The point made in the video is very true. The Himalayas are made of rocks and soil. For example in Switzerland the Alps are made of granite. If you build a road or bore a tunnel in granite it will be more or less permanent. In the Himalayas many of the roads get washed away every year during the monsoon rains. Perhaps the time has come for the message that this area which has such a rich history of spiritual significance needs to be protected from further development. लोग उस भूमि का सम्मान और रक्षा करें जो देवताओं की है
We have to develop roads and tunnels to stop china from grabing our water bodies like origin rivers of Ganga, Yamuna etc or these rivers would be controlled by china, then no regular crops in west, north, east Bharat.
am from the state and i think since himalayas are the youngest mountains and in particularly in the uttrkhand the mountains are fragile and they do blast to make road i think u talked abt swiss yes i agree the rock is hard there and tunnel can be bored through the machine but since the state has been formed we have seen rampant constructions, the need new technology to build roads but should refrain themselves from building big projects like dams...

Instead techniques relevant to the Himalayas should be developed and used. Otherwise why spend millions on R&D. What would you secure if there's no river to save! China is a threat, disappearing glaciers and a threat to locals in the Himalayan border regions is a bigger threat.

It's upto the government to do it in a sustainable way but you can't deprive people of development cuz muh environment bullsht!
it's imperative to take this perspective of living in harmony with prakriti, as our ancestors did, and take "development" related steps accordingly. I hope the center learns from this and assigns bright minds the task of doing a thorough long term research into any construction activites in the regions mentioned.
the idea of digging up 4 tunnels through some of the highest passes in ladakh to ease the economy is also something that needs to be reviewed.
While giving sermons do think about people living there who still don't have proper roads and carry pregnant women or Ill people on shoulders.
When the whole fcking Tehri was submerged under water to make a dam and generate electricity that goes to all over india i didn't hear about environment crisis.
When it comes to development that benefits local population people suddenly everyone starts worrying about environment.
Burn down your metro cities and plant jungles over them if people are so concerned about roads and basic infra on hills.
The usage of the Bharat is something I loved apart from the knowledge which was provided😍 Shri Sai Deepak has been talking about the overdevelopment issue in the Devbhoomi(Uttarakhand) for the last 3 years atleast. I love this channel because it is one of the few in this UPSC industry which has a sense of civilizational consciousness.

Only Amit Sir can explain such a complex issue in a simplified manner. Hats off! Firstly, there shouldn't have been over construction of residences and hotels in a sensitive area like Joshimath. Fears about this zone were raised back in 1976 as well, but no one from either side of the political aisle paid any heed to it. It's like a time bomb ticking and now unfortunately, maybe, the end of Joshimath is inevitable. Yes, the strategic construction is also concerning and should be held responsible, but the magnitude of people visiting this place is also concerning. From six thousand to fifty six thousand, the demography of the place has also multiplied extensively, which proves that over construction on the slopes can be very dangerous. The government should take right TIMELY steps so that other zones aren't compromised.
Sir please make videos daily or atleast 2,3 videos a week on each and every National and International issues.

Visited Joshimath and Badrinath in 2017. Beautiful. Did some trekking above Joshimath with amazing views of Nanda Devi.

The most unfortunate thing is that even after knowing all these geological facts union Govt has been contacting such projects which doesn't care about the fact that how it's gonna impact the region....

@@PDMVPrayag Nobody is against of any border infrastructure development project, but development shouldn't bring any sort of natural calamities with it which shall impact the community and it's the government who should take care of it. Just go there and have look how peoples are homeless either or living with life risk, you would never understand this perhaps since you don't know the pain of loosing one's own home .
am from uttrakhand and had been to joshimath, problem is they still do blast to widen the road i think they should use modern technology to bore tunnels also dams and other things should be stopped in eco fragile zone
