He didn't get that much screen time on Hannah's season either. Everyone wants him to be the bachelor because of his smile. My guess is he doesn't have enough personality that warrants him more screen time. Think about it
Agree 100%! He's really entertaining in interviews and on social media, plus he was able to access and discuss his emotions on Hannah's season, so I'm not buying the line that he's just not "interesting" enough. His back story alone is more captivating than most of the Bachelors lately...

I didn't believe Blake. I think he must be so bored and seeing everyone coupled up made him lose it. I also liked that Dean came back at least he learned from his past mistake, I think he realized he shouldn't make decisions for others and that he deserves happiness too. But is a little too late? We shall see. Plus, good drama for us to watch.

She’s managed to mind f her way into making him fall for her. She’s fine. She’s in the drama because she put herself there and she wants to be there. She asked him on a date. She made a friendship rose alliance with him, which meant that he basically had to ditch a girl he had a connection with (Caitlyn) to stay loyal to this alliance.
I don't think that Blake is manipulative (as in long-range strategies). I think Blake is a "NOW" person. He lives in the moment. He feels very deeply. He plugs into the person he's with and seeks to connect with them in that moment. But he's like Dory the fish. When the next day comes (and a different person is standing in front of him), he becomes fully present in that moment. If he keeps relationships separate, he can tell himself that it all makes sense, and that he has integrity to the FEELING (of the day, of the woman in front of him). But when he had several women in the same place at the same time, he's conflicted, lacking integrity, and an emotional wreck. He has no ability to take the long view, to make a long-term strategy on what's important to him and what he values. Because is a right now person. Great at parties (and festivals). Not so great on long-term relationships. I really think he means what he says. IN THE MOMENT. I think he's very confused, and he has almost zero self-awareness and zero ability to get meta-analytical (see the big picture / analyze the situation / create an personality that has values that transcend the moment). I actually feel bad for him that he seems completely incapable of creating a framework other than "I feel intensely now, today."
Agree but how those two practically stay there for weeks on end and never connect with anyone baffles me.

Andrea Lauren Idk if this is what happened like with the editing, but like i think she got the closure she needed bc when she came to paradise she was like not focused on him. She’s like pursuing other things, and he was like continuing to like worry over it. She was the one saying “let’s co exist”. My perspective is that she got closure and wanted to go to paradise. It’s a great career move, possibility of love, and its a great opportunity.

Which is really sad - and maybe that's hindered his abilities to SHOW his vulnerabilities and emotions on TV. He was give plenty of chances to be able to SHOW that he was emotionally ready and was able to make connections - he had Caelynn, Sydney, Angela - yet somehow he could show ZERO emotional connection with them. Again, very sad about his child loss, but maybe national TV is not meant for Mike to display his emotions.

I also was really excited about the potential of Mike as Bachelor on Hannah's season, however, after watching paradise he basically didn't exist, I forgot about him multiple times and that's not good. I think if he were going to be the bachelor they would have played into him more. Additionally, while I love Peter there is nothing about him that screams this is your next bachelor. I feel like Derek might be our next bachelor based solely on paradise.

I like Caelynn but she always seems to be the damsel in distress waiting for a man to rescue her from her unhappiness. I know she is young but I’d love to see her grow in confidence and strength in herself. She should acknowledge that she has the power in this situation and not allow Dean to pressure her into a quick decision. A guy that dumps you then shows up a week later professing his love and asking you to give up on the potential of another good relationship clearly isn’t very stable in his emotions. Women need security and stability to flourish in relationships. I know Dean seems exciting but his emotions change with the wind. He isn’t going to change his ways anytime soon. She should use his own words “it’s a convince me otherwise situation” right back to him, make him wait and sweat it out while she decides. Not saying Connor is the better choice necessarily (well, no actually he is!!) but she needs to know her worth and own it whether she ends up in a relationship or on her own. Stop being the damsel in distress and be the heroine of your own damn story!!

Amy v You do have to watch LZ a time or two...but after that, her style becomes addictive! Her wordplay, (responsible!) drinking games, candid opinions, and total commitment to the campiness and drama inherent in the Bachelor franchise...all these keep me coming back.

Blake definitely wants to stay on paradise simple as that. He didn’t all of a sudden decide Kristina was the one I believe he couldn’t ask for a friendship rose this time because Kristina went on a date with Luke and he probably was afraid she would give it to Luke if he didn’t make a FALSE move. I can’t believe he would stoop so low that he would toy with Kristina again. The only reason he didn’t go on a date with Brie the following day is because he knew Paradise was ending soon and he didn’t want to further damage his reputation .He is a piece of crap.

It seems as though the producers chose the people with the most IG / TW followers because the producers believe that will lead to more viewers = ratings. People speculate SO MUCH about personality, demographics, dating history, age. But I think a lot of it is a social media numbers game. But that's no fun for speculate. Viewers would just do simple math to make their guess, and a calculator can do that. So we speculate. In vain.

I don't think Mike would be a good choice for the bachelor. He could NOT show his vulnerabilities and emotions on TV. He was given plenty of chances to be able to SHOW that he was emotionally ready and was able to make connections - he had Caelynn, Sydney, Angela - yet somehow he could show ZERO emotional connection with them. If were given a season as the bachelor - he would be BORING and wouldn't be able to connect with the girls and all the dates would just be awkward and fake.
You have to remember...we see what the producers want us to see. Who knows what goes on that they don't air.

This is just a thought that crossed my mind. I'm mixed race (black/white) and the white side of my family is from the Midwest and still weird about interracial dating. They're friendly towards my Indian fiancee and Filipino sister in law, but they are still VERY against it. Is it possible that he had reservations about dating someone who isn't white? Just a thought I had based on my own personal experiences.

I am frustrated by the comments saying Mike wouldn’t be able to carry a show as the bachelor. I agree that we have not seen a lot of further depth from Mike during this season of paradise but, that could come down to editing. And, to be honest have we really seen that much depth from many of the other contestants on paradise either with the exception of Demi and Derek? The scenes with the so-called solid couples forgo any meaningful and interesting conversations in favor of stupid drama and make out scenes. Furthermore, are we really going to argue that Mike J can’t carry a show yet men like Peter, Colton, and Arie can?! Peter is adorable and I love his family but I see him as no different than the other 23 previous bachelors we’ve had before. During Hannah’s season, all we heard him say was: “like seriously Hannah I have never felt this way before, seriously” and other empty, cheesy lines like that. Mike, on the other hand is fresh, unique, mature, and interesting. He would bring a new kind of energy we’ve never seen before. I wish this show was taking more risks and working on its abysmal lack of diversity. As a viewer, I hope to see more women of color, more plus size women, heck an older demographic otherwise, in my opinion, this show is just spinning its wheels.
Wynne Royer I 💯 agree! I’m sure there was more interesting scenes with Mike but because the producers want Peter, they wouldn’t focus on Mike in BIP so that they can say he wouldn’t be able to carry the show
Ashley I said on her podcast that her friends that were in Paradise mentioned that Mike made a lot of crude comments to the women. Chris Harrison also said in an interview that he saw the reality of Mike with a strange look on his face. Maybe Mike in reality was not who the producers or the fans thought he was ??? Maybe that is why he won’t be bachelor ???
