i think it's crap. The normal one is waaay better, but opinions opinions. I think if the other one had been made the DM one everyone would be wanting that one. I thought the normal cover of the Black costume saga was better too.
One of the books I am MOST excited for this year. I missed the last printing. I’ve read a handful of the issues but still a ton I need to finally read! 🕷️ Amazing coverage as always Omar 📚
Always really liked Larsen's Spider-Man issues, can't wait to get this. Definitely the DM cover for me, I think that'll sell out quickly. Glad to hear there are no printing errors in this one.
Another long overdue Spidey reprint and pure Larsen post-McFarlane magic -- looking forward to getting new ed of Amazing SpiderMan vol. 2 as well! I preordered the DM variant but I think both covers are great. The standard actually quite grew on me recently. Imagine how great it would be to get Savage Dragon omni in this format!:)
Mine's been on pre-order for a while now! Can't wait for it to come in! I went with the standard cover. Love that full size Larsen Spidey on the front!
Good afternoon Omar welcome back to the channel 😊, I hope you're doing well, I was wondering looking back on this video if marvel will ever have a Spidey Omnibus that collects his Acts of Vengeance crossover issues between his main series in full since this one skips most of them and in a different Spidey Omnibus that takes place earlier that it would collect all of his inferno crossover issues in his main series since the Amazing Spider-Man by David Michelinie and Todd McFarlane also skips them? I wish you the best Omar I love your content 😁.
I loved this era of SM and was also buying it monthly such great times! Even though i already have the previous printing enjoyed this new review. I like how fun this era was and when Larsen throws in lots of fun cameos, guest stars, and always draws his friend in each issue (receding hairline, glasses, mustache man).
I'm reading 90s savage dragon & it just kept reminding me how insane Larsen Spider-man was . I never read the whole Larsen run but I think it was better done kus he had an actual writter to work with aldough it was still very off the rails
MJ's Hair in the late 90s Book isn't on Larsen. They brought the Romita-Version back with the Vol. 2 Books. He just followed what was done at the time.
Thank you for the overview. I didn't get the initial printing. Now that I have Mcfarlane's and Bagley vol 1, I'll be picking up Larsen's reprint. I am grabbing the Standard cover. I like how dynamic the cover looks and the yellow background makes it pop. After Superior Foes of Spider-Man, I became quite fond of Boomerang.
I cant wait for this omnibus going to be amazing!! Then i can read the bagley omnibus :) very excited! I also have the single issues for 376-393 then im on too the clone saga! Only read the first volume of the clone saga but just excited to have them all! And first time reading all these issues :D love the artwork for the 80s 90s comics
I've been wanting this to be reprinted for years! Erik Larsen is one of my all time favorite artists and inspirations alongside Eric Powell, Kevin O'Neill, and Darwyn Cooke.
@NearMintCondition that's good to know! I know some people will appreciate knowing that. Since the Bagley Vol. 2 has been announced, I have decided to forego that Spidey Vs Venom Omni in lieu of it.
Given a choice for this Omni, would you rather the 2016 1st Edition or the newly released 2nd Edition Printing? If there is no new added content, I usually prefer the OG 1st Printings. I prefer the thicker paper stock. Typically, thicker paper stock is indicative of a higher quality, more premium book. Omar, we are so close to being complete 1-894 in Hardcover format! That's counting Omnis, Masterworks, OHCs, and Premiere Edition standard size Hardcovers. Right now, I'm really enjoying the read through of ASM 546 to 697 via standard size Premiere Edition Hardcovers. Since they have basically nixxed the OHC line, what would you say about Marvel bringing standard size Premiere Editions back again? With DJs of course (not the printed on board they were doing in 2014-16 near the end of the line's life). I think it would be popular and work out well. As long as they did not out price people. They were all $5 more than Trades and printed the exact same contents. LMK your thoughts! Thanks again, Omar!
Omar we need to convince Marvel to somehow put the rest of the adjectiveless Spider-man (1990) series in an omni 😅 We are only missing issues #24-34, #38-50 plus #17 (Infinity Gauntlet story) and the backup stories of #19-20.
I know it may be annoying that I'm always asking questions about Conan, but are you going to do a review/comparison on the omnibus' that Titan releases?
@@NearMintCondition I loved the Savage Sword Vol. 1 review. I was more asking about the rest. Will you be doing reviews for all of them or just a select few?
This looks awesome. I'm skipping this one as prefer my Spider-Man in chronological order and felt this era was not as strong as what came before like Stern, De Falco. Still there's some gems in this book.🙂
@stephentheshywarrior2759 This fits the chronological order, though. Right after the Michelinie-McFarlane omni and right before the Michelinie-Bagley omnis and the Clone Saga omnis. If you have all these, you can have a complete amazing Spider-Man run from 1988 to 1996! We only need an omni or two after the Complete Black Costume Omnibus and Amazing Spider-Man Vol.7 to have a complete run from 1962 to 1996.
I own the first printing. Easily my favorite of the three Spidey omnibuses I own (the other two being McFarlane's 90's series and his run with Michelinie).
@NearMintCondition You are the reason I bought that book. I only collect up to 1989-90 which is what I collected as a kid. The new stories that I'm sure are good don't hold any nostalgic memories for me. Not only did you sell me on this one but the next one after that. Marvel better be taking care of you, if not for your channel their sales wouldn't be anything near what it is, of that I'm sure.
There were three things guaranteed in life during this era of Spider-Man…death, taxes, and Larsen was going to draw MJ in her underwear. You could probably argue that One More Day was more respectful to MJ than this era was, lol.
@@hankmoody4610 agree she is a model she is suppose to be hot but I'm just talking about the stuff he has her wear . He has a character that looks like MJ on savage dragon as well, I dont mined it I'm just saying it's a thing he is known for
I've really enjoyed this era and this omnibus. Except for the last Sinister Six story that Larsen both wrote and drew. That was garbage. Artwork wasn't as crisp and the writing was atrocious with entire pages of exposition to explain what wasn't conveyed via the art/storyboarding.
Cheap see-through paper on these latest Marvel Omnibuses are not doing justice to these beautiful stories and material!!! Marvel should stop using these cheap Turkish printers and go back to using better quality ones. Turkey is still occupying Cyprus too so let’s shop with more conscience…
That image of Venom holding the Spider-Man skull should have definitely been a cover option. That is a great image.
One of the best covers ever, the dm that is.

Amazing coverage as always Omar 📚
We have a soft spot for this era.
The MCP story is interesting because it has a proto version of Larsen's Savage Dragon, as well as a stealth cameo by Billy Batson.
This is my favorite era of Mary Jane and my favorite Mary Jane art as well.
I have to buy this omnibus! Thanks Omar for the video!!
A must have!

Amazing run.
Must buy
This is the cover i used for my custom dustjacket.

I brought these in single issues growing up. Soo much nostalgia for me in this omnibus, especially that Doc Ock cover ❤💙
I'm very excited for this one! Spider-Man #15 was one of my all time favorite standalone issues growing up, and I love the Sinister Six!

My wife has the same crazy Curley hair as MJ. just not as red hers is a little more orange tint.
I've been wanting this to be reprinted for years! Erik Larsen is one of my all time favorite artists and inspirations alongside Eric Powell, Kevin O'Neill, and Darwyn Cooke.
Do I even need the Spider-Man vs venom Omni anymore?
That one still has some books not collected elsewhere like Darkhawk and the vault.

I ordered this one today!! Cheers!!!
Considering i started with Spidey, strangely this is my only Spider-man omnibus.
That spine makes me want to rebuy this!

Hey, Marvel, where is our ASM vol.2 reprint?
I need more jobs! How can we be expected to afford all this greatness!?
Charles Bronson. Spider-Man’s greatest foe! Move over Venom
Imak (sp) printer? No thank you. Personally, I thought the bleed thru on Black Costume saga made the omnibus feel cheap, also printed on Imak.
Ugh Anne Weying death was a mistake in my opinion.

It's not respectful to draw MJ in underwear? I'm confused.
Oh definitely wen we talk about over sexualizing the characters he was one of the worst 😂 the lady death artist got pretty bad to
Larsen's MJ was a goddess, so he must have had her in very high regard 🤷🏻♂️. She's a model anyway.
