
These guys are amazing. Besides their perfection in harmonies and world-class beatboxing, they are also known for their humorous videos. You are sure going to have fun with the best a capella group out there. BTW-Tim Faust, the man the sings the bass with the penetrating eyes has a 5 octave range. The others have incredible ranges and fill in with beatboxing at times. They can also do many genres. Multi-talented!

Someone commented once that Adam Chance, the one you were asking about, looks like Leonardo di Caprio, and there is a strong resemblance there. He was using a throat singing technique to make that jaw harp sound. These guys are just amazing and can sing any genre

This was a cool reaction. I enjoyed your knowledgeable appreciation for Home Free's talents. This group is different because they are all about producing the best music, not just showcasing their vocal acrobatic abilities. They have hundreds of songs in their catalog and they're all good. Pick your genre and they have probably done it. My favorite is Take Me Home Country Roads, but their collaborations are awesome too. They just released a new album of original music written by their bass, Tim Foust, or their High Tenor, Austin Brown, called So Long Dixie. Enjoy.
Somewhere on YT there is an old video from a C&W live tour they did where the whole band walks off stage and leaves the beatboxer to do a drum solo. It's a real trip, you would probably enjoy it.

I actually came to your channel because of this reaction to Home Free. I checked your previous reactions and choose 3 months back to watch your reactions of my few favorites - BlackPink, Pentatonix with Avi and Home Free... You're the first reactor who figured out that it was Chance doing that sound in the beginning and ending.
You have just been introduced to the best a cappella group out there. These guys are all so talented. They lean towards country but they can do any genre. They all can take the lead depending on whos voice is best for the song. They are known for their tight harmonies. Tim Foust is one of the best bass singers out there & their beatboxer vocal percussionist Adam Rupp can simulate any sound. This song is very old & is done in the bluegrass country style. It was used in the movie "Oh Brother Where Art Thou" starring George Clooney.
The jaw harp (or mouth harp as I've heard some call it) is done by Adam Chance--goes by Chance. He is in a white shirt with a dark vest and hat, and is not their beatboxer. That's Adam Rupp, and he does the nomonica. He also does drums, castanets (in their Sea Shanty Medley), and a lot of various sounds. He is awesome! This song is from the movie, O Brother Where Art Thou, which is why they are dressed in those particular clothes. The first singer is Austin Brown (high tenor), then Rob Lundquist (tenor, beard & glasses), and bass is Tim Foust (5 octave range).

This is a trio, the best bass singers on earth at this moment ! Tim is incredible but you have to see Change on the rise, the first song Avi Kaplan released solo. He's doing 90% of the background vocals, choir and music sounds, just wonderful. Tremendous bass singer but with 5 octaves range 😉 He's just been considered in the top ten best bass singers of all time and there are Barry White and Léonard Cohen in it so, he's someone special. BTW-my grandfather (Veteran of WWII) could also imitate a harmonica with his hands. He taught me how to make a train whistle by blowing between both hands. Drummers have reacted to Home Free and have stated that Adam Rupp's beatboxing drums are the most realistic ones they have heard. In "Listen To The Music" he goes off, throwing a little bit of everything in there. In that one, his toms get me every time. They also did a version of the the old country classic "Crazy" where you swear you can hear the brushes sliding and tapping on the drumskins. And these guys all beatbox to some extent. Rob (beard and glasses) is actually pretty good at it himself though you don't hear it much. He would on occasion cover the beatboxing while Adam did a routine for a skit in a live show. Austin (lead in this song) also does the harmonica sound with Adam in live shows and can do a funky electric guitar sound. Chance (jawharp) can also do a guitar sound. Then you have Tim bringing in the speaker blowing bass notes but he also replicates a bass guitar or stand up bass in many songs. They sing pretty much anything, switch up who sings lead all the time and have a great sense of humor so you never know exactly what you are going to get from these guys. The "Butt's Remix" is a great example of that. Just a note if you do any videos from mid 2016 or earlier, you will see a lineup change as Adam's brother, Chris, opted to leave the group to pursue his career in singing and producing mid 2016.

The song is an old folk song, first recorded around 1915. It was then called “The Goodbye Song “, or sometimes “The Farewell Song “. It is a slave bidding farewell to all he knows and loves before he runs for freedom. The tone and tempo, fit the original perfectly.
The jaw harp twang at the opening and close is done by Adam Chance (back row, black vest) using a Mongolian throat singing technique. Adam Rupp (back row, suspenders) is the beat boxer doing the no-monica and drums. He has several videos of him doing a drum solo.

The term you are looking for is "Selective Focus". This allows the object of interest to be in sharp focus while the foreground and/or background go into progressively softer out of focus.

Hello. New subscriber as of today. Geoff Castelucci did an arrangement for Home Free. He arranged "Elvira" which was made a hit in 1981 by the Oak Ridge Boys which were the forerunners of Home Free back in the day. Home Free performs "Elvira" and features the Oak Ridge Boys. Both groups, old & new, perform seamlessly together. Geoff had to come up with a very special arrangement that would showcase both groups at their best. It was recorded several years ago not too long after Home Free and Voice Play appeared on "The Sing Off". Well worth a reaction.
Duane Allen from The Oak Ridge Boys reached out to Tim Foust to collaborate. Geoff had an arrangement of “Elvira” which Tim borrowed & later tailored for Home Free & the ORB.
About Home Free
There are not many bands where 4 out of 5 can sing lead !!! But these guys do. The others have also learned a bit of beatboxing and have had small duels on stage between each other. Very special people with very special talents and very down to earth with a twinkle in the eye.
The five founding members were brothers Chris and Adam Rupp, Matt Atwood, Darren Scruggs, and Dan Lemke; taking their name from a boat owned by Atwood's grandfather who helped support the group financially in the early years
The group began in 2000 as a hobby for the singers, but they gradually gained in experience and popularity. By 2007 they had enough of a following to pursue music full-time. During this period, the Rupp brothers and Atwood formed the core of the group, with Atwood singing lead tenor. Other members of the group came and went.
They competed in an A capella TV competition "Sing Off" 4th season and won big !!! They won the TV competition the year after Pentatonix !!
Then Chris Rupp was also there instead of Chance. Adam and Chris started the group in high school. Chris is now making his own career and started another band called 7th Ave whit his sister Tristin Rupp (sister of Chris and Adam) and 2 others.

Adam Rupp :beatboxer that’s leaving everyone in complete disbelief as to how he could imitate an entire sound system by only using his voice and is the best in the entire US and soon in the world as he continues to develop it. He started only because they needed one. He also has his own solos in the shows. It is only then that most people understand that it is his mouth sounds from drums, harmonica and lots of other things. He also has a clear tenor voice that is used a little now and then. Adams fellow band members affectionately referred to him as a “freak of nature.” because of how he transforms from a singer and vocal percussionist into a human musical instrument.
Born on April 23, 1982 Mankato, Minnesota. Graduated from Gustavus Adolphus College in 2004 with a music performance degree in trumpet.
Tim Foust: is not only bass but instead read 1 Oct lower than other men as the lowest tones are vibrations but the total range of his voice is a full 5 octaves !!!!! That is, from the lowest base to the highest tenors. He has also collaborated with a guy named Peter Hollens in songs like Misty mounten and Sound of silence.
Born on July 19, 1981 from Lubbock,Texas but was raised in Nederland, a city in Jefferson County, Texas. In his early years, he attended Lamar University as a pre-dental major until the day he could no longer fight the music itch.
Recently, the Nederland native was also inducted into the Museum of the Gulf Coast Hall of Fame due to his influence, talent and vocal range. He joined the likes of Janis Joplin, Tracy Byrd.
First sang with them as a guest on their 2010 tour. A Texas native, Foust was then pursuing a career as a singer/songwriter of country music and had recently released a solo album, but was not ready to sign on full-time. Matthew Tuey sang with the group in the interim of 2011, until Foust joined them full-time in January 2012.
Rob Lungquist: lead tenor with Swedish descended who has an angel's voice with a beard like a lumberjack! His second talent is to whistle tunes! He can also beatbox a bit.
Born on June 2, 1983 and comes from Minnesota. He has a bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.
He joined Home Free after his graduating in 2008. He moved to Minneapolis, where he worked at the Guthrie Theater as a bartender, and he used to sing for a fellow Minnesota-based group called Four Shadow.
Austin Brown: High tenor with a unique voice that is finished with country stucco on. Absolutely incredible man. Born 22 maj 1986 and comes from Tifton, Georgia. Attended Oklahoma City University, majoring in Music Theater.
In 2012, Austin was working on a Royal Caribbean cruise ship as a featured singer in their production shows. When Home Free joined the cruise as a guest performing group, they met and became close and he let Home Free know that he would be interested in joining the group if they ever had an opening. At the end of 2012 lead singer Matt Atwood retire and Home Free then invited Brown to join as lead tenor.
Adam Chance (called only Chance): baritone but also bass when Tim sings lead. We're just starting to understand his voice ability and wow what a voice. On March 18, 2016 it was announced that, after sixteen years performing with the group, co-founder Chris Rupp would be leaving to pursue a solo career. He would be replaced after May 8th by Adam Chance, formerly of Street Corner Symphony. Born May 24, 1984 Chance is a native of Baldwin County, right across the bay from Mobile. He stayed in Baldwin County until his early 20s. His mom still lives there until today.
He is a former journalism and music student at the University of Alabama.
All five of Home Free's singers have formal musical training. Lundquist and the Rupp brothers all have bachelor's degrees in music. Adam Rupp's primary instrument is trumpet.
Home Free's styling as a country group is relatively recent. Before Tim Foust joined the group, Home Free was an all-purpose a cappella group, singing in a wide variety of styles, of which country was only a minor one. With the additions of Foust and Brown, the group moved more in the direction of country and found that audiences responded well to it. Home Free had auditioned three times for The Sing-Off (without Foust and Brown) and not been accepted. When auditioning for the fourth season, they made a conscious decision to style themselves as a country group. In an interview Brown said this identity is what grabbed the attention of The Sing-Off’s casting director, who said, “You guys really fit something we don’t have.”
Home Free converts songs to country a capella everything from Avicii - Wake Me Up to Johnny Cash "Ring of fire" etc. To understand what these are, you should check out their live recorded shows… because you do not understand them before there. Their own song videos are absolutely wonderful. You can laugh yourself to death and you can cry from recognizing heartbreaking ballads. They have released over 14 records and Home Free's album “Full Of (Even More) Cheer” debuted at number two on Top Country Albums with 13,000 sold, the band's best performance on the chart at the time. But the album "Timeless" came in 2nd place on the country Billebord list the first week !!!! Everyone placed high on Billebord country lists at the record release. Then you should know that the fans are significantly fewer than, for example, Blake Shelton or Kenny Rodgers. Kenny and The Oak Ridge Boyes contacted them and have collaborated on several songs
Their shows are so much fun and you get involved when you go to their concerts. Be prepared for lots of laughter. They do everything they can for their fans and the fans do everything they can to for the band. The fans are called “Home Fries” and there kid fans are called “Small Fries”. There are many examples of how good and cordial it is between the fans and the band. The latest came up due to Hurricane Harvey. It hit where Tim Foust comes from and he has his family and friends there. They did not get much help. So Home Free started a “Youcaring” account where they deposited $ 20,000 and asked the fans to match… it took just under 4 hours and the fans asked them to raise the limit. They raised it to 100,000 dollars and of them we fans have reached this and find out via Facebook and pictures of how they where used.
They also made a song with pictures from the fans about this. Everything from that song goes directly to the collection. They work with people they know on the spot so they know that all the money that comes in goes straight there. They were surprised at how much the fans line up and helps with which they should not be at this point as we have proven that we help when it is most needed.
Another little story between the band and the fans happened during an outdoor show where they had to cancel after 3 songs due to thunder and rain storm. The fans gathered in a large pavilion to wait and see if they can play more. Then they see the band coming walking in thunder and rain up to them… stand on a camping table and say that they unfortunately can not continue the show but that they would occasionally sing an unplugged song that was incredible even before. This time it was accompanied by thunder and rain.

A lot of the fans stayed in a pavilion to waty oute the storm. I have never heard of any other artist doing what they did. They walked up a hill in rein and thunder...placed them self on a campingtabel. Told them this consert whas canceld but that they gonna sing 1 song moor unpluggde. It's nice to see recognition for Adam's beatboxing, he gets overlooked a little by reactors sometimes. Yet I think he's one of the most talented beatboxers I've ever witnessed.
This group doesn't immediately have a lead singer, depending on the song and the genre anyone can fill that role, but I will admit that either Austin (the guy you said was the lead singer) or Tim (the bass singer) often get put in the spotlight.
They do a lot of country music, but they have some other things to their repetoire as well. They could probably do it all.
Hope you'll react to some more Home Free, if you're interested in beatboxing, and the way Adam does it, I suggest you watch his 'drum solo' video. It'll give you a decent indication of what he can do.

Welcome to Home Free. Each member could easily be a solo artist. The more you get into them the more you will be blown away. Tim the bass has a 5 octave range maybe more. Austin the lead here has a voice like butter. The amazing thing is all of them can switch rolls. Chance the can sing tenor and bass so he often switches with Tim when he sings higher. Rob the one in glasses was trained in opera and has a video with Austin singing Nessun Dorma. Adam Rupp the founding member is world class and can make some crazy noises. He has a drum solo video on youtube. Their harmonies are incredible and tight.
Anthony, I came here for the awesome Ren reactions but now you've hooked yourself a Home Fry. Home Free doesn't do covers, they do upgrades! They can make you laugh sometimes, they can make you cry sometimes but they always impress. Here's a cheat sheet on the group: Adam Rupp, co-founder of HF and the awesome beatboxer. Tim Foust, bass. He has a five-octave range. Rob Lundquist (glasses and beard) Tenor Harmony. Austin Brown, Lead Tenor. Adam Chance, Baritone ( goes by Chance). Chance replaced Chris Rupp (co-founder) who left in 2016. Take Me Home Country Roads is phenomenal but you might also want to check out Dreamer, When A Man Loves A Woman, End Of The Road, One Man Band, American Pie featuring Don McLean, I Swear, Blue Ain't Your Color, Dive Bar Saints, The Driver, Crazy and Folsom Prison Blues. For some funny ones: Butts Medley, All About That Bass, Champagne Taste, Hillbilly Bone and their newest one, Ray Stevens' Mississippi Squirrel Revival. The absolute best review of this band I have ever heard. I usually get pissed by constant pauses, but yours were well timed and instructive. Amazing review.

I'm a huge fan of both Home Free and Pentatonix and I do LOVE the higher vocals, but when the bass comes in.....WOW goosebumps!!!!
The vocal scratch sound at 11:20 by Rob Lundquist started as a joke at the end of his recording session for the track. Their engineer really liked it, and asked Rob to keep it in the song. It adds a little bit of fun spice at the end -- quintessential Home Free. They take their music very seriously, themselves? not so much.
i see them any time they're within 300 miles of me, they never get repetitive or old! adam chance is doing the jaw harp, he uses overtones to get the sound so it's all vocal. adam rupp is the vocal percussionist and is considered one of/the best in the world. they bill themselves as country acapella but they can sing pretty much anything. they just dropped their cover of the old classic delta dawn and it is fantastic. they performed it in their concert line up last year
