Small note: killing joke comes before death in the family, as in the jokers first scene in ditf his henchman talks about what he did to the commissioners daughter
Even the introduction of jin paul valley is not included too same as you mentioned about the sord of azrael too and honestly it’s a hard book to find lately
Great video! By the way, have you read some of the early Legends of the Dark Knight stuff? Shaman, Prey, Venom etc. There are lots of good stories that exist somewhere in Batman's early years, but it takes years to find them all. As you say, with some like 'the cult', they can be hard to get a copy of.
Great collection you got, all of them got great artwork personally am missed up and confused with knightfall collection supposedly the correct reading is prelude knightfall, vol 1, vol 2, and vol 3 right 😂😂 how ever I traced the issues of knightfall to the roots and found there is a book between vol 1 & vol 2 which it called Knightquest the search and it got connecting issues between both volumes and finally after knightsend there’s a concluding book to the knightfall series which it called batman troika 😂 and they are all collected in the omnibus format but not in paper trade as far as am concerned 😂😂😂😂
Hello, great video. I finished all 3. I've been searching for the perfect reading order too. I'd like to suggest adding Arkham Asylum it introduces aspects of the joker that would be used in Morrison's as well as Zdarsky's stories about the joker. I'd also include Dark Knights Metal and Last Knight on Earth finishes Snyder's run on Batman. Also also Dark knight Returns for elseworlds yo. Its impact and influence can still be felt to this day. Its probably the best Batman story. Thanks for the informative video. I'm a little behind on Batman and these vids have been very helpful.
Just wanted to say that Nightwing Year One doesn’t lead into Second Chances. It retcons second chances. Id recommend getting second chances and Teen Titans Judas Contract. Judas Contract is way better than Nightwing year one.
@walterkovacs2865 oh Ok. Thanks. I didn't want to mention Teen Titans since it is a totally different franchise relating to batman unlike nightwing but I will make sure to keep that in mind
@@geeky531 Yeah I prefer Teen Titans Judas Contract. The way Dick becomes Nightwing and how him and Jericho save the team from Deathstroke and Terra is much better than Dick getting fired by Bruce. I hate the way Nightwing year one portrays Bruce. They make him a sociopath that lacks empathy and fires Dick because he was late to battle Clayface. He also ties up Jason and leaves him in the Batcave.
Thanks! There r so many great options. I think the Scott Snyder omnibuses are a great jumping on point along with the jeph Loeb and tim sale one. But if u want one where you have to read much more then I would suggest Batman and Robin omnibus along with The Grant Morrison. But those are confusing unless u r reading other books at the same time. -stay geeky
The long halloween and it’s sequels are amazing, dark victory is the main sequel with haunted knight being short stories in the same time period and the catwoman spinoff “when in rome” running between chapters in Dark Victory. Another good book by the same author is Hush which is a more modern story including a lot of his villains
@@sameerrajakumar I think a great jumping on point would be James Tyoins run that he did during dc rebirth. It's really good and heavily focused on the bat family
@tyleryates8508 no sorry. Batman had a loot of villain but a lot of those books are a good introduction and feature their origins. Like Killing Joke, The Man Who Laughs, Long Halloween and Etc

ok thanks for letting me know
I feel like Dark victory is such a great story it’s honestly disappointing that people never talk about it
@@Yungman1a agreed
Absolutely

You should refilm this but without the spoilers.
Hi, you might know already but there's now a 20th anniversary deluxe edition of nightwing year one in print. Great video btw.
@@The_Only_Reaper thanks! I am very excited to pick that up

@hankscorpion9939 thanks! I have read a couple but it was years ago on an ebook. I do wish they would rerelease some of that
