But I haven't heard of any studies proving that standpoint. Lately I'm only hearing stuff like "it could cause depression, tiredness, etc" - but I do not feel any sideffects besides not being stuck with cables anymore :P Correct me if I'm wrong tho! :)

I had the Z5 Premium, and the XZ Premium, and am on an XZ2 Premium. I had the first 4K phone, the first 4K HDR phone. And they all have 800ppi which is higher than this one.

I have had my SONY Xperia 1 mark ii for about 1 week and I absolutely love it. The screen is stunning, and the cameras really are fantastic. The two very loud front facing stereo speakers are a lovely bonus too. I could not be happier with this phone.

I've always had sony and loved having crazy cameras videos and 4k when my friends don't even realise sony have phones or flagships, had them since Walkmans all the way to my current Xperia XZ2 Premium. I so happy that they have released something that is being looked at by the best tech guy in the business UnboxTherapy!!! A phone alot more people are going to look at!!
Trust me when I say the standard in ear headphones that come with the Sony phones that inself is better than most £80 headphones u know. People just don't see a item but instead they fall for marketing and go with Samsung and iPhone

"Fall for marketing" samsung have worked their ass off, and for the start of the touch screen era were in iPhone shadow. So I don't think it's about falling for marketing, Samsung have got some serious hardware and beautiful design. Sony needs to go bezel- less and that fingerprint sensor should have been in display. Everything else looks good, I'd be happy to see Sony back!
I see these comments and dont get it. Like, I have the xperia 1 ii, its my daily driver, I love it. But the other day I did hold and play around on a mates iphone 11 pro, i can totally see why people go iphone. The UI and screen were incredibly, a solid notch above the sony, and it felt much more premium in the hand. Honestly, I preferred it in almost every way, but I like the photo pro app on xpera.

NOTHING beats having DUAL front firing speakers. Even the Asus ROG Phone III has dual front firing speakers. THAT alone is worth having some bezel at the top and bottom.

Nothing beats the experience of watching TH-cam videos in 4k. People don't understand that the higher the resolution, the higher the bitrate and I've never seen any other phone play videos as clean and lifelike on the XZ Premium

If Sony finally figures out how to consolidate their power in gaming, photography, audio, and TVs in one phone, and use stock Android, they'd probably have the best phone arguably.

Lew geeking over this phone reminds me of the old channel when he really cared about the device in front. The passion in this video man, I love it!
Seems like Lew is going to have fun. He's a real camera nerd and this phone is perfectly aimed at it's intended demographic. Another channel called "Art of photography" really likes this phone too. SONY is doing great tackling it's target audience.
Really fun to see lew be this genuinely enthusiastic about a product he's reviewing, its refreshing to watch
I truly hope they get the attention and sales they deserve with this phone. Xperias are very well built, and if not for their apparent obsolescence in other areas, I would have considered to try switching from Galaxy Notes to them. The fact that they're focusing on cameras reminds me of the Sony Ericson days, when they had a line of "cameras with a phone embedded" philosophy.
If I were in the market for a new phone (and had the dough to remorselessly buy it), this one would be in my list.

It's still a big capacity, particularly with Sony's battery optimisation.
My Galaxy Note 9 lasts about as long as my Xperia XZ Premium did.
The Note 9 has 4000 mAh and the XZ Premium has 3300 mAh and had a 4K screen which says a lot.
Now we need Sony to introduce Walkman technology to boost audio quality... Then we have a winner 💯💯💯💯

The amount of pixels doesn't determine photo and video quality

Huh I was really excited about the Xperia 5 too, I knew I was going to hate it for some of its quirks, and I do, but I also really love it, for the screen, the desing and the battery management.

Let me tell you something about the PlayStation feature on Sony phones. I own an Xperia 1 right now but two years earlier it was an XZ premium on which I connected my PS4 through the app. I could stream the PlayStation on my phone and this allowed me to play on my ps4 whilst it was downstairs and I was in my room in the middle of the night. I stared at online enemies in Cod WW2 through an immensely small screen in comparison to a regular tv screen. Meanwhile the streaming to my phone felt like there was no delay at all. I was using the PS4 controller and connected that to my phone. Man that really opened up my eyes, how a phone can basically be a mini PS4

Watching this on my Nokia 9 Pureview, which knows its days of having an active SIM card are numbered. This phone looks like a true "mobile camera", an endeavour which proved too arduous for Nokia. Last Xperia phone i had was the Z5P, can't wait to get back into Sony-land. Glad to see that the company finally got its different arms to collaborate on their mobile initiative, it's about time.

This phone is so good. With a headphone jack and an sd card slot.
And the fact that the SD card tray doesn't need a pin to open it.
Something many people in my circles have find to be very odd.
Yet using Sony myself, I find the need of Sim pin tool, the odd and unnecessary step.
I'm personally impressed that Sony puts the fingerprint scanner at the side. It's easier and efficient.

Tbh I would like to give Sony another go but the last 2 phones and some Xperia phones in my family have all had this same problem, where it turns really hot sometimes when used, kinda normal the first few months then it starts dying slowly over time untill when the phone gets hot even fully charged it goes 20-15-10% then die without warning.

@diki diki so true.... The current CEO has done an incredible job with Sony. He has made so many good changes, and he is working like crazy to restore Sony to its innovative peak.
They still do release but they're not as anticipated by a lot compared back then (ex. Xperia Play ♡). Everyone's expecting Sony to up their game with the camera of their smartphones but they wouldn't do it the past years since it would bring conflict with their sales of cameras. I dunno, that's just based on an article I read like last year or so.
Actually there's a lot to expect from Sony since they do movies, cameras, consoles, and a sht ton of other stuffs so yea, their smartphone department was whack in some previous years.

Yep, the best phone for reading of e-books, my eyes are never tired because letters are so fine and crisp, better than on paper. Still works, and battery last a day. And I hade some cool underwater 4K videos with that too. Nobody believes that it is almost 6 y old already.
The only way to get me to watch a 23 minute tech review is by including a Sony product. 💯

To build products with quality is something there is the in Soul of Japanese people. Also in food, restaurants. Japan is the countrie with more Michelin Stars restaurant in the world.

I don't get it. Many people are complaining about the price of this phone. The Samsung Galaxy S20 Plus is similarly priced to this one, and yet everyone still says that this phone is overpriced when the S20 Ultra is way way more expensive.
