Well done video. In my case I was upgrading the mechanical drive to a SSD by cloning the original drive. Finding those screws under the rubber feet that is funny that HP does that. Wow. Thank you for the detail and the detail very good video.
Thankyou, this video helped me upgrade my similar old hp 15-ac021tx 1TB HDD to a 500Gb Samsung 860 Evo. Also followed your video on cloning the drive. Works so much better now. Many thanks. Wish I'd dive it years ago. I used a guitar pick to help pry off the back, but did break a couple of the clips. Moral of the story, take your time.
Very good guide. One word of precaution. Be very careful when taking the bottom casing off near the hinge. When we did it some small plastic broke off and a "rivet" holding the hinge broke causing the hinge to detach. P.S. The Acronis Clone tool that Crucial recommends doesn't clone a larger drive to a smaller one. We used the one by MiniTool-Partition Wizard instead and it worked.
Thanks for the quick right to the point video. These are definitely not high end laptops and mine was excruciatingly laggy with the HDD after 4 years of use. If it does i'd like to add the Intel Optane memory M.2 board. I have one in my desktop and BOY what a difference it makes in speed. If you have any information that can help me without me just tearing it apart please advise. Thanks a lot. Your video here will help me put an SSD inside it when I get that chance in a few months. Would LOVE if it did have the M.2 slot to add the Optane with that.
Thank you for the video. Can you make a video explaining when to change the hard drive? Also, what else might be needed to change out? Maybe we can do it all while we have it taken apart. I would appreciate any tips you can provide.

I know it's been 6 months since you asked, but if you have this model, open the case as shown. When you have it open and are looking at the inside, the RAM is near the front-right (it's the green rectangular circuit board thing you can see in this video). The RAM is held in place by a pair of clips, one on each side. You can just nudge the clips outward gently with your finger, and the RAM will slightly lift for easy removal. It pulls straight out. New RAM is just the reverse. There is a groove on the pin side that will line up with a little knob in the slot to make sure you have it right-side up. Gently push it in, then push down and let the clips click to hold it in place. There is actually an extra unused slot on the model in the video (and the one I have here), so you could simply add another stick without removing the one that's there. The laptop model I have is HP 15-bs045nr, which came with one 8GB stick of Samsung M471A1K43CB1-CRC model RAM (the RAM will have a sticker indicating the manufacturer and model number). The RAM in mine is rated for 2400MHz, but the laptop runs it at 2133MHz. Intel XTU might be able to boost the RAM speed, but I haven't tried it on that laptop yet. The processor probably can't take advantage of much faster RAM speeds, so you probably don't need to waste money on anything above 2133MHz or 2400MHz (you can google your CPU, and Intel has the compatibility and specs posted online). I would recommend getting a matching set if you plan to use both RAM slots for dual channel memory, so either find the same model as the RAM inside your machine, or buy a matching pair of new sticks. I hope that helps either you or maybe someone else who has the same question. If you're able to swap out the hard drive, then you shouldn't have any trouble with the RAM (it's not even screwed in, just held in place by the clips).
Older laptops were so easily accessible ram, battery and back cover. These new laptops are trickier and delicate

It's to make it difficult to fix yourself. So they get your money for sending it in for repairs, or replacing it altogether. It's a damn scam
That's so you take it to one of their "official" repair shops to have anything done with it.

Thanks for a good tutorial
