Russell is too funny. he needs to be by your side every step of the day. Laura, the greenhouse is looking great, I can't wait to see all the amazing planting you are going to do in the short weeks ahead. 💐🌻🌱
☕️Good day Laura and GA friends. I’m an apartment dweller so no longer enjoy a garden space, so I am very thankful to Laura for all she does to show houseplants and succulents. This is so fun, and the bowl adds a beautiful memory. I hope you all have a wonderful start to a new week. 🌷🌸🌱
I always start my sweet peas in inner roll of toilet paper pacer in a plastic container with drain holes. I have regular potting mix in the bottom and seed starting mix on top and I’m that way I can keep them in containers until I can plant them outside. But what I discovered this spring is that I have self seeded sweat peas over wintering in my flower bed!
It’s really so pretty when you didn’t cram everything in and you left room between the plants to see their full beauty. The black rocks were lovely addition.
It makes me happy when you said. “I’m not starting any pepper or tomatoes this year cuz I don’t wanna”. Yes!!! Normalize doing exactly what you want, always!!!
I don’t know how you keep track of everything you’ve got going. I’m sure happy your younger and enjoy what your doing. Can’t wait to see where everything is going to end up.
Good morning, Laura ☕️ Those semps look fantastic in that old, rusty pot! 🙌🏻 I love heirloom treasures like that. That greenhouse is bustling!! Well done! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Laura: RUSSELL! Russell: whut? 😸😸gotta love those kitties!! LOVE LOVE LOVE the succulent arrangement... i sometimes use fireglass as a top dress, too... kinda fun and shiny around the base and so many pretty colors in it... and look at that greenhouse full of plants!! wow!!! so much fun! happy days are here again (well, almost)... my thoughts are with all those affected by the horrible weather and tragedies in the midwest and east coast... 🥰❤thanks for the videos! 🥰❤
Greetings, Laura, from Windermere, Florida zone 9b 🇺🇸 Those Cactus are beautiful and I love the open look 👩🌾🌵 Happy Gardening Everyone 👩🌾 👍 💗 ❤Peggy❤
I’m too big of a “helicopter waterer” that I kill all my succulents and cactus. I am so envious of that gorgeous semp planter! We just got another 8-ish inches of snow last night here in norther Utah. I am so over it this year! We’re almost in April and have gotten more snow than I ever remember in 46years! I love watching your videos, they give so much sunshine to our continuous freezing snowy days here. Thank you for sharing your sunshine with all of us!
Sempervivum would lover a helicopter waterer. I won't share the truth about their growing conditions because they run wild. They'll die if you water them like that the whole year but where they come from has a wet season.
These succulents are giving me ideas for a rock garden! I had one years ago and they all died off due to the tree near them growing. That tree was just cut down and I have beautiful rocks so I can rebuild the garden!
You don't have to soak sweetpeas seeds. About 15 years ago I did an experiment where I soaked 1/2 of a pkt and not the other half. They germinated within 2 days of each other and both did equally great. I do love the root trainers from GS. This will be 2nd year using those for me.
Well, Laura, I have to tell you; I have some property I will one day be landscaping and gardening in -which is all new to me. And I’ve been watching you for over a year now. It’s so nice to absorb your information to help me with something so new, and so huge and so complicated! I wanted to point out this would’ve been quite the chore if it hadn’t been for you because all the other garden channels are just not my cup of tea. I guess I just am saying I’ve enjoyed hanging out with you.
It's not just any cats, Laura, it's these orange tabby cats! I have had spinach growing under a row cover all winter. Today my big orange tabby, Thomas O'Malley, decided to jump on top! Of course he tore a huge hole in the frost blanket and made a mess of things. He's always needy and wanting me to pet him when I'm trying to get work done in the garden. I have two other cats (not orange), but the orange one is always the troublemaker! 😼😼😼
The succulent planters look so pretty! I planted up my sweet peas yesterday. Our street is in full pink bloom right now with plum blossoms 🌸💮🌸💮🌸 Thanks Laura for all the hard work you share with us. We love you
💚 💜 Aaron, glade your procedure went ok! 😊 You know what I found so😮 satisfying, when you rake your dirt! It turns into this freshly darkened color! I woke up all of my yard yesterday. It was the first warm spring evening yet!❤ HI Russell, how are you today? 🐈 😻
A great video today on planting seeds and Great advice to. Can't wait for them to be blooming it will be a beautiful show. Your pot arrangement was just beautiful. And bad boy Russell. But he is a cutie
I love sempervivums! I live in Philadelphia, zone 7a. I have them throughout my garden. They do great here, I haven’t lost any in the winter. I’ve purchased many succulents and cacti from Mountain Crest. They are a great company and I’ve always received perfect cuttings or plants. All the arrangements were so pretty. I love cyclomen (sp?). They are so unique looking. I love the delicate petals. Our weather right now is so nice. So many of my perennials are showing their signs of life! I love spring! Have a great day everyone!
Love 💚 the arrangement and the containers you used today, especially your grand-dad’s bowl!! I mix my potting and cactus soils together too, with coarse sand and perlite, and then top the container with pebbles or sea glass that I get at the dollar store. 😂 Russell 🐈 sitting cozy on the dahlias 🤣 Enjoy your week!!
Everything is looking so pretty and colorful in the greenhouse, I can’t not wait until I can get outside and start planting. Your sweet peas are going to perfume the area you plant them. Will you be planting them close to your back door entrance???? So you can enjoy the scent as you pass bye??? Also, have you ever started them in the wet paper towel method and then placed in a baggie???? I can tell much quicker that way if the seed is viable. Usually check it after a couple days and see all the roots popping out. That way not to take up space on little containers and do not have to wait as long to see if it’s good or not! Love your videos!
My succulents get me thru the Winter.....love when the babies appear! I have a beautiful collection from Mountain Crest now. My do they ever send gorgeous plants. The packaging is amazing!!!🍃💚🍃
I’ve played this video about 4 times, on the fifth attempt I actually sat down and watched it though 😅 I kept getting distracted and couldn’t not watch every minute! 💜
FB left out the sweetness and cyclemens, they are perfect for that container. Samantha Grace would have so much fun hunting Easter eggs in your bunny grass. ❤One last picnic, and warm inside. Benjamin could look in all the higher nooks and crannies. You have so many perfect spots to spend during rainy days😊
That lemon tree is amazing!!! I’ve seen your video on soil for citrus years ago and think you went into some detail on fertilizer. Would love any more info on your citrus trees. I started growing two from seed in 2020. They grow like crazy in the summer when they’re outside, and I bring them in my house for the winter. They’re each around 3’ tall now. Located in Nova Scotia, Canada. Hope to get fruit soon. Any helpful tips on things like pruning, encouraging fruit would be so appreciated
Thank you Laura. Agree with the peppers and tomatoes. My tomatoes were huge but no taste. Peppers were hammered with spider mite so, shan't be doing toms and peppers this year. Really disappointed with Cyclamen. I bought 9 plants and they were supposed to be hardy outdoor. We had snow and minus 6 degrees in Southern England and sent all of them to mush. I love cyclamen but have learned my lesson. Keep them indoors. xxPop Russell in a cardboard box. He'll love it. Especially with catnip. xxxx
Oh! Seeing all the sweet pea seeds soaking, reminded me of your own seed harvest project and all the Mason jars you used to store them. Have you used any of those this year? Did I miss that video? ❤
I love those root trainers. They are expensive but will last a long time, as long as your dog doesn’t get ahold of them! I planted my sweet peas in them also. I forgot to soak the seeds this year but they came up fine.
Reminds me of the first garden answer videos I ever watched years ago, you started my succulent journey 🥰 question: do you see many Australian natives in America? Would love to hear any tips and tricks you have on them
Good morning 😊Laura and family Oh my can't wait to see the results all those flowers with beautiful colored blooms thank you Laura for sharing, Russell is a hoot 😊 🐈👋🌱 send some of that 😊rain 💦 our way, we got a little shower last week but, not enough to wet our whistle. Oklahoma Panhandle 6b, Texas County. 👋
I need to try succulents again. You'd think they would be good for those that forget to water their plants😊... oh the audio at 9:30 startled me for a sec!. Thanks for always giving detailed lists.
Mountain Crest Gardens--just ordered gift box for sisters b-day. Ordered a few for me too! Thanks for introducing me to all of your vendors. I now have a hose-link!
Good morning! I have got to get some seed starting supplies and get planting. It would give me the Spring planting fun that I have this time of year. Purchased seeds last year just didn’t have a place to do it. Russell & Cheddar together, yay!
Russell is just cat sitting the renuculus. That's what supervisors do....they get into your business! And mess up your process in the process!! Happy gardening! All the plants and seedlings are looking great. You have a real green thumb Laura.
Russell, just keeping his tubers warm. He’s such a character.
Lol Russell...he's like "if it fits, it sits" 😂😂
Hatching the dahlias 😅
he is a hoot 🤣🤣
😂😂😂he’s a mess😂😂😂
Typical orange tabbies...silly and that who cares , i don't attitude...our garfield was like that🤣
😅😂
Great to hear Russell's voice. This is first time I've heard his voice. Great arrangement.
I think that's the first time I've heard Russell talk. I guess he's getting more comfortable being in front of the camera! LOL
Russell is too funny. he needs to be by your side every step of the day. Laura, the greenhouse is looking great, I can't wait to see all the amazing planting you are going to do in the short weeks ahead. 💐🌻🌱
What’s better than one Laura? Multiple Laura’s at about 9:25! ❤️
😅
😂
🎉🎉🎉
….the echoes seemed like she was on a microphone in a gymnasium.
It's a party!
I love how you treat your cats…..makes me smile every day!!
Oh, that Russell! 🤣 Gotta love him and your reaction was hysterical! Love the way you and Aaron keep it real, Laura 💕
Love the way Russell answers you back. He is amazing. Love you all.
I'm the same except I live in an older basement suite without windows so I can't even grow house plants 😢🇨🇦
Loved seeing Russell and Cheddar sleeping together on the chair. I love Mountain Crest...so many choices.
I always start my sweet peas in inner roll of toilet paper pacer in a plastic container with drain holes. Yay, succulents! I love using antiques in crafts! I hope everyone enjoys nature today!
I think that was the first time I heard Russell complain. LOL! He is keeping them warm! LOL! Everything looks green and warm and happy. Love it!
I don't think Russell was complaining, but rather stating his position. 😹😻😹
Only Laura could make a succulent arrangement as beautiful as that one! Life goals!! ❤
Russell is so stinking cute 🥰. Had to rewatch twice of him talking back to you Laura 😊
I don’t know how you keep track of everything you’ve got going. I’m sure happy your younger and enjoy what your doing. Can’t wait to see where everything is going to end up.
“Russell! You can’t be laying on the dahlias!” His response, “Mine!”
Gotta love that cat!
Good morning, Laura ☕️ Those semps look fantastic in that old, rusty pot! 🙌🏻 I love heirloom treasures like that. That greenhouse is bustling!! Well done! Have a Blessed Day 😊🐈
Good morning all have a safe and blessed day 🥰
Your passion for gardening just shines.
So sweet that Russell talks back. Great video. Thanks.
Sempervivums looking vivacious, with Russell being a pillbox :D and the cyclamen adding charm to a greenhouse brimming with life 🪴 🌱 Love it!
That entire area is filling up already - wow - everything is looking great!
Yup, definately need a couple chairs in there for the kitties...had to LOL at russel in the dalias. Too funny!
I appreciate seeing each succulent shining on its own.
Russell makes for a great heat mat...lol
My mom always grew the prettiest sweet peas...one of her faves...I have no luck with them.
Laura: RUSSELL! Russell: whut? 😸😸gotta love those kitties!! When we were walking around looking at all the growth, I thought wow - Laura did all that! Goals 🙌🏻❤
Really love this whole project. The gravel and pebbles are loving it!!
Rain, wonderful rain. You can irrigate as much as you can but nothing beats a soaking rain.
You don't have to soak sweetpeas seeds. About 15 years ago I did an experiment where I soaked 1/2 of a pkt and not the other half. They germinated within 2 days of each other and both did equally great. I do love the root trainers from GS. This will be 2nd year using those for me.

I love this arrangement so. I’m glad you left room for them to grow. I was needing inspiration to do mine with room to grow.

We all like to be in the Hartley!
And in the greenhouse❣️
Dang you can really fill a greenhouse in little time. It was nearly empty just 2 months ago! Yummy goodness, I’d be sitting in that lettuce!
Those turned out great and I love the rocks you added as top dressing.
Good Morning! 🌞 Love all those Sempervivums!! Those containers are gorgeous!! I do like those trays! Can't wait for color in the garden!😃🌱💚
I love all of those burgundy colored succulents! -Cara😄

I’ve played this video about 4 times, on the fifth attempt I actually sat down and watched it though 😅 I kept getting distracted and couldn’t not watch every minute! 💜
Grooming my semps is a favorite task. I’m in IN and pot mine in full regular potting mix. They do great in full sun on the south side of the house.
Thank you for all the great tips about sweet peas. Can’t wait to start planting.
