These guys have range!! Austin is a high tenor who has 3 octaves, Tim is pushing SIX octaves, Adam often does great bass as well as being a tenor when he sings, Chance is a great bass as well as a tenor... Rob may not have multiple ranges, but you really should hear his Opera! Magnifique! Thanks for your reaction... looking forward to more Home Free.
Adam Chance (goes by Chance), and Tim Foust both have about a 5+ octave range. They both sing beautifully in the bass range but can sing equally well wherever they are needed. Adam Rupp is the brother of Chris Rupp (no longer with the group)He is the percussionist extraordinaire. They are two af the founding members of the group. Rob Lundquist is the mellow tenor voice (the beard). And last but not least is Austin Brown their high tenor. He can hit notes like a first soprano and still sing sultry low notes when called upon to do so. This group is so well rounded and full of talent that their following is very faithful. Mainly because they are as humble as they are talented. Teh more you get to know them the more you love them. Welcome to the rabbit hole. Enjoy the chase!
Austin has a 4 octave range, he is the high tenor. Tim the bass has a 5 octave range. Rob is the lead tenor. Chance is the baritone (but is actually a bass). That is why Yim has so many leads. Adam Rupp the beatboxer. Enjoyed watching your reaction to this song.
I love how much feeling Austen puts in his singing. And his belting is primo. Please do remember their names, "cause we Home Fries really appreciate reactors who do and get pissed when you don't. These guys are like our own kids and we get offended when you don't respect them. At any rate we thank you for your reaction and keep 'em comin'.
Great reaction. As Dagmar S said, this was done during lockdown…Austin was the only guy in the studio. The other guys filmed their videos at home and their magician of a video editor put it all together. The tv screen images were a clever way to present it, and as you say, it lets Austin be in the spotlight while the others provide the background vocals and percussion.
Austin nailed it. He gives himself completely here and also plays very well with the cameras. The great harmonies, deep bass and the unbelievably freaking good beatboxing/vocal percussion/vocal sounds finish it all off for me. I think it sounds perfect because of all the different beautiful voices. I grew up performing Percy Sledge which I already loved. Then came Michael Bolton's performance where I couldn't say it was better. But this one from Home Free certainly is.
This was one of their quarantine videos.Austin did an amazing job on this song. The group members Adam Rupp:Beatboxer Tim Foust :Bass ( long hair old video new videos short with grey ) Rob Lunquist:Tenor ( Beard & Glasses) Austin Brown: High Tenor Adam Chance aka Chance ( Baritone/Bass. Chris and Adam Rupp are the founders Chris left the group in 2016 and Chance replaced him.
@@ariesvixen853 yes this is a cover the originally sung byPercy Sledge in 1966 also it was covered by Michael Bolton 1991. Yes Austin is an amazing singer they all are and Adam Rupp is amazing Beatboxer he can imitate any sound
Home Free brought Percy Sledge's original back to life for a new generation. I don't know if you noticed a slight change in it. It was written after a bad break-up and Percy sings it in the past tense: "I gave you everything I had". Austin's lady was in the studio during the filming and he sings it in the present tense: "I'll give you everything I've got". A vocal coach clocked the end at 2 octaves above the tenor staff.
I am a Home Free FANATIC and Home Fry FOREVER!!! Just remember the guys this way = Adam, Tim, Chance, Rob and Austin. Adam Rupp is the only original member of Home Free which he started with his brother Chris. This is the incarnation now of the group and has been for nearly 8 years now. They have actually been to Belgium 2 times and I saw them both times. I live here too :). Great to see your reactions to them. Please keep it going. Thanks!!!
Austin did a fabulous job of this classic song. Loved Percy Sledge's version, but this was taken to another level. I think it is also better than Michael Bolton's version. And remember this was done during quarantine, so the guys weren't even together. The backing harmonies are great, along with Tim's bass. And Adam's vocal percussion is outstanding. Drummers have often commented on just how realistic his sound is. This is why these guys are my favorite a cappella group.
I just got back from vacation and was catching up on my Home Free reactors when i found you. I started at the beginning and am now subbing for more Home Free. These guys are not just amazingly talented, they are honestly really good humans. They love the fans as much as we love them and the music always comes first...no ego's. I am looking forward to more HF reactions from you.
Austin was in studio and singing to his GF, Amberly on the other side of the screen. As others have mentioned the rest literally “mailed it in” as it was done during Covid, which makes it that much more remarkable. Keep the Home Free coming, they never disappoint!
This was during Covid so I thought the use of the tv’s was clever. Yes, there are two Adams that’s why we call Adam Chance, Chance. Great song. Austin and Adam killed it. Rob (glasses) has a beautiful voice. He can sing opera. There’s a video where Rob and Austin sing opera. If you want bass, there’s a new song Chance wrote for a game called Skull & Bones. It’s epic and Tim goes really low. Fun! (You can really hear it in the live version) but the main video is great. Good reaction Anthony!🥰😃
They just came out with a new one " Skull and Bones" It's incredible!! Chance wrote this fr a video game! And yes " When A Man Loves A Woman " is one of their masterpieces!
The best part of this reaction is you laughing at the lyric, 'misery'. Hysterical! I heard this song at least a thousand times and I never realized how funny that one line is! Thanks for sharing. ;)
You are right Austin absolutely kills this song. He is insanely good. You wanted to know his range. Inklusive his growl and falsetto notes his range is 6! Octaves. Just like Tim by the way. He also has 6 octaves, just starts an octave below Austin. Home free does not hav a lead singer. Everyone takes the lead on different songs. I really enjoy your home free reactions. Thank you. If you like to hear Chance and Tim take the lead I recommend Brothers in Arms, a Dire Straits cover. It is amazing. Love to see your reaction to that
I love that they did this during quarantine and Austin had his girlfriend there with him for inspiration. He is a cutie, love when he wrinkles up his nose. 😊
The guy with the big beard is Rob Lundquist. He is also a tenor. Not quite as high as Austin, but he also has a nice baritone range. Chris Rupp left in 2016 for other projects. He is a baritone, mostly. The Rupp brothers started the band. It went through a lot of changes up until about 2012 or so and they went on to win the Sing Off's 2013 competition. Adam Chance is usually called Chance. He is a baritone that sings up into tenor and also down into bass. Tim Foust is the bass.
If you think Austin's range is impressive, you should hear Tim's. He can drop to G1 using subharmonics (which is enough to blow a commercial grade club woofer) and then go all the way to a high tenor. I read he has a 5 octave range.
For insane range, check out Tim Foust. He usually sings bass with the group, but his solo work really shows off his entire 5 octave range. He has videos on TH-cam for four of the twelve songs on his solo Doo Wop album where he sings ALL the parts: high, low, beatboxing, sound effects - everything! The four videos are for Come Go With Me; Will You Still Love Me Tomorrow/Stay; In My Room; and Since I Don't Have You. The whole album is incredible and definitely worth audio only reactions for the songs that don't have TH-cam videos.
Hoping you'll keep practicing your singing (wherever you choose to do it) -- your voice is so appealing! But, yes -- Austin's voice is amazing -- and (take it from a woman) when he wants it to, can be very seductive. He has a fully trained musical theatre background, and the control he has over that voice is phenomenal. Of course, any of the Home Free guys can take a lead and kill it. BTW, the second Adam is, in fact, called Chance. He's written a great new song HF just released yesterday that you would love -- very bass. I hope one of your patrons will request it -- "Skull & Bones." Still enjoying your reactions and comments, and your own catalog channel as well!
Love your reaction, thank you for sharing those incredibly wise words. If you have not heard it yet, please listen to Wayfaring Stranger by Adam Chance with The Hound and the Fox, Chance has a wonderfully rich voice that really shines in that song.
…. AND …. he’s sitting down! Now if range impresses you, check out Tim Foust’s ( the bass) cover/mash up of “Will 😅You Still Love Me/Stay”. Hang onto your headphones. He does ALL the vocal and sounds using multi tracks of himself.
Austin sings the LEAD VOCAL - NO one Vocalist in this gig .... just FOUR INCREDIBLE singers and one Tenor who is a BEAT BOXER extraordinaire !!! High Tenor Austin / Rob mid Tenor, Tim & now Chance are three register Bass / Baritone / Tenor singers.
This was during the COVID pandemic and they each filmed their part at home and Austin was able to go into the studio to record his part. It’s fantastic!
I subscribed mainly for your Home Free reactions. Ty for dropping one. Austin IS amazing, but Tim is mega amazing. He has a 5 range octave . High tenor/falsetto and lowest of bass. Watch Mayday for a hint. Another one is My Maria with Austin and Tim (not acappella). Tim does the high tenor and falsetto parts NOT Austin. It’s an amazing video. Thanks ❤ oh, another one is All About the Bass. He is a baritone but bass in this group amd Chance is the baritone. But Tim sings all the way to falsetto!!
Hey Anthony i really like what you said about the accountability so many times people think they are always right. And the other person is wrong. So i really like what you said.
Greetings from Estonia! Just wanted to give some suggestions to reactions: 1. Home Free "Auld land syne" - christmassy yes, but the best one.. 2. Dimash "Diva Dance" Bastau concert version definently. It will blow your mind. Originally from movie The fifth element with Bruce Willis. Made witj computer cuz human shouldnt be able to sing it. But yeah. Dimash isnt human 😅 3. Pentatonix - The sound of silence. Not the live version. Keep up the good work and enjoy.. 😊
Anthony, Anthony, Anthony... after your monolog about making changes from "intrinsic motivation" don't you EVER question your absolute command of English. If I hadn't heard you say a few times that you're not a native speaker I wouldn't have known. That was number one (just had to say it), number two: your love of music of all genres is so much fun to experience so thanks for sharing it with us!
This song is not a love song, it is about how a woman can mistreat a man when she knows he loves her and take advantage of him. This song was recorded about a ten minute drive from where I live, and the woman whom it was written about was known to be a real piece of work!
Now that you have an understanding what each of the guys can do you NEED to React to “MAYDAY” and “How Great Though Art” (note: the 2nd is a religious song)
Worth checking the SAME SONG on America's Got Talent audtion by Roland Abante which sounded different, voice quality wise, from this artist. Would be interesting with your reaction in comparison to this video. 😊❤
I watch a lot of your reactions, you enjoy so many different genres and get emotional with opera etc. What drew you to rap where music is minimal? Just asking as I'm old and just exploring TH-cam. Nana Karen 70 UK x

Awwww ty 🥰 you always look hot, but I'll still say it ❤️🔥
I’m just smiling … It’s a fantastic version 😍
When Austin looks at the camera I melt! He is amazing as each of these guys are!! Great salute to Percy Sledge!! Quarantine song!
Loved your smile at the key change! Awesome!

Watching your reaction again! This song makes me melt! A great tribute to the original by Percy Sledge!!!!🥰
They're so good at what they do it's easy to forget that there aren't any instruments playing, only their voices.
Great reaction. As Dagmar S said, this was done during lockdown…Austin was the only guy in the studio. Ok, pls help me.. just joined into these reactions... Are these the original singers?! I was thinking this was a cover
These vocals.. and remembering from when I grew up.. this seems very very next level from the original. So impressed by the singer ❤️🔥

Anthony smiling like he could not stop it even if he wanted to.
The Home Free guys are incredible. Cant wait to see them live again in September
I think this was the perfect song for Austin. I recall hearing that it took Tim quite a while to talk him into doing it.

Wow - the resemblance is uncanny! Loved your reaction, especially your smile😊
Austin killed this. The background harmonies are awesome. Percy ledge would be so very proud! Love your reaction!
Austin really killed it, just slayed this performance ! The backing vocals and beatboxing was so good ! Austin should be a superstar.

The Percy sledge song was my favourite one since decades , now it’s this cover , so amazing
And now for something completely different, Austin’s channel,Austin and Rob sing the aria Nessun Dorma from Turandot by Puccini.
Austin was in studio and singing to his GF, Amberly on the other side of the screen. As others have mentioned the rest literally “mailed it in” as it was done during Covid, which makes it that much more remarkable.
Keep the Home Free coming, they never disappoint!
so glad you reacted to this its deeper then u know
This is Austin at his best! and the other fellas backed him up so perfectly. One of my favorites of theirs. :)

Percey Sledge would be proud of Homefree ❤ beard guy is Rob and Rob does back up and is opera trained singer , Tim is bass and beatboxes too , … ❤
The last really high bit was done in a full falsetto. The rest of the song was in a high mixed belt, which is really hard to do that high.
Dude have you seen Rob & Austin sing Opera? Love to see a Reaction.

Anthony, wicked dry comments bro! Armed and dangerous humor.... such a great compliment to great reactions
You have a very beautiful voice. Have you done any radio? You would be awesome.
They are Adam Chance, Adam Rupp, Rob Lundquist, Tim Foust, and Austin Brown.
Really like your reactions, thanks!

I remember hearing Percy Tyrone Sledge singing this on the radio.
They did this during Lockdown ❤🎉
Sing Austin SING! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I love the way you react at the missery part. 😂😂
Keep practicing, not like you don't have the musicality! If Suga can do it so can you!!!!❤
Now that you have an understanding what each of the guys can do you NEED to React to “MAYDAY” and “How Great Though Art” (note: the 2nd is a religious song)
❤🔥🔥🔥

Your right they could be brothers
Tim had blue shirt, Rob pink, Chance beanie plaid shirt, Austin singing, Adam beat boxer
Tim Faust and Avl chaplen are doing the bass line
Austin just owned this song. Beautiful
You have a great speaking voice
You should see them live on their next European tour.
Austin maintained eye contact with his then fiance, now his wife. ❤
Wow briliant ❤
Mind effeing blowing.
They were separated because of Covid so that’s why you see each singer behind the TV’S/Screens.. it’s recording day..
Don't forget Home Free's ve4sion of How Great Thou Art or The Butts

This song was released in 1966 by Percy Sledge. Home Free did the song justice.
Has anyone ever told you that you have a radio DJs voice? Wow*
Check Adam's beat box solo. I would like to hear you analyze it. He is wild!
there's an opera song too
