    Most important, the CP4 pump is out and the CP3 is back in.

      I'm new to diesels. Looking at trading my 2019 1500longhorn for one of theese but probably a 2020. Is their any reason a person can't just change out the pump for a more reliable one?

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      You don’t really need to, just run fuel injector lubricator a couple times a month, get your diesel from a truck stop since they typically have more filters, and make sure it’s a #2 diesel or 50 cetane rating or higher 👍🏾

    • @frogger2011ify
      @frogger2011ify 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@JB_WhoWork I'm Canadian I don't think I have much options with grades of diesel. It's hard enough to find high octane Gass. But I'll definitely check the local stations of anywhere it'll be available at the co-op. The lube is nice to know can definitely deal with that

    • @frogger2011ify
      @frogger2011ify 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mctrician2 you are sooooo wrong. First off if you want to talk Gass we have 3 "grades" grades are not better or worse octane raiting is how tough it is to detonate the fuel air mixture higher octane for higher compression engines. Our fuel is not any better then the USA in terms of cleanliness and it really depends on how clean the fuel stations tanks are. Bio fuels are harmful to most engines and we have alot of bio fuel mixes in Canada. If your from Europe you would have access to 6 grades up to 97 octane my Jetta for example needed 95 octane so I had to add octane booster to "premium.gass". In Canada we have one grade of diesel, the only regulation on it is it has to be ultra low sulfer, cetain raiting isn't provided and ranges terrible from fill up to fill up. Additives are pretty much all Sudo science and placebos.

    • @frogger2011ify
      @frogger2011ify 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mctrician2 oh ya, and I might currently live in the "boonies" I'm a oil patch welder in Alberta I have as much access in fact more then I had when I lived in the city of Vancouver. Theirs a lack of diesel in the big cities

    Ford seats shake a bit as well. Can’t feel it but you can see the passenger seat shaking a bit. Thank god they went the cp3. Not sure how the resale will be on the 19 and 20s with the issues they have had???

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Good to know, I think Chevy trucks don’t have any wobble and it’s probably in part to that independent front suspension.

    Can you help me out with a recommendation. I’m about to pull the trigger on an order for a 2500 mega cab with the 6.4L and rear air suspension. I’ll be using it as a daily driver and a weekend tow vehicle. My max tow weight would be around 14,000 lbs. my dealer is pushing me to get the 3500 with Cummins, but I don’t really want the maintenance or rough ride of a 3500 with diesel. I live in Michigan so no major hills, but plenty of horrible roads. The 2500 with air suspension seems to cover what I need without over spending. Thanks. I really enjoy your channel. 👍🏻

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hey Jeff, I think you should consider a 3500 with a 6.4L, 4.10 rear, and air suspension. Only reason why I say that is because a 14k fifth wheel will most likely have a pin weight around 3000#’s and a 3500 allows you to pick up an additional 1300#’s +/- of payload. The 3500 will ride slightly rougher but you won’t regret it. Your other option is a slightly lighter trailer around 10k and the gas 2500 would be perfect 👍🏾

    Now if they can just put a reliable transmission in their diesel trucks, and just have one engine and transmission and not have different levels depending on the model. You’re absolutely right about the power, can’t tell a difference. I felt like my 16 had better performance than the 20. I haven’t driven the 21.

I added several options/packages that brought the final price to 68K dollars. Off road pkg., premium lighting, deluxe buckets, rear view camera, 12" Uconnect, bed utility group, Hemi, 4:10 anti slip rear, 220 alternator, Level C pkg, Crew cab, 4x4, Sun roof, flat black side steps, and the final price included my state of CA taxes, licensing and documentation fees. I did get the Delmonico paint as well after seeing this exact video. If you're in the market for a new truck, try Jim Doran CJDR in McMinnville, Oregon. @JB_WhoWork  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This truck is the same color as your Camaro in your thumbnail. I don’t recall seeing a blackout Chevy truck but I’ve seen several GMC Sierra’s with blackout packages... Does Chevy have one available on higher trims?

    • @matthewanderson9912
      @matthewanderson9912 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes it is! My car is kind of a weird paint job but it’s cool. The front is that maroon color and then about halfway of the doors it kinda fades/splatters into a deep purple/blue color.
      For 2021 they do. They offer a Z71 Sport package that gives painted bumpers and grille crossbar. Black grille inserts with black badges and either black 18” or 20” wheels. Black painted mirror caps and door handles. It’s available on LT or LTZ and even on an LT it comes with full LED lights that was previously only available on LTZ and High Country. It’s restricted to just a few colors (I know for sure red, blue and white) but it’s an awesome package and I’m seriously considering trying to trade for one sometime this year.
      They also have the Midnight package now too that is same package but a black truck only.

    Great review but as someone that pulls a lot I will say you are wrong about it being best for light towing. I love my 2016 ram but absolutely hate you have to pay more to upgrade to get power matching the others and really hurts ram I think. My 2016 has 160k miles and pulls 15k pounds regularly and on the occasion has been loaded well past legal limits. My truck has performed amazingly with zero breakdowns(except front wheel bearings) and is totally stock, the regular transmission is also a little harsh and much more in its element when towing. More rough than an Allison Chevy going to church but smoother than an Allison with a heavy load. Hell I towed a 45ft 9k lbsgooseneck with a 7k lbs tractor and 11k lbs skid steer 4 hours in southern heat and tranny stayed cool. Most people buy these things for their campers and there is not a camper made that I would not tow across country and no you do not need a duelly

  • @jdpower5552

    Why do we need higher hp/tq numbers on these lit duty trucks, any brand for that matter? The medium duty 4500/5500 trucks are detuned for longevity, at least on the Duramax. so why not have a version of these trucks that optimizes for mpg just like they have a version optimized for HO on the RAM? Still going to have plenty of power to haul, most ppl don’t haul at 35k lbs.

    • @JB_WhoWork

    • @MrGoldMember
      @MrGoldMember 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Price of heavy duty trucks, tire and shock selection has a lot to do with it. I have my 18' 3500 DRW switched to Coopers for the high silica/low rebound and that has helped dramatically with road vibrations; Bilsteins help too since Mopar shocks might at best last 8k miles for ya, mine where shot on a new truck when I swapped them out. If you want comfort, get a Chevy, and outside of their 45-6500, Ram is the only one with air suspension/assist. Yes you can add that, but its nice to push a button to drop my 5th Wheel and keep the legs the same height, makes hookup a breeze.

  • @ethanlegler6403
    @ethanlegler6403 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I know this is an old video, but I can pretty much guarantee they didn't up the hp and torque on the standard output because they know that the 68rfe can't take much if any more before they start running into huge issues in stock trucks. They've always had the excuse of "the 68RFE is a fine transmission stock, its only when you add hp and torque that issues occur and stuff breaks." But now they're at the tipping point where they cant add cause they're getting to the levels that cause the transmission to need to be beefed up in the aftermarket.
    They need to get rid of the 68rfe and do it soon, otherwise they're just going to keep falling behind Ford and GM in the hp and torque wars for the 2500's.
