Well for me the older firmware was brighter and more complete. I now have to find a better sounding earbuds because Apple diminished the sound quality for my hearing. I understand they want to provide more options howver the quality should not go down.

Basically, they are the opposite of helpful! In my case, it has led me to abandon AirPods completely as my earphones. At their inflated price point they are too inconsistent and just not worth it. Give them a wide berth would be my advice! Essentially they launched earlier AirPods versions in beta-development form and depended on public feedback to “improve” the product. So Apple these days! Poor Steve Jobs must be turning in his grave!
Im facing an error on loud noise reduction on my airpods pro 2.. it keep detecting loud noise while in transaparency mode even there isn’t ant loud sound.. Any solution ?

With 6F8 the sound graphs for usb-c and lightning looked almost identical yet with the new firmware, the graph differs quite a bit. Your stance is that their sound signatures are more similar now. 🧐 to me it seems they were more similar before the new firmware. I definitely respect your analysis, perhaps I’m missing something.
Thanks! They weren't that similar before. Lightning 6F8 and USB-C 6F8 had a larger gap, but measured after the latest firmware, both versions are more similar now. This means one of them had a bigger change, in this case, the Lightning version.
I just got the update and tested it by calling my girlfriend and after 3 long years, it seems like Apple finally fixed the issue with the terrible mic quality. She couldn’t tell the difference between the AirPods and using my phone’s microphone. God bless.
Curious as I didn’t realise my lightning versions had updated but the day I used them before knowing later on in the day, the noise cancellation felt noticeably better - I use mine in the same gym 3 days a week and unless I’m imagining it, this update had a very noticeable change for NC.

So the upgrade really improve the microphones during outdoor calls? This is the buggest issue of APP2 in my opinion. I didn’t have the chance to upgrade yet.

version 7A294 has not yet been launched by Apple globally In my region, I haven't received the latest AirPods Pro 2 firmware on iOS 18, it's still version 6F8 😢

@@knasgrimas amazing, active noise cancellation is insane. And as an audio engineer i can confirm that the audio quality is pretty close to studio quality for the price point. mad comfortable too and the spatial audio is amazing

Mine did this! I had to edit the settings on the AirPods setup in iPhone Settings to turn this option back on again, you can only do this when the AirPods are connected.
On my iPhone 13 mini running IOS 17.6.1 my AirPods Pro 2nd Generation (USB-C), model A3048, I'm getting firmware version 0A0..... strange but it wont update to latest and also is the first time I saw that "0A0" version. I wouldn't search for anything about software update, if last few days I didn't had a connecting / disconnecting issue with them. Is this a bug ??? is there a way to downgrade or upgrade to a version that is mention on apple website ????
As for my USB C ver, it sounds lesser in bass as compared to 6F8. I prefer the old firmware. Newer firmware is just sharper in vocal and lesser bass. Not sure if other people experience this.
Aaron bro you have to do test when ios 18 is out which is september 16th. Otherwise theres no difference because new firmware features it can work with ios 18 not 17. So please do it when public release so its really makes no sense review with ios 17.
The Airpod firmware is fully released and not in any beta. The Device he used was with the IOS 18 Beta, not 17. Even though 18 is still in beta, this should have no effect on the features and sound quality of the headphones. if 5 days from now the new update has more features that weren't already made know or improved upon, ill take back what ill formally apologize.

Call quality has gotten so much better
The sound on my lightning version got better in my ears. Less crisp and really became fuller, more enjoyable and fun sounding

Try adjusting it in Headphone Accomodations on iOS first. They have some compensations you can try.

People wanted more bass. So they gave it more, which muffled mids. This is how they force people into the 3 version coming soon.
My only gripe is I can’t understand how IOS has a trash EQ but the Mac has functional one.

I enjoy the sound more after the update on my lightning pro 2’s. Especially with spatial audio enabled. Which I really didn’t care for before.

You have to be running iOS18/beta and make sure voice isolation is turned on.

Isolation mode is much quieter when it comes to background noise, the regular mode has clear artifacting and crunching in the background

I seem to have much more bass, almost too much for me.
My biggest complaint with AirPods Pro's is they aren't loud enough, and I've tried everything. So, I don't even use them for music.
Use with Spotify and use eq they can get pretty loud

The main point of this video is to test if there are impacts to their performance as is. When iOS 18 drops, there will be another update.
