    Chinese and American will be eyeing it for sure. Should deploy more columns of security in the area alongside the anti drone technology. Mandate only for indian usage of this new resource. Indian smartphone market is very big and we should have a battery reuse facility installed in all offline shops for reusing all the used lithium ion batteries for other usages. Also, lead acid batteries are reused too instead of wasting all these batteries.

    I think that India has made a mistake by publicizing the discovery of Lithium ore. India should have quietly mined it and processed the ore. Already, the terrorsts have issued warning against mining of Lithium. On the top of that, the US will meddle in Lithium mining and processing. Further, this also becomes another incentive for Pakistan to recommence its harrengue about Kashmir.

      It costs a lot of money and technology sharing with other countries to mine lithium, both of which are lacking in this country...at the end of day it has to be an economically viable operation. Lithium battery technology is already on the decline, some European countries have decided to ban Lithium battery vehicles. The limitations of this technology is becoming evident now with increased usage

    5:59 the graph shown is not correct. Chile has the largest reserves of 9.3 mTons followed by Australia with 6.2 and India comes at close 3rd with 5.9 mTons.

Only suggestion in this video is that the deposit is not completely explored yet by the GSI and has clearly mentioned as RESOURCE. There is a lot of difference between RESERVE and RESOURCE Geologically. It's economic viability and feasibility is to be checked before mining. Hence, kindly work on this before spreading incomplete information.

    Nuclear power is possibly the closest thing we have right now to "clean" energy. Most other renewables tend to have hidden environmental costs. Not many will touch on the Lithium mining process.

    It is great news that india found Lithium.
    5.9M Tonnes might not be obtained, as it is just inferred (which is preliminary exploration). Still have to confirm through indication, measure & probable.
    But it also has some geopolitics tension, environmental concerns and the region is unstable.

    I totally agree with you. I think clean water is far more precious than Electric Vehicles, and I'm amazed that "First World/Developed" countries don't see it! But then I realize they don't pollute their own waters by extracting vast quantities of lithium because they IMPORT it, so I understand why they don't care!

    EDIT: ALSO, extracting too much water from the ground causes giant potholes to appear all over the place and even cause minor earthquakes. Chile is already experiencing this problem. And as always, those companies will do anything to shift the blame to "natural causes"

      It happened in one of the districts in a hilly state recently ( joshimath ) . The pothole formed due to excessive gw extraction collapsed and damaged the surrounding area.

    HariOM Amit, Excellent contents of the video. Li - Lithium extraction is a measure environment issue as plenty of waste of water to extract salt from under ground. Hydrogen is the much better for environment than Li extraction.

    I believe they found it long back and is the reason why Article 370 was removed to make use of it. Actually i was expecting this to hear from Amit sir at one point but, I believe this is the reason the article was removed to make use of that Lithium.

    We are now mostly using Lithium Polymer batteries, Li-ion especially in phones after Galaxy note 7 switched to Li-Po batteries.
