What I like about this review is that it's from the perspective of an owner, who really seems to look at the practical pros and cons of the truck. It doesn't sound like a RAM brochure, which I can get at any Dodge/RAM dealer.

No! Many _"reviewers"_ try too hard NOT to say anything that might upset the manufacturer; and end up sounding like their reading from a marketing brochures for the product they're reviewing.
Others, while they may give positive and negative opinions about things they notice, they still come off as being mealy-mouthed.
Those who give us a thorough, genuine review are very much in the minority.

I’m a gm guy and I thought the bumper steps were a gimmick when they first came out. Once you own a truck with them and use a truck with out them, you realize they are useful. The bed side steps on the gm HD’s is a must in my opinion and I’m 6’3”.

Great review. I would use the block heater despite not "needing" it simply because it makes starting easier on the cold engine. In addition, the heater will blow hot air much sooner on a cold morning. Love the Cummins powered Rams.

I'm in New York...Long Island where it doesn't get nearly as cold as Canada but still plug in my 18 Ram every night. I bought a wireless wifi for the outlet and will turn on the heater an hour or two before needing to drive. It can be programmed to turn on a few hours before the morning drive. Save electric and its better for the engine.

One hate you probably haven't noticed yet until you marry that fifth wheel. Is the fuel tank capacity I have a 19 3500 Big Horn and it has the 32 or 35 gallon tank. The truck average 10 MPG when towing. I'm looking now before seasons change to upgrade to the 50 gallon tank. Like to go longer distances without fueling. S&B make a 50gal fuel tank. keep up the videos.

Great looking truck. I looked at a BigHorn dually a couple of years ago. I definitely like the 2019 and newer Ram trucks. For now I am enjoying my 3500 HD 4x4 SRW 2018 GMC. My truck tows our 35' 5th wheel with ease. Hard for me to go to a Ram just because of the GMC dealership I do business with. Great video. Also enjoyed your one on the buying process. I drove Jeep GC’s for 25 years, but after driving Ram pickups for rentals the past several years decided to buy my first truck. Always wanted a Cummins diesel, so after months of searching coast to coast I found the 3500 Longhorn LTD HO Cummins I wanted at a dealer in NC. At the time many dealers were charging a 6-10K market adjustment, I was able to get it for less than sticker price. I use it as a daily driver and to drive north from FL several times per year for business. I understand your comment on comfort. After driving 12 hours straight through I feel like I just drove to the store & back. Haven’t done any towing yet, but looking for a fifth wheel hitch & a RV to start. Still running my own business but plan to start doing some travel in near future. Will probably rent the 5th wheel for the first several trips. Keep up the great work. Love all the videos you guys do & look forward to more!

Great truck 👍. I have a Ram 1500 Big Horn North Edition that I bought in November. I went with the 5.7 Hemi. It has a 1 inch factory lift so the bed is high. My solution is to sit on the tailgate and spin myself around. I’m 53 and not as limber as I used to be and 6’2 250 lbs. The height doesn’t really bother me yet. So far I can’t really think of anything I don’t like about my truck. Mine has 4 auto and a rear locker which are features I wanted. I drive a 2006 Dodge Ram 3500 with the 5.9 Cummins. 4WD SRW SLT
    Loves:
-Solid front axle reliability and engagement
-Simplistic truck with manual transfer case
    -5.9L Cummins reliability, no DEF/DPF
    Hate:
-On a quite night you can hear the rust creeping further into the sheet metal (and i undercoated every year)
-48 re Transmission adjustment bands, weak point of all the 48RE's
-X2 on the no-step tailgate and bed height.

Here is my take on this truck vs. Ford's F250 6.7 Tremor for off road:
    Pros:
    • LED Projector headlights
    • Great analog gauges including a DEF gauge!
    • Best HMI display with 12" screen - nobody does it better!
    • Best interior, design, construction, layout, fit and finish!!!
    • Cummins 6.7 inline configuration
    Cons:
    • No tailgate step
    • Ugly sidestep vs what Ford has for the Tremor
    • Overall exterior styling not as clean & strong vs Ford's last iteration pre-2023
    • Single exhaust outlet looks cheap vs dual tips on the Ford
    Great review on personal experience!

Great owner review of their own truck! I've got an 08 F250 crew cab, shortbox, 4x4 with powerstroke. It has a 4x4 auto mode, I hate it because it runs off of a vacuum system, so engagement isn't always smooth in auto mode. I wish it was the 6 speed manual instead of 5 speed auto. Aside from those items, I love the truck and its capabilities.

Team Truck King, I assume you are strictly tracking fuel consumption so you might as well include those numbers in your periodic reports. This overview also reminded me that once upon a time cars were just as customizable as today's pickups. I hope the idea of catering to specific consumer choice does not evaporate for truck buyers the way it has for car buyers.

I will report fuel consumption - and as far as customization, don't worry the OEMs will continue to offer more and more ways to make a truck your own.

Thank you for the HONEST review with pluses and minuses. From Minnesota so COLD rings a bell, block heater, old school used to put cardboard in front of the radiator (remember to take it out in Spring). Reminded of older cars where grills were like Venetian blinds - lovered open and closed - some by thermostat some by pull cable on the dash.

David Hi I enjoyed your review. I have a 2019 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, 4WD, Long bed with the Cummins engine. I love the truck. I went form a 2005 F350 to the Ram and was blown away. I have two things I wanted to mention. I'm 75 and my way of dealing with the high bed is to step on the rear wheel and pull my self up, it works. The other is towing and weight. The problem withe a 3/4 ton is if you have a diesel and 4WD they add a lot of weight and all that weight comes off the payload. I have a 5th wheel that is around 10,000 lb loaded and was shocked to find I was close to overweight.

prepping myself for my first diesel pick up buy. been a sports car guy all my life, currently a Class A trucker and with my 2 year old boy it just makes sense to get a pick up rather then a mustang. All the semis ive ran have had Cummins under the hood. Ive never had a single issue with the cummins in my semis, so id imagine in a pick up it would be just as good.

I have a 3500 4x4 dually. It's very tall. I'm a 60 year old woman and the way I get into the bed is to leave the tailgate up. Step on the dropped down area at the trailer hitch and swing over the tailgate and into the bed. Push anything I have in the bed toward the gate, then step out the same way I got in. Drop the tailgate and easily grab whatever is there. Also my ex boyfriend has a 2016 2500 diesel, bought new. He had to have it modified to a "competition" package because of the high cost of filters/filter changes, (I think he said $1500 every change) and his remote start quit working after a couple of months.

The Aisin transmissions are pronounced ‘eyes-in’ not Asian. Even though they are produced by a Japanese company. They make great transmissions. They used to put them in many Jeeps like the Wranglers and Cherokees, and some of the very early Grand Cherokees. I’d prefer them over any Chrysler built transmission. Absolutely bulletproof. I wish my 04 Grand Cherokee had an Aisin instead of the weak 42RE.

I keep a small step ladder in the bed to get it and out. I set it back of my fifth wheel hitch near the tailgate and it’s much safer than the GM step on the bumper and I think it’s safer to have my hand on the bed when I step up into the bed versus Ford who has the mid step. Still a great review!

I had a 2014 RAM 3500 Laramie with the 6.7 diesel. I loved the truck but recalls were killing me. I live 60 miles from the nearest dealer and constantly taking it in and finding rides back and forth just wore me down. When I traded it in it still had 4 recalls pending waiting for parts. Hoping your not having the same issue.

I had a 2017 Ram 3500 Megacab Longhorn Diesel. I loved that truck but the regular maintenance costs started to outweigh the need to keep it because I wasn't towing enough to justify the cost. I actually ended up trading it in for a 2020 1500 with the Offroad package, and so far I really like it. It will tow over 11000 pounds, which is plenty for the two or three times a year I tow long distance. The wife loves the 1500 more as well because she hated the rough ride as a passenger. I just thought it rode like a truck should.

I thoroughly enjoyed your review! I own a 1500 lonestar (texas bighorn) and love it! Although I cannot afford the 2500 just yet, the Cummins with night edition with a few added features would make it my dream; your truck is everything 🤣. With prices skyrocketing I have no intentions of getting anything for a while. Even then when it comes time to, I would honestly debate looking at used--depending on pricing and interest. I had an issue with an oil leakage 5 months ago that caused my truck to be in the shop for half a year. Even when I tried to trade in with amazing trade-in value, even the basic models were ridiculous.

I drive a 2021 Dodge Ram 2500 ?cummins. I ordered it new so I’m responsible for everything I do or don’t like, all the dings, etc. It has 270,000 miles on it and, honestly, it needs a lot of work. I’m finally at at point where I can replace it so, wow, a lot has changed and I’m really glad I started researching which truck I should replace it with. My old truck would be great for anyone who can fix their own, the engine is very healthy, the tranny, needs help. So, I thank you for sharing new upgrades. Especially given i do not have deep pockets.😊. My son is trying to point me toward a Ford, I’m not too fond of them, but thought I should check them out.

Good Review. I have almost the same truck only mine is the gray color night edition. To comment on an easier way to utilize the truck bed. For my truck, I basically got the same step bars that you have but I got the longer ones that go from wheel to wheel. Because our wheels are black, it blends in nicely. I want to say it cost like an extra 50 bucks total for the longer ones but what a difference that has made in being able to use that step on both sides to get into the truck box up next to the back glass. The second thing I did was I got a truck stepladder that straps to the inside of your tailgate. So when you drop your tailgate and you want to get into your truck bed, the ladder folds left onto the ground. It’s only about an inch thick and if I remember correctly it can hold a lot of weight. It’s so easy to use that it only takes 5 seconds to fold it into place and set it and then my five-year-old uses it to climb into the truck box. That ladder cost me 150 bucks on Amazon. My only pet peeve is how rough the ride is when I don’t have my trailer back there. These trucks ride better when something heavy is attached to them.
But I do love the truck though my next one will have the ram air Suspension system to better smooth out the ride when there’s no load on the back.

FYI: The truck bed corner step is a aftermarket part that the OEM's purchase in bulk and sell. I did a quick Google search and the first one to pop up was a little over US$200. Doing a little more looking I found Bestop and AMP Research make them. I don't believe GM offers them; but RAM, Toyota, Nissan, and Ford do offer them.
